Went to Boots yesterday for some No 7 Lip Care (so much better than normal greasy lip care even though it is almost £10). Turned out it was 3 for 2 so I picked up 3, used a £5 off No 7 voucher I had and then paid the last bit with Advantage Card points! Boots is one of the only places I know that will accept numerous vouchers on one purchase.

I bought some bargain wine from Budgens and didn't notice that it's alcohol free.
No wonder it's on sale.
It is cloudy and tasteless!
Not such a bargain .

knspol

I've got the opposite tale. I was waiting for John Lewis sale to buy a new duvet. Bought one and was pleased with the reduction until this morning when I see it's reduced a further £40+. Cursing quietly to myself.

How long ago did you buy it Knspol ?

You might be able to get a refund on their Never Knowingly Undersold policy, where they include their own price drops.

I did it once a while ago with a 50% price reduction.

I won a £50 adidas gift card in a competition and told my sporty DD she could have it. Today in the shop she found a nice hoody for £50 and added a pair of shorts in the sale for £17. I also had a 10% off card. The £50 gift card covered the hoody but with the extra discount the assistant got quite flustered and said “ oh just take the shorts”. So we didn’t pay for a thing 😃

Many years ago I bought a pair of jeans from a charity shop for 50 p. So cheap because it had a paint stain on it But I was painting anyway and the fitted superbly Took paint stripper to it then washed it. Came up a treat Wore the jeans to pick kids up from school. Friend admired jeans looked at label. Apparently they were really expensive, I got good wear out of them for many years I might add I did not paint in them.

My best bargain was an almost new Radley handbag for £7.

I bought a clothkits knitted jerkin from a charity shop in 1980 for 99p, have worn it every year since, & sold it last year on Vinted for £10!
It was such good quality, never seemed to suffer how ever many times it was washed.

Bought Christmas presents for both daughters and a tip for me in a pre Christmas sale at Crew (online) . This month bought a dress and Breton top for £28 for the two. They were 3 and 4 times dearer full price. The dress on its own was £49, sale price £16

I nipped into Tesco yesterday for milk. They had sone lovely packs of Christmas cards reduced from £4.99 to 15p!

I've just used up the last of some gorgeous Tesco Christmas cards I bought over 8 years ago (I bought that many 😂).
BTW lovely to hear the name Dylis, I had an auntie called Dylis, used to call her Auntie D 🙂

What an amazing bargain Sago. You were very resourceful in your use of the bargain vegetables. smile

Recently on a long journey we stopped for brunch at a very large farm shop (we often do). Apart from delicious homemade food and farm produce, it sells clothing from Barbour, Seasalt, Joules etc.
On the way out there was a seasonal sale section and a Seasalt dress caught my eye. There was only one, it was my size and reduced from £85 to £15! Of course it’s come home with me.

On Saturday I got a veg box in Lidl for £2.00..

It has made 16 portions of tomato and red pepper soup, 16 portions of celery, leek and potato soup, plum and pear mix for crumble and I still have some peppers and a Romaine lettuce in the fridge.

I popped into Matalan today because it is next to the supermarket, saw a really nice “activewear” top marked at £19 on the 50% off sale rail, got to the till with it and it came up as £4! Thrilled.

I have always been a bargain buyer, over the years because I needed to be, but of course it also becomes a habit. As I live alone, the best bargains for me in fruit and vegetables are being able to buy individual and small amounts fresh from the local market, spending cash, saves me money and supports local people.

My best recent bargain was a good quality leather bag, which can be used with the handle, or can be worn across the body or over the shoulders. It cost me £20 and I am very pleased with it. Think my best overall bargain over some years was a brand new silk blue shirtwaister blouse,in a closing down sale in Ann Harvey for £12.50 and it is 8 or 9 years ago, and it still fits and I find it my most useful top for going out in the evening with black velvet trousers.

Yesterday we had roast pork £2.50. Tasted even more delicious than if it had been full price!

I’ve just come home with a lovely purple puffer jacket from Go Outdoors. £14! If you have their loyalty card . Other colours available.

I bought some beautiful Xmas napkins in Tesco last week for about 45p. Also bought sellotape dispenser with tape for less than a £.

I’m really loving Vinted. My husband needed a new thick jumper and I managed to source a M&S one that was almost brand new for just £2.00. Absolute bargain.

On the way to M and S I went a different route and saw that Seasalt were having a sale .
It's a very long time since I bought anything from them , but the price of their dresses was amazing.
At the till there was a further 20% off .
I was thrilled as their quality is so good and the colours so subtle and pleasing.

My DH has been looking for a new winter jacket. Not a formal one, something to wear to football when it is cold and rainy/sleety. Today in M&S (a rare occurence for us) I spotted a jacket on the Sale rail where it stated it was "up to 70% off but no sale price on the ticket.. It looked perfect, fitted him wonderfully. The original price was £149 and when he took it to the checkout, they told him the sale price was £44.90. Bargain of the year for us!!!

John Lewis is a great place to price check, I've found some good savings there surprisingly.
