grandMattie I use food storage bags with tie handles in various sizes to store chopped veg for example. They sqush down in the fridge or freezer and would have fitted in your trolley...not that you should be doing all the shopping, chopping and transporting nor washing tea towels and baking all on your own. I expect you enjoy doing it but you need help.

You need an assistant. Suggest that to your vicar. Someone younger. Is there a young mum not back at work?

Good morning from a lovely sunny, yes sunny Suffolk . After yesterday’s heavy rain it is so welcome but I fear it won’t be strong enough to begin to dry the mud on the lanes around here.

I think we’ll probably drive to Lowestoft so I can return a jumper to M&S and we can have a walk on the beach there.

The first time our Australian SinL saw that he said seriously that it was as good as Bondi, well almost.

Hope today is a good one for all.

Good morning from a brighter N. Bucks.
A local food shop for us this morning and then we will pick up DHs mum. She enjoys a trip to a garden centre especially when lunch is promised.
Art/craft to keep me occupied this after and evening.
Wishing all a good day with a smile along the way.

Good morning, Michael12 and everyone!

Last night, about 11, I was lying in bed cosy, I woke up, and there was a huge wet patch on the mattress! My hot water bottle leaked!

UGH!

I sprayed the mattress with Fabreze, turned it over, and then top-to-bottom!

I hate sheets and won't have anything to do with them, so thankfully I didn't have to deal with them; it's just the bare mattress with the pillow and duvet!

Have a good one all of you!

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. The threatened snow storm has been called off.

A very cosy dinner party last night and apart from fetching in logs and lighting the fire, the meal was good and simple. I buy very fresh fish off the van from Eyemouth.
It takes 3 minutes to cook lemon sole. Washed down with wine from Lidl Ash 😆
I bet I pay a lot more here.

I have a pottery commission to complete by the end of next week so my work is cut out.

Now to take my baking and flowers across to the Saturday open house and hope I'm not needed to serve.

Hope all of you struggling with pain and worries have a better day.
Great to hear you slept well gM

Good morning from a bright Leicestershire.
This is the first day without carers and we both slept in until 8.30.

Not much planned today but will make stew and dumplings with enough for the freezer.
Oh and must remember to pay the taxman!

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Good morning from Shropshire.More rain forecast.

Yesterday was long and tiring. We went to mum’s house then to the care home.Mum was very tired and in bed.We went in and she opened her eyes, gave us a lovely smile, said I love you then was obviously forcing her eyes to stay open.I said would you like us to come another day, she said yes please and went back to sleep😢The staff are lovely but agreed if we stayed she would force herself to stay awake and she looked exhausted😢

Today DGD is being dropped off after lunch.DD and DGS2 are meeting friends for lunch then the boys have a swimming lesson. They will collect DGD and the dog mid afternoon. We love having the dog but with the bad weather and all the appointments this week it has been tiring.I think once they have gone and we have cleaned the floors we will both fall asleep in front of the tv!

I am so sorry for the worries about your friend cornergran.

What a lovely day out you had madeleine.

Thinking of all our absent and struggling good morning friends and wishing you all the best day possible🌻🦩

Good morning from a calm but dull Stockport.
I feel so sorry for all affected by the bad weather, for some reason, geographically I suppose we get no extremes of weather here.

I have my usual quiet day in prospect broken only by a Sainsbury’s delivery just before lunch, I couldn’t get ny Friday slot, I have noticed since Christmas that slots are getting booked up more, it must be the gloomy weather keeping folk indoors.

Roses one of my friends who I usually see weekly has started being awkward and outspoken, it is upsetting and rude.
I am also rethinking my need to keep it up.

I must rouse myself to get dressed and face the day.
Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning all from a grey but strangely bright West Oxfordshire.

Yesterday’s funeral went well. The church was packed. Some of the children gave eulogies as did the deceased’s brother. His widow gave a beautiful eulogy. I don’t think I’ve been to a funeral where that’s happened before. Actually my 93 year old uncle gave a splendid eulogy at his wife’s/my aunt’s funeral.

Our daughter is arriving this afternoon and will return to London after lunch tomorrow. I am making a chilli con carne for tonight’s dinner. I will be using some chillies which OH has been growing.

Have a good day. Thinking of MD and the FGT2S 🌹

A late good morning from Malta where it’s a fine day with a high of 18°C.

Yesterday’s plans went awry as DD3 brought DGS2 round at 7.30am still in his pjs and slippers. He was not his usual self and just wanted cuddles.

He fell asleep on my knee for an hour then again when I took him with me for my hair appointment. He slept all through it on my lap but perked up when we got back home and he had some chicken broth.

His mum and brother came for him at 3pm but stayed until 5pm by which time I was worn out, having been up at silly o’clock watching tennis.

This morning I got up at 2am to watch a match, then went back to bed and slept until 9am. I’m now watching another match and feeling tired out.

Will have to go out as I need cash and food having missed my planned trip to Lidl yesterday.

Babysitting tonight so it will be a long day.

Best wishes to all, I will now read your posts. Wish I could do so with a coffee in hand but I have a dear little cat curled up on my lap and don’t like to disturb him.🥰

Good morning from Sunnyside (for how long?) sandhills northwest coast. In spite of a bad night the night before, I had a good day, firstly at art, although I wasn’t impressed by my efforts and as it was acrylic, I can paint over it. Everyone else thought it was fine, but I thought it rather twee. I park a little distance from the venue so I don’t have to pay and have started taking a different route which is more interesting and nice to see daffodils in bud.

Son came later and we had the chicken casserole I had made, but found it was not as tasty as I expected and needed more seasoning. I seem to have lost my cooking touch living alone…
He is an owl rather than a lark and we talked and watched tv until late. He’s handy round the house and is doing some jobs for me.

Thoughts to all🌺

A very late good morning Mick and everyone.
I didn't meet my friend yesterday for coffee as I have a rotten cold.
Today I'm spending quietly at home.
Just thankful the cold started after my birthday rather than during as I had three days of meals out.
Thinking of all who are going through sad and difficult times. flowers
