It is, hulahoop, very strange.
Thank you.
Hope you're doing ok.
Good Morning Wednesday 27th May 2026
Hope nobody minds me opening a new kitchen.
Cake, Tea & Fizz on the side š°š¾š«

Thank you.

You will all be as relieved as I am that soop is back home. And that the sensible doctor thought she'd be better off out of hospital to spare her the bugs doing the round in the wards. The cancer nurse can send a blood sample to the hospital just as well from soop's home.
Thinking of others going through hard times

Thanks baggs for the update about lovely Soop. I think that makes sense.
I did some washing this morning then went to the school library this afternoon to work with senior pupils who were all delightful. I'm scrolling at the moment because I can't decide what to have for dinner. I suspect I'll have French toast which has the merit of being quick. Enjoy your evening kitchen folk
Thanks, Baggs, for the update. I'm sure Soop will feel much more settled at home.
Condolences to Dustyangel and love and prayers to everyone in need of them.
Thank baggs for the update- as always.
We had a lovely day today.
Yesterday DD2 came and took her dad to the football - they won 4-0 - and stayed the night. It was a break for him from looking after me. Sadly, he still had an awful cold and cough which I am 'suggesting' he takes to see a doctor.
Today, we had a lovely, slow start before she made us her famous egg mayonnaise and bacon sandwiches. She then went home and I went and had a, very much needed pedicure.
Thank you Baggs good to hear.
Hello kitchen people.
Thanks for the update Baggs. Thereās no place like home.
I had a cut and blow dry today. Slightly shorter than usual but it looks good.
We had chicken curry for dinner with rice, naan, yoghurt and aubergine pickle.
Have a good evening everyone.
FGT2s šø
Just back from sorting jumble for tomorrowās mammoth parish sale and am catching up belatedly. Sympathy to dustyangel and loving thoughts to the soops and to the wonderful Marydoll in the hope that life improves soon. This seems to have been a particularly trying January and we need sunshine and good news.
Thank you, Baggs, I'm so pleased that dear soop is back where she belongs with MrSoop. I hope they stay warm & comfortable.
Thinking of you all. x
Thank you for the update Baggs thatās good to hear
Thank you for the update Baggs. Sending love to soop and those who need it.
Sending love to DustyAngel, the SOOPs and FGTs. Such hard times this January. I hope that you find comfort and peace of heart ā„ļø
January has been such a long and difficult month for many of us.
I hope so much that Sunday and a new month will bring lighter days and brighter times.
Thank you baggs. Good to know soop is home safe.
Thank you for the update baggs, Iām delighted that soop is back home with her DH. What a sensible doctor to send her home, away from all the bugs that circulate in hospitals.
Iām just home from a quiz evening, held in a friendās house nearby, there were 10 of us, mostly fiercely competitive but great fun. Iām just winding down before I go to bed, my brain is still buzzing. On occasions āGoogleā was called on to adjudicate on the answers!
Like many others I think this January has been particularly miserable and Iām hoping for better times in February! At least itās a short month.
Night night everyone, sleep tight.
Huzzah! soop is home!
Cloudless skies here in Suffolk after biblical amounts of rain. Rose š„pruning today and a completely empty brown bin. I will do a bit then stop, repeat.
Best wishes to you all
Thank you Baggs so pleased to learn our dear soop is back home.
Just pruned most of the roses and found definite signs of Spring out there. The peonies are showing pink shoots coming out of the soil, snowdrops in bloom and the shoots on the roses beginning to break. Hang on ladies - Spring will be here soon!
A very slow day here at Gravy Grange, a local shop first thing
Then some pottering , read quite a few chapters of one of my books on kindle.
A really lazy dinner this evening of Salmon en Croute curtesy of M & S
Thinking of all our poorly kitcheners and those in the quiet corner šāāļø
I have been very lazy here too, grannygravy. Breakfast with my friend at the garden centre followed by a quick trip to aldi. I stripped the bed and I am drying the sheets at the moment. Dinner will be mince pie with mash and beans. Ds has messaged me to say he's boarding his flight in Lisbon and will be home later. This afternoon I pottered about. Dgs1 was playing football in Edinburgh and did well. Two different premiere team scouts have taken his name. I'm very proud of him. Enjoy your evening all
How lovely nannytopsy, our garden is a few weeks behind up here so Iām having to be patient and wait a while longer ā¦..
DH and I enjoyed a short riverside walk this morning then a good coffee in a local hotel. We then called into DD2s and came away with a few bin bags full of stuff to sort through - either eBay, bin or the charity shop - our job of course! š¤£
Sounds like an upcoming football star there gmbatty well done to your little hero
We enjoyed the M&S Salmon en croute a few days ago GG it was delicious. Thereās talk of a new M&S food shop opening somewhere else in Inverness, it canāt come quick enough for me as the existing one is in the main store in town and thereās no parking nearby
Hoping everyone in the quiet corner is doing ok, take care all x
I hope Soop is comfortable at home now - definitely the best place to be when unwell.
Iām sorry to hear your op has been been postponed, Topsy, hope it goes ahead next time.
I hope youāre recovering too, Jax, youāve certainly been through the meat grinder recently.
Gravy Grange made me laugh. It conjured up an image of a lovely large red brick house with a stream running through the garden, but unfortunately filled with gravy, not water. š
Dh seems to have improved over the past couple of days on a new regime of painkillers and steroids. Heās brighter, eating better and generally more comfortable. He had a date for his measurements scan - this coming Tuesday.
Weāve not done anything of great interest, just plodding our way through January (fewer than six hours to go!). We had our GS yesterday afternoon, a snack out and a visit to the garden centre, which he loves. They have a fish section where we saw some axolotls! Theyāre quite big, I thought they were mouse-sized but no.
Iāve scrutinised our diet to see how to accommodate dhās less-than-hearty appetite, something thatās very new to our marriage of 53+ years! Our medic dd has helped me with ideas for upping his calorie intake and how to adjust from our usual routine to eating little and often. As an incentive, Iāve got an order coming from Waitrose instead of our usual Tesco topped up with M&S foods, with special treats.
Weāve been watching some tv, the prequels to the Yellowstone series, and Iāve an ongoing project to consolidate our CDās into a smaller space. I can now see the light at the end of the tunnel there, hurrah.
Wishing everyone including the FGTās a peaceful night. Xxx
Iāve been feeling like a zombie today. My brain was buzzing last night after the quiz night and I didnāt drop off to sleep until about 2.00am, then woke at 6.00 - very frustrating. I stripped the bed and got the sheets and duvet covers washed and dried. Cleaned the inside of the windows in the front door and managed about 15 minutes in the garden. I cut back a large hardy fuchsia and pulled up a few weeds, and felt better for the exercise. Lots of bulbs showing themselves in the garden too.
I havenāt seen the M&S salmon en croute, I must look when I do the next Ocado order!
Well done to your Dgs1 * grandmabatty*, a future football star coming along?
DD2 says sheāll take me to the local garden centre tomorrow for a coffee and a look round. The last few plants Iāve bought there have died within a few weeks, so I wonāt buy anything tomorrow.
My carās problems are still being investigated, and Iām beginning to miss it!
Have a pleasant evening everyone, keep warm and dry.
Passing on my best wishes to soop and hoping sheās comfortable at home.
Thinking of the FGTs too, on that awful path. šDustyangel
Little sign of Spring here in the NE, Iām so looking forward to February and a new start.
SueDonim my house is red brick, no stream, but I absolutely love gravy
