Morning all . A good night for a change. Straight through until 5:30, with just one loo visit.

Moth62 Thu 12-Mar-26 02:55:34

That’s me in the Wide Awake Club again. I knew I should have kept my mouth shut about sleeping well for the past week! I have lots to think about at the moment, so my mind is in overdrive. I’ve been up and made hot milk and read a bit of my book, now back and trying to sleep. We’ve a neighbour’s funeral later today, which I think is also playing on my mind. I’ll look in later if I’m still not asleep to see if anyone else is also awake.

Good news HelterSkelter1

I’m just off to bed now, it’s blowing an absolute gale outside, but I’ve got Judge Judy on my bedroom tv, until I feel ready to settle down.

HelterSkelter1 Wed 11-Mar-26 13:55:39

Thank you crazyH. Yes all good. Next check up 4 months time.

crazyH Wed 11-Mar-26 13:53:40

Hope all is good Helterskelter 🤞

Another bad night. A health condition I have flared up and I was in pain. I went to bed at 3.30 and got up at about 11am today. I am retired and will just chill today.
I have given up worrying now about having late mornings. I will shower and get dressed after I have done the housework them I will go out for a couple if hours.
I am feeling depressed at the moment so am forcing myself to do things to up my mood.

HelterSkelter1 Wed 11-Mar-26 07:32:54

Last night I slept not badly considering I have a telephone cancer check up today which normally keeps me very wakeful the night before. Touch wood I am not getting a bit blasé as it's almost 5 years remission. Fingers crossed.

HelterSkelter1 Wed 11-Mar-26 07:29:47

Bluebelle yes anything above 5 hours is fine for me. I think I would qualify as an "awkward guest" with my night time wanderings. Like the one on another thread except I don't eat just fish!!

BlueBelle Wed 11-Mar-26 05:59:29

Helterskelter you’re flying ahead of yourself with all the what ifs
You ve had about 7 hours sleep with a wake in the middle which is perfectly normal especially as we get older You ll be fine

BlueBelle Wed 11-Mar-26 05:54:57

No I m awake Nannytopsy had my usual 4 hours and happy with that
Try not to equate ‘not sleeping’ with having a bad day you ll be fine and maybe sleep better tonight Have a good day anyway

Nannytopsy Wed 11-Mar-26 05:29:24

Bed at 11.30 then woke at 3. I have been awake for 2 1/2 hours. My mind is bouncing around all kinds of irrelevant thoughts. Of course, I have lots to do tomorrow and don’t want to be a zombie.
It seems that the rest of you are asleep tonight!

Doodledog

I’m wide awake despite not going to bed until 1.00. I have a busy day ahead, including a morning Zoom class (where I will no doubt look like the living dead), and I’m very tired. I really wish someone would invent a sleeping pill with no addictive properties (and that could be bought over the counter).

Ask at your pharmacy. There are things you can take for a week or so. Sleepease. They must have something in them that dehydrates you but worth a try perhaps.

Woke up some timecago .
I felt as though I'd been dreaming for hours, bit it was probably just a few minutes
I'm watching DavidcCopperfield on channel 98 freeview .
It's a nice film!
I seem to doze off during the early part of the evening.
It's become a pattern .

Doodledog Tue 10-Mar-26 04:56:17

Sorry - too tired for manners🙄. Good morning all.

Not a wink so far. I’m sort of used to it although I don’t like the effect on me. Strangely I’ll be fine today, Tuesday, it will hit me hard on Wednesday. Oh well back to the book. Maybe I need to find one that’s boring and will send me to sleep 😂.

JamesandJon33 Tue 10-Mar-26 02:48:47

Morning all. Definitely the 3am crew today. Very busy yesterday so thought I might sleep well tonight. Wrong !

HelterSkelter1 Mon 09-Mar-26 05:31:22

Asleep about 9 then woke at 2. Back to sleep at 3.30 and awake at 5. So disjointed but all in all about 7 hours sleep so that's fine.
I was thinking just now that all this going to bed early evening and getting up etc is possible as I am at home. But how on earth would I be if I were staying away from home. Can hardly disappear off to bed straight after the evening meal and wander about at night. My daughters would be fine, but my sister would make such a fuss and friends would be bemused. Oh well don't have to worry about that for a while. I am not going anywhere...sadly.

grandMattie Mon 09-Mar-26 05:30:32

I try not nap these days and seem to sleep better, but after last night’s effort, I shall.
My 3 hours were very agitated, hot/cold, etc…

Georgesgran Mon 09-Mar-26 05:13:10

I woke up at 4pm - just 3 hours sleep, but it’s deep sleep and I feel rested. Going to make a cuppa and bring it back to bed. I don’t nap during the day.

grandMattie Mon 09-Mar-26 04:55:54

Payback time last night.
I barely slept, partly because my digestion was dodgy. I don’t know how I shall cope with today. I’ll try and have a sleep (in bed) after lunch, if I eat it. Absolutely not hungry.

Moth62 Sun 08-Mar-26 09:46:11

For some reason, I have been managing not to lie awake for the last week or so. (I know, I shall probably regret admitting to that now). Very late to bed last night and not even up for a “comfort break”, amazingly. I am doing nothing different, so I have absolutely no idea why sometimes I wake up for hours on end. Ah, well, all part of life’s rich tapestry, as they say.

rafichagran Sun 08-Mar-26 05:18:46

I have been up since 3am. I should sleep as I have got a virus and have been tired all day, but no snother bad night
Oh well I will sleep in this morning if I can.

grandMattie Sun 08-Mar-26 05:00:16

Hate to show off, but… after another string of dodgy nights,I slept so well last night; an unusual 6 hours.
I have had a frantically busy week and a string of bad nights despite having been wiped out, so this is so very welcome.
I have been trying to avoid a short afternoon nap, but that hasn’t helped.
I’m so envious of my mum who could sleep 10 hours given the chance.

Gymstagran Sun 08-Mar-26 04:54:09

Rubbish sleep, I walked the parkrun yesterday then went shopping with grandaughter, over 15000 steps. Knees and hips ached all night . Who said excercise is good for you!
