I have been very ill for most of December and so far this month too. Luckily I did get my Christmas decorations up before I fell ill. The problem is that I'm not well enough to take them down and I have nobody to do it for me. Is it really bad luck to leave them up after twelfth night? I can't see me getting them down anytime soon and I could do without yet more bad luck.

... leave them up until - as Witzend points out - the end of the Christmas season (Candlemas), 2nd February.
They might cheer you up a bit for one thing - when they do come down, the place can look a tad dull and cheerless.
More importantly, it's not a good idea to do anything that you feel you can't handle if you are unwell.
... but, what are you doing for things like shopping, cleaning, etc? Is there anyone who can help you at all? Would it be worth giving Adult Social Services a ring - I don't mean for them to take your decorations down, but for a little help if you think you might be unwell for some time?
I hope you start to feel better soon, it's no fun being poorly and alone I'm sure.
