Thank you RosiesMaw, always thinking of fgt and her DH

kittylester Thu 29-Jan-26 14:13:15

As always thinking of the soops and fgt.

And to say to GG, that was an inspired choice of name.

SueDonim Thu 29-Jan-26 16:05:24

Thank you, Maw. Thinking very much of the FGT’s in their particular circumstances and also of all GNetters who have heavy loads to bear. Xxx

boheminan Thu 29-Jan-26 18:00:00

I've been on GN for many years and recognise most 'pan-handle' names but FGT is puzzling me? It seems like she/he is going through the wars at the moment, and there's such lovely support in this kitchen for her. Could someone enlighten me on her/his full name - and I'll remember (I promise).

LucyAnna5 Thu 29-Jan-26 18:06:48

FGT is FriedGreenTomatoes,previously UrmstonGran.

Allira Thu 29-Jan-26 18:48:47

RosiesMawagain

Without breaking confidence could those who pray keep fgt and her family in your prayers, (in your thoughts, if you don’t) as they go through a very hard time in their lives. She is being amazingly strong but the power of Soop’s Kitchen can only help. 🙏

I don't usually post but do read sometimes.

Thinking of FGT2 and her family at this difficult time 🙏 and sending a virtual hug.

Also thinking of Soop and family.

dustyangel Thu 29-Jan-26 19:18:27

Thank you so much for that hug for us all Pittcity. I need all the hugs available today. DH has been very poorly for quite a while, been in Faro hospital on and off since September and then when we had been advised to think about long term convalescent homes took a turn for the worse and I had a phone call from the hospital on Monday to advise me that he could go at any time.
I’d only seen him the day before.
My two daughters who were due to visit again in February decided to come out straight away and we all went to see and sit with him yesterday afternoon.
I’m so glad we did, it’s been hard as they only allow one visitor at a time, so we had to take it in turns but at least I was able to sit with him a while. Phone call from the hospital mid morning to say that he had died.
My daughters have been wonderful, helping each other and taking on a lot of the paperwork that I would otherwise have to do just when my brain has turned to mush.

Grandmabatty Thu 29-Jan-26 19:22:06

Oh Dustyangel, I'm so sorry to hear about your dear husband. I hope someone is taking care of you too. Come back and tell us about him when you feel able to. My condolences to you all.

SueDonim Thu 29-Jan-26 19:33:01
