👋 looks like I’m alone on duty…it’s my monthly shift again and I’ve been awake since 3.30, possibly the excitement of a train trip with my friend this morning to Shrewsbury with shopping, dining and a drink or three 🥂

I’m keeping notes on my poor sleep once a month and for the last six months it’s been pretty constant around mid month - I’m convinced it’s to do with lunar phases!

I can cope with it now I’m retired but it would’ve worried the hell out of me whilst working which would’ve made it a whole lot worse probably, a pattern of days rather than a one off 😵‍💫

HelterSkelter - as I spent yesterday making posies for Mothering Sunday I wanted yi see how they'd be received.
So I went .
Quite successful.
I came home and crashed out on the sofa .

We had a bad day yesterday as our car was suddenly became unwell and had to betaken into the garage. All a bit stressful. So not a good night. We walked into the village this morning for the papers…3 miles round trip, and just managed to to get indoors before the rain. Had breakfast, sat down and we both went off to. Sleep for an hour.
Roll on tonight

HelterSkelter1 Sun 15-Mar-26 07:43:46

Then have a day of rest at home.. Esmay. Warm bath. Hot food. Why push yourself and risk feeling unwell for the coming week.

Another disjointed sleep last night but not too bad. And it looks sunny so far.

Esmay Sun 15-Mar-26 07:03:53

I had a restless night .
Now I feel tired and I don't feel like going to church .

BlueBelle Sun 15-Mar-26 06:47:12

Last night I have done what I haven’t done for a very long time….I dreamt and dreamt, there’s not much I can remember but bits are still there which is unusual as of late
I used to have vivid dreams but for a long time now I seem to have not dreamt

Moth62 Sun 15-Mar-26 04:17:21

Slept like a log for three solid hours, then woke up thinking it was morning to find out it was actually only five to three! I’ve listened to radio 3 for a while.

Gymstagran Sat 14-Mar-26 06:17:00

Been awake since 2am, now trying to see if i can nap for an hour

Esmay Sat 14-Mar-26 05:51:57

I have slept better for a couple of nights ,but last night I woke up .
My feet felt like two blocks of ice .
And hurt !

grandMattie Sat 14-Mar-26 05:33:56

Me too, I’ve been awake for several hours, have given up and am drinking my TIB, finished my book and am waiting for dawn.
I have felt very unwell all week and hope today will be better.
The Dawn chorus is starting up - I can recognise robins, dunnocks, chiffchaffs, and probably bluetits (whose song I don’t know!).
Have a good day all.

Moth62 Sat 14-Mar-26 04:33:51

I’ve been thrashing about for the last couple of hours, so I’ve given up and got up to make a hot drink and read my book.

Bedfordshire here as well.

Nannytopsy Fri 13-Mar-26 10:11:51

Bedfordshire in our house too!

Doodledog Fri 13-Mar-26 08:45:51

It was Bedfordshire in our house too😀.

I nodded off about 15 mins before the alarm - I could cry.

HelterSkelter1 Fri 13-Mar-26 08:31:25

I went up the wooden hill to Bedfordshire!

BlueBelle Fri 13-Mar-26 07:31:47

When I was young I use to ‘go up the wooden hill to the land of nod’ when going up the stairs to bed

HelterSkelter1 Fri 13-Mar-26 07:28:10

I have just looked up the land of Nod which grandmattie and I both mentioned. It comes originally from the Bible meaning a place of exile from God and place of spiritual restlessness. So I really don't hope you are all there.
It also comes from Gullivers Travels and from Jonathen Swifts other books.
I only know it from maybe nursery rhyme books or children's stories meaning a place where you nod off.
Every day a school day.

BlueBelle Fri 13-Mar-26 05:46:46

Morning everyone
Haha we re all doing puzzles I m on Sudukos 🤣

grandMattie Fri 13-Mar-26 04:10:45

Grrr
I’ve been awake for the last 2 hours, trying to get back to sleep - just thoughts drifting around, not getting worried or annoyed.
I’ve given up and hope I manage a short nap this afternoon.
This the second week that everything is happening. I’ve got my Spanish class this morning, then a church tea which I’ve accepted and can’t get out of, and a very important and difficult WI committee meeting this evening!
Hope most of you are in the land of Nod.🙂‍↕️

Doodledog Fri 13-Mar-26 03:47:39

I’ve just done he Gridogram. I need to be up fairly early this morning- maddening, isn’t it?

Nannytopsy Fri 13-Mar-26 03:45:56

Just done Wordle and read parts of the Guardian. I will try to sleep again …

JamesandJon33 Fri 13-Mar-26 01:58:24

Me too. Just finished Solitaire and a few chapters on my kindle. Will try a snooze in a mo.

HelterSkelter1 Fri 13-Mar-26 01:35:52

Wide awake at 1.30! I fell asleep around 9 woke at 11.00 for about 15 minutes. Back to sleep and now here I am ready for. Wordle.
Then back to sleep again.
I hope I am the only one and everyone else is in the land of nod,

Esmay Thu 12-Mar-26 09:34:12

I think that I drifted off around eleven and woke up ar nine -unbelievable!

Haven't slept like that for over two and a half years .

I was restless in my slumbers and feel that I dreamt a lot.
But hopefully,
my sleep patterns are reverting to normal .

Moth62 Thu 12-Mar-26 07:56:39

Finally dropped off after trying my old trick of listing characters from Jane Austen novels alphabetically! Set the alarm for 7:30 and switched it off twice before dragging myself out of bed. [confusedconfused]
