Sending love to the FGTs at the hardest time of all.

Baggs Sun 22-Feb-26 12:52:12

Love and hugs for the FGTs. And thanks to utbb. Empathy from having been there, yes indeed.

Grannmarie Sun 22-Feb-26 16:11:30

Wise words indeed, UsedToBeBlonde, thank you.

I lit candles before Mass this morning, remembered our Soops, FGTS and all with illness, worries or sorrow.

Hoping and praying that Himself is comfortable and pain free, and that he and FGT are supported and surrounded by loved ones. Such a sad time. 🙏🕯💕

Sending my love to FGTs at this most difficult time. 💕

Thanks to Rosie'sMawagain not mentioning names, there was a mix-up. My apologies but I am not a mind reader.

Redcar Sun 22-Feb-26 19:42:54

charleygirl the message from rosieandhermaw wasn’t clear and I wondered afterwards if I’d misunderstood.

gillgran Sun 22-Feb-26 22:43:46

Sadness in soop's aptly named kitchen today.

Warm, caring thoughts, & a gentle (hug), for FGT and all our dear friends. x flowers

SueDonim Sun 22-Feb-26 23:17:02

Sadness is in the Kitchen today, as we think of FGT’s loss. Xxx

I can’t think of anything ‘chatty’ to say tonight, like I suspect most of us FGT2’s sad news has driven everything else from my mind. She is still ‘Urms’ in my thoughts, she and her DH obviously loved each other and their family dearly. It shone through in her posts and I loved reading about their lives. I hope she will feel able to rejoin us at some time in the future 🌹

I have been out today for the first time in a few weeks apart from visiting the surgery.

I have been to the funeral of the H of a friend of mine.
He was 93 and and had lived a very full life, it was the second marriage for both of them, 23 years together and it really was a celebration of his life, not at all sad.
I met up with friends and some neighbours I hadn’t seen for years.
The thing I found interesting was how much some had aged and then realised they would be saying the same about me!!

I came home very tired but happy that I had made the effort and hope now to resume normal life after a few weeks indoors.
The weather stayed fine and it has been very mild.
I hope all is well with the majority of you and our poorlies are comfortable and being well looked after.

Grandmabatty Mon 23-Feb-26 19:26:38

Well done utbb. You made the effort and will have been appreciated.
I've had a busy day but a very pleasant one. I emptied and loaded the dishwasher, did three lots of tumble drying for dd and hoovered. Then I worked in the school library this afternoon. The boys were good until dd picked up dgs2 when he, out of nowhere, started kicking and hitting her. I found it very distressing but she said he behaves like that a lot with them both.
I've had a dinner from the freezer as I couldn't be bothered cooking and I've come to bed to read. Enjoy your evening kitchen folk

I totally endorse what you said. Urms and Marydoll were the two posters who pulled me into the good morning thread.
(Then you, of course)
Sending love to fgt and soop

Thanks to Rosie'sMawagain not mentioning names, there was a mix-up. My apologies but I am not a mind reader.

At the time of writing I did not feel it was appropriate to name names -it was not my news to give- and as most of you knew I was in touch with FGT, I hoped it would be obvious. Apologies for any confusion.

Redcar Mon 23-Feb-26 20:26:47

Well done for going to the funeral utbb, it’s always good to meet up with old friends and neighbours. I hope you’ll be able to resume a normal life after a few weeks indoors. It takes a while to get used to going out again.
I had a walk in the sunshine this morning, then pulled up a few weeds in the garden. Did the ironing and then sat and chilled out for a while. I slept badly last night after a long phone call from an old friend who always makes me depressed!
Thinking of soop and fgt and all who are poorly or worried.

I hope the evening is calm and restful for everyone.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 23-Feb-26 20:34:39

The Imp is here for his weekly sleepover, he was not impressed when he realised DH was going out.

He is now asleep, I have put away the toys and colouring books and pencils.

Thinking of our friends in the quiet corner 🙋‍♀️

kittylester Mon 23-Feb-26 20:34:45

I certainly knew who you meant, maw.

So glad to hear of your good day, Utbb.

brook2704 Mon 23-Feb-26 21:17:05

Well done uttb hoping you can get out and about a bit more now that spring is on its way
Oh dear grandmabatty maybe dgs2 was overtired? Long days take their toll
A busy day here, we weather was ok so we went for a walk along Nairn beach and saw a beautiful rainbow over the sea. We then enjoyed a big bowl of warming soup for lunch at a beachside cafe then home for a rest this evening
Thinking of everyone in the quiet corner, take care all ❤️

SueDonim Mon 23-Feb-26 22:10:22

RosiesMaw you were doing us a kindness and most of us appreciated it. ❤️

I’m glad you’ve been out and about and seeing people, UTTB. It’s like we’re emerging into the sunlight from hibernation, isn’t it? ☀️

Lovely photo, Brook

It’s been a quiet couple of weeks until last weekend for us. Dh’s radiotherapy hit him quite hard and he’s taken a long time to recover from it. He just started to turn the corner yesterday, really. What with that and the miserable weather, we didn’t venture far.

Over the weekend we did more. Ds2 came up with the children for half term and dd2 decided to come as well so it was very busy. I think the dishwasher was on 24/7! We visited a few places and saw dd1 and the GC - it was lovely to see the four cousins playing nicely with each other at board games.

I’ve spent a little time in the garden and today repotted two house plants. How to keep my cats from eating them is a constant battle, though! I’m off out to the hairdresser tomorrow - I’m looking forward to my hair being tidy again.

Sweet dreams! Xxx

brook2704 Mon 23-Feb-26 22:33:22

SueD hoping your DH is feeling a bit better now and you both enjoyed the family time together ❤️
