I'm almost finished my Christmas chocolates...

I shall have to make do with plain dark chocolate from Lindt or grocery store brand until the next holiday. Woe is me.
I enjoyed the ones from Roger's (a Victoria BC brand) so much that I may have to lay a heavy hint to DH for Valentine's day.

How is everyone else coping?

We still have a very few whole liqueur cherries in dark chocolate, present from a dd who knows my weakness! From Friars of Keswick, who make superb chocolates. Also had one of their excellent chocolate nut platters, all now scoffed by the two resident 🐷🐷.

Merlotgran, what a nice way to remember your DH flowers

Nearly all chocolates gone here. Just one box of lovely ones from a local chocolatier. A few other ones the GC can have.
Re Christmas cake leftovers I slice up into portions and freeze them. They make a nice treat with a cuppa in a couple of weeks time when fancying a treat.

Half way through my eight boxes of After 8s. Heroes and other things long gone. I must have different taste buds to everyone else because our Lindt chocolates will sit here forever untouched. They will end up as a tombola prize because I can't even regift them because I don't know anyone who likes them.

Witzend I didn't realise Black Magic were still available. They were my all time favourites when I was younger.

Oh dear. My Christmas chocs have all gone. Will just have to buy more in the sales. It's just good financial sense!

Wonky Coffee (.com) has half-price Belgian ganache boxes on sale - £12.50 instead of £25 for 500g. Their decorations are crooked, otherwise they are exactly the same as perfect mixed boxes (I've tried them)

We finished the After Eights two nights ago, and a box of fudge that we brought back from Jersey. Also finished the Christmas cake made by DH. That's it for us now until next Christmas probably - back to keto yesterday and looking forward to Easter and Hot Cross bus.

I do love After Eights. I keep them in the chiller drawer of the fridge. I love the crispy minty bite!

I would be embarrassed to say just how much chocolate I have eaten over Christmas, it is a lot.
However I probably won’t eat any more for months, I never buy chocolate apart from Christmas.
Unhealthy as that has been I have hardly put any weight on, I had the cold/ cough virus the first week of December and my appetite for main meals had diminished as has my liking for most alcohol.
I do enjoy a glass or two of wine, a G&T and occasionally a cocktail but have lost the taste fr them, I just hope it comes back!!
It has been easy to just dip into a box of chocolates, I have half a box of After Eight Mints left.
Whether have gone that will be it.

I’ve got loads left and will give some to the grandkids. I need to lose some weight. If only fruit tasted as good!

We finished the quality street last night . Just half a panatone left.

I have half a chocolate orange left. Today would have been DH’s birthday so tonight I will eat it in his honour. 😂

Elless Sat 10-Jan-26 10:45:36

Still got loads of chocolates and biscuits left but couldn't resist two tubs of Quality Street reduced to £2 in Asda 🤑

Esmay Sat 10-Jan-26 10:36:32

Unusually ,though I ate chocolate throughout the holiday my Christmas stack is almost untouched.
I usually finish them on 2nd January breaking my resolutions .
So I'll do what French women do -savour a bit of chocolate and not pig out on them !
I hope !

Very few chocolates took up residence here. The shortbread, however, is another topic………we were gifted loads of the stuff! Were getting to be quite the connoisseurs on shortbread 🤭

I have a box of Bendicks bitter mints hidden away. I'm trying to do "out of sight, out of mind" but it's not working! I might open them tonight.

Whole, small Christmas cake left and a tub of Hero’s , I had hidden away for Easter. DH found them last night whilst I was watching Traitors. Ah well.

TillyTrotter Fri 09-Jan-26 23:22:49

All chocolates have been eaten here and we are on last Oooohhh …. 3 slices of Christmas cake.
Will be glad when it is gone, then the healthy eating can begin .

Sadgrandma Fri 09-Jan-26 23:20:31

I received a big box of several bars of Green and Black dark chocolate which I am steadily working my way through. I had decided that I would cut out chocolate after Christmas but, well, I can’t let them go to waste can I! The problem then it will be Valentine’s Day. Of course I could say no but…… !

Crikey- I only got one box and my guests ate most of those!

If that was in response to my liqueurs, I do mean 32 individual chocolates out of a box of 64, not 32 boxes. A lovely present from my aunt.

crazyH Fri 09-Jan-26 22:55:33

Ferroro is my favourite - none left. I shall have to do a big shop in the next few days

I'm here chomping away at Maltezers. Still have hidden from OH a box of After Eight Mints as he has swipped most of the Quality Streets. Coping at the moment. I love Lindt chocolate so creamy. I always buy my Oh a big box in the hope he will offer me a few.

I knew something was missing, I forgot to buy After Eight mints this year! That oversight will be rectified tomorrow grin even though I've still got 32 liqueur chocolates, and many a chocolate biscuit to get through.
