Near here there is a whole row of about 8 mature mimosa trees. One is already fully out, several more are well on the way. 🌼🙂

Now it’s warmed up a bit we have big buds showing on one of our trees . Must look if the snowdrops are peeping through yet

Just come in from rose pruning and cutting back. The light is definitely getting better as the sun has risen a little in the sky.

Lots of cyclamen coum mixed with snowdrops - such a pretty mixture. I shall plant some more in a different part of the garden.

I have some of my daffodils in bud, but not open yet. I’ve also got some snowdrops open and various primulas are in bloom. Everything else is still hidden or only just pushing through. The forecast is showing more sleet and snow next week and into early February, so I think some flowers may wait a little longer. Winter isn’t quite finished with us just yet 🥶, but it is nice to see some signs of the spring to come.

I saw snowdrops at Dyrham Park.

North Dorset here. There are snowdrops in abundance at our local National Trust property and the daffodils in our garden are well up now. Can’t be sure we’re not going to have another very cold snap though - so maybe not so good? Does seem a tad early to me.

Only muscari (grape hyacinths) growing in my garden in Essex. I expect all the daffodils either shrivelled in the summer, drowned in the autumn, froze this month or are too weak to push through the muscari and weeds! But I live in hope, it’s only January!!

Our camellia has been in bud since mid-December. I find it really unsettling.

Between Christmas and New Year I visited a National Trust property in the south west region and their snowdrops were well and truly out.

... whereabouts in the South West? I'm in the South West (The Cotswolds) - and looking for snowdrops in my garden which haven't appeared yet as they normally do by this time...

Snowdrops out in Bristol for several weeks now.

... crumbs, I must brave the rain and soggy grass and have another look!

Thanks!

My AC know where I want my ashes to be scattered, they know my favourite songs, the rest is down to them, their memories, their future…

Lovely splash of pink from my hardy cyclamen on the rockery and my primroses are out.

I deadheaded my active rose bush on boxing day!

Oh , Witzend do you live in the South? I LOVE Mimosa, but haven't risked planting it here in Yorkshire...

Outer SW London. We don’t often get extremes of weather.

I had 2 new agapanthus stems around 18 inches tall but the high winds and rains have bent them over and broken them.

There are 2 Agapanthus flowers out in my neighbours front garden here in my village in S Devon. My rhododendron was flowering its heart out in November!

Can’t see anything for snow! NE Scotland.

Wedi Sat 10-Jan-26 16:06:14

Primroses started just before Christmas !

I love mimosa too - you rarely see it in flower shops, I expect because it doesn't last long. When my late Mum saw any for sale, she always bought a bunch for each of us, and vice versa, so it brings back happy memories of her! A very big treat for me now is a bottle of Jo Malone mimosa and cardamom perfume, which makes a good job of capturing the scent without being too overpowering.

Lots of daffs and snowdrops in flower here in Oxfordshire, and last summer's Osteospermums in pots against the house and in a hanging basket are still flowering.

Aely Sat 10-Jan-26 15:19:30

The Helebores will recover. Plenty more flowers will come, I bet.

silverlining48 Sat 10-Jan-26 15:13:08

Snowdrops have been flowering in my garden since before Christmas and purple amistead salvia still in flower since last summer. Yet it’s freezing.
Looking forward to my daffodils 🌼

I live near Northumberland and have grown a Mimosa for forty five years. It’s alway beautiful and always healthy. Worth trying.
