GrannyGravy13 I don't open devices during the night. I'd read about how the blue light from mobile phones and laptops mess up circadian rhythms and affect sleep. It's when I wake later that I read the comments. It has been very reassuring.

MayBee70 I totally agree regarding Januaryitis

I am writing off this month, roll on Sunday 1st February.

I shall give my head a wobble, along with a stern lecture to the inner me, to crack on regardless.

(Mind you my sofa and kindle are so comforting)

I seem to be unable to leave the sofa and the dog and even when I wake up feeling that I’ve actually had enough sleep find myself nodding off again. I felt more motivated yesterday because it stopped raining and there was even a patch of blue sky. However I’m now glued to the sofa again. I’ve decided it’s January’itis and am planning to start afresh in February.

I am another one who wakes nightly anytime between 1-3am and then struggles to get back to sleep.

Interesting that you say having virtual contact Aveline has helped with your sleep.

I am reluctant to look at devices though, I have set a limit of 5am before reading or scrolling.

Since joining this thread I've been so incredibly relieved to find it's not just me awake in the wee small hours. It's helped me to relax into sleep and hence to sleep much better and for longer. I'm so grateful. Thank you BlueBelle.
