Hoping GrannySomerset is feeling a bit better with her cough. For me it’s another day inside today trying to get rid of mine and trying to muster some energy to move away from the sofa.
I hope you’re both feeling better soon Sar53 and ready to go away. I’m 50/50 about cancelling the visit to DD1s on Friday, I’ll see how today goes and hope I start feeling a bit better. I really want to go but don’t want to spread all my germs just before Christmas

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. 7° but a terrible strong gale.

Last night was an icy and clear moonlit on my short walk back from the church carol singing.

After yarn group and festive community lunch I'm driving my car, packed to the gunwales with books, for next year's charity book sale.

My friend is on her way to France to her DD's hospital bedside where she was suddenly taken ill.

I shall be praying for them and for all who need strength to get through the day.

I slept as late as 4.30am this morning then listened to my childhood favourite Wind in the Willows on BBC Sounds till 6am.
Yesterday was dull but dry all day. I stayed in, mostly housework and admin in the morning...organising next year's holiday arrangements which take my mind off this winter. In the afternoon I got on with my japanese author and finished his oeuvre after dinner, a charming and different little tale. 'Before the coffee gets cold' if you're interested.

Today, a little light housework, then continue a sort through my clothes, ready for the charity shops in the new year. Time to get tough on things I haven't worn for years or have 'outgrown' due to my steroids treatment.
Then I shall settle down to more reading.

Your DD2 certainly has the talent to be a successful professional Bella . I should like to see, and sample, the inside!

Off to DGsS3s school carol service this afternoon and then collect his brother from school. We will stay with them until their parents get home (late) as they are in London this evening.

Like the sunrise pics upthread, I thought my security lights at the front of the house must have come on but it was the sun reflecting off a neighbour’s house! Need to pop to Waitrose to pick up an order- and no doubt buy more food- and a FT French lesson for GS1 this afternoon are all my fixed plans. 9 year old GS in Paris FTimed last night as he was practising the poem he has to recite in school today - it’s LaFontaines fable “Le Loup et L’Agneau” - who’d have thought that a term in a French primary school would have achieved so much! Many kids couldn’t recite something that length off by heart in their own language.
They come home next week and while it will be lovely to have them back in this country, their one term “sabbatical “ in Paris has been a great success in so many respects.

It is the U3A Christmas lunch today. It is usually fun. I’ve found some Christmas headwear for us.

The tree is up and decorated and looks good.

There’s a poster whose DH is in hospital, awaiting discharge, but being held up by the lack of a care plan.

Mistakenly I thought it was Greyduster, but I now see it isn’t. Can anyone tell me who it is, please.

Good morning everyone from soggy Lancashire. Yesterday morning we awoke to thick fog, today it is Scotch mist.

The day ran away with me yesterday and I did not get a chance to post. I was finally able to get the necessary prescription to deal with the latest painful and distressing psoriasis outbreak. It has been depriving me of sleep and making me feel very miserable. It will take a while to clear but I am already feeling much better. I seem to be dealing with so many different health problems, I am sure Marydoll will understand exactly how I feel! It’s just one thing on top of another. Still no call from the GP regarding my kidney results and I don’t have the strength to chase it up right now. I have a telephone appointment with the pharmacist today, a routine annual meds review which will probably not be particularly productive, more of a box ticking exercise.

Today MrB and I have been for our usual walk around the dock. The air is very damp with a cool breeze but it feels good to get out.

I’m thinking of our poorly grans and those with troubles, as always.

Late again after a cough disrupted night but feeling less awful so survival looks probable. No plans for today but lots of little jobs if I can summon up the energy. Hope for a more successful day for everyone!

I have been handed a walking frame, a commode and a perching stool but so far no DH.

Just returned from my Waitrose visit and good timing as it was relatively quiet.
