Good Morning Christmas Day 25th December 2025

Good morning, Michael and a Merry Christmas to you, and all GNs. Just light here and a dry day. I am at DDs. She has just brought me a coffee and they are off out to do a local Christmas Day park run with friends and their children. We will open presents when they come back. I slept fitfully last night though only because I’m not used to a single bed!

I hope everyone has a wonderful day, however it comes together for you!🎄🥂🍗

Good morning from a brightening northwest coast. DS arrived last night to complete the family Christmas and we had a beef stroganoff and lots of chat. I have so many Christmas light things going on, it’s a job to remember to turn them all off at the end of the day!

A stocking by my bedroom door this morning and I’m looking forward to the day.

Good morning from south of Ireland! Clear and cold - lovely crescent moon last night- 9 year old grandson said it was like the Dreamworks one! All quiet in house so far.

A heartfelt Happy Christmas to everyone, may it be the best it can be for us all as we send love and support to one another X

Grandchildren here are at the age that dad is rousing them all to indulge their parents in traditional present opening, then I’ll phone the rest of my family and say happy Christmas to them.

Mass online for me at 11 o’clock (Oban Cathedral is freezing!) and then over the bridge to son in law’s parents for nibbles etc before all his family come here for the main meal after his sister finishes her work at a local care home at 4 o’clock.

It’s very cold here in . Essex. Yesterday was chilly with an icy wind when I walked the dog over open fields.

I’m sitting with a cuppa and pooch and enjoying the peace before Dh comes down. Just us two chickens today and we’ll just take it as it comes. Dinner around 2 and just snacking for the rest of the day. No stress after years of a full house to cater for. 🥳.

Looking forward to being with all the family tomorrow at DS1’s house. I will take presents and food round this evening.

Good morning Mick and all GN's and a Happy Christmas to you all. I came back to the thread yesterday afternoon and was able to read a lot more messages than I usually do. It was very nice to hear from some people who are more readers and lurkers as they put it, I hadnt realized how many people did enjoy reading of the many escapades and happenings in our lives.

I am spending the day with a friend in Co Durham and it is lovely and peaceful and I shall enjoy not being the cook. Will ring my son and family later and hope he has had a better night, but not planning on anything in particular other than that. Thankyou Mick for starting this thread and best wishes to all those that join us on the early morning messages. May your day be happy and all the presents work and have enough batteries for everything!

Good morning to you all and Merry Christmas! Lovely to see so many new names joining us. It’s fine but windy here in Torbay.

We are very late waking up after a late night being “serenaded” by our church bells until 11.30 pm! Yesterday, we had a delicious Christmas lunch at The Drum, in Cockington, a pub designed by Lutyens, where we'd held our wedding reception in 2015. For once I wasn’t driving as we treated ourselves to a taxi there and back.

We had to scrape the car, after Midnight Mass, at 2am this morning°

Mass was probably the most beautiful Midnight Mass, I've been to. The seminarian ran amok with candelabra, but he had no idea how to keep them burning properly. The linen ladies will be mad, There is wax everywhere.
He thinks he knows it all, but got a lesson in candle maintenance. 😉

DD has made a fantastic job of making dinner. I am going to sit back and do northing.

I can hardly see, due to my eye problem, I have to go to the eye infirmary, if it isn't any better by Saturday.
DH had to drive me to open up the church last night. He ended up with a host of jobs to do!
Poor man doesn't like to be in the limelight. One woman asked, who that man was. 😂

I was woken in the night - around 3 am - by all sorts of shenanigans outside. I think it was the house on the corner where a mother and son live. All seems peaceful now.

Good morning everyone, from our cold ( but dry )West Yorkshire town.
The Christmas lights are on, outside and inside, and I am having a quiet cup of coffee before MrLP wakes up. We will have a quiet morning before heading over to my daughter and her fiance's house for Christmas lunch. It's the first time they have hosted, and I am really appreciating this stress free day!
It will be just the 4 of us for lunch. My son and his wife are having a quiet Christmas down south, no doubt we will be having a video call with them at some point.
I wish you all a Merry Christmas, and hope you all find a way to enjoy the day, however you choose to celebrate it. Sending all best wishes also for a happy and peaceful 2026.
