I have never really spent a lot on my sheets, but now I feel as though I want to get some good quality ones
I have no idea what to go for and would appreciate some recommendations, thank you

I was fed up with Ikea and Dunelm cotton bedding wearing thin so wanted to treat myself to some luxurious bedding I noted that a lot of designers recommended Piglet in Bed. I bought a cotton/ linen blend set in the sale and love it. Going to buy another set so I can have one on / one in wash. Maybe pure linen ones next time. So many colours to choose from. Pricey but so what ( spending childrens inheritance).

I buy brushed microfiber, i’ve been buying microfibre sheets for about seven years and I always look for extra deep 40 cm, they are as cheap as chips and so very comfortable easy to wash and no ironing required.
I’ve recommended them to friends and family and everyone that tries them does not go back back to normal sheets.
I’ve been buying mine off Amazon and there are some bargains to be had.
If you don’t believe me just buy one sheet I think at the most expensive for king size it’s less than £10 happy sleeping

All good suggestions. Double check your mattress depth . I bought a too deep depth fitted sheet which is too damn big and therefore too loose a fitting!

MS good as I can click and collect. Never bought JL bedding apart from mattress and pillow covers. Love the pillow protectors with a zip closure. So neat.

Brushed cotton I love love love for winter.

Have a look at mattress suspenders; some only go across the corners, but you can get long ones which span the width/length of the bed - wouldn't be without mine!

There's a huge choice of sheets on Amazon. The only thing I'd add is if you're going for fitted sheets from anywhere check the depth of your mattress as the sheets come in several different depths.

White Company always. Extra long so you get a luxurious fold back at the top. Last for year. Boil wash with an Dr Beckams whitener. Never bleach.

I like Dunelm bedding which as lasted well , current ones nine years old. My Christmas print bedding is M&S and just as nice obviously that is only on the bed do part of the year

I always buy cotton percale sheets, either from John Lewis or Dunelm.

Shinamae. I had a problem with my card when I tried several times to enter my details for a purchase online but it didn’t go through, they then put a stop on any further transactions. It could be this.

Thank you 🙂

I tumble dry my bamboo sheets. They're fine.

I have M&S cotton and bamboo which I love but they are not always available. A good and very similar alternative is cotton and tencel from Soak &Sleep . Be aware that you can only wash bamboo at 30° and tumble drying is not recommended.

My last percale were from Dunelm - I think they are Dorma?

Yes, those are the ones I have eventually managed to order from Dunelm the ones above
I got so fed up with not been able to do the transaction that I got hold of my bank and there was some sort of problem with my card but they sorted it out but they didn’t tell me what it was so that was a bit annoying I might get onto them a bit later and find out. I think I’ve got a right to know.

I’ve gone on M&S website and can’t see any sign of bamboo sheets or percale. 🙄

Yes ‘brushed cotton’ I said brushed flannel earlier but obvs meant brushed cotton. I only use these sheets in the winter.

Well, I have tried to buy those sheets from Dunelm and it’s impossible. I have put my card details in six times now and they are saying they can’t process my transaction so please try again.
I have also been on the phone waiting for 20 minutes so now they have lost a sale so I will have to keep looking 🙄

I like a percale weave better than a sateen.
Satin weave structure wears more quickly. Though I do have both.
And I sleep "hot" so they suit me best.

Always a long staple cotton and high count.

I wouldn't buy fitted sheets or percale either- but it is your choice and your bed!

I’m thinking of these, what do you think??

That looks great and sounds pretty impressive, plus is fitted which I love.

Shinamae Wed 07-Jan-26 12:24:57

I did look at the bamboo, but a bit out of my price range

I like deep fitted white poly cotton sheets, which don't need to be ironed.

labazs Wed 07-Jan-26 11:58:03
