This ghastly person and his gang seem to be everywhere in the news.
It's utterly depressing.

Crikey I’ve been following Pam Bondi’s testimony. She is a fish squirming on a hook.

Well, she didn't do herself any favours, did she.

I only saw her on the ITV News but she refused to turn around and look the Epstein victims in the eye.

Jayapal then turned back to Bondi and asked: “Will you turn to them now and apologize for what your Department of Justice has put them through with the absolutely unacceptable release of the Epstein files and their information?”

Bondi did not turn to address the victims, instead beginning to talk about her predecessor, Merrick Garland. After Jayapal again asked her to turn and apologize, the Attorney General refused, and said, “I’m not going to get in the gutter for her theatrics.”

Did she really refuse to speak to them because she didn't want to get in the gutter? Or did I misunderstand?

And though of course we don’t know if they’re true, the allegations are about a convicted felon, who we heard say women would let you do anything, gran their pussy, if you’re rich

Epstein files are lead on the CNN website.
"In an email later in July, a person at the FBI was asked to write summaries of “salacious statements” made about 13 people, including Trump, Clinton, Mountbatten-Windsor, billionaire Leon Black, and ex-movie mogul Harvey Weinstein.

Among the short statements provided were details of newly disclosed but unverified claims of sexual assault made against Trump, along with similar claims against Weinstein and Black."

Not saying these allegations were true but they were made!

I actually think Trump is her biggest threat.

I think she would 🤐
The Maxwells tend to be strangers to truth, decency and the law.

foxie48 Tue 10-Feb-26 11:01:45

I actually think Trump is her biggest threat. I can't help thinking that if Trump had nothing to hide he would have had the files released in a timely fashion but his strategy has been to try to delay the release, get them redacted and do some pretty weird things to try to take the attention away from them. But they are just not going away, are they?

Allira Tue 10-Feb-26 10:30:12

I wonder how safe she is in prison?

Well, her dearest friend wasn't safe, was he!
I expect she is, no-one would dare now Trump's people have got involved.

If released, would she come back to the UK, I wonder? 😲
She has got triple nationality, France and USA too.

foxie48 Tue 10-Feb-26 09:46:58

Maxwell is trying to buy herself out of jail with the only currency she has ie concealing the truth. She managed to get herself moved from a high security prison to a much nicer facility days after talking to Trump's people, she obviously cut some sort of deal. If she manages to get even better terms by continuing to conceal the truth, it won't clear Trump of wrong doing tbh it just makes him look even more guilty. I wonder how safe she is in prison?

Maxwell asking for clemency if she clears Trump puts him up to his neck in the mire.

Chocolatelovinggran Tue 10-Feb-26 09:00:16

Indeed Iam64, Ms Maxwell asking for clemency from a man featured heavily in the files, as her price for her testimony- nothing fishy in that at all.

Iam64 Tue 10-Feb-26 08:52:22

As if anything Maxwell says can be believed.

Casdon Tue 10-Feb-26 08:06:58

The repercussions are reverberating around the world now. We are too focussed here on what is happening in the UK only I think, but slowly the big picture is emerging. I saw Ghislaine Maxwell has said that for clemency she will put Trump in the clear, but it’s beginning to look like her original testimony is full of holes, and the genie is out of the bottle.

The unredacted files are starting to be viewed by Congress.

I saw Raskin threatening to read the unredacted files aloud on the floor of Congress, where he can not be charged criminally for doing so.

"Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), ranking member of the House Judiciary Committee, spoke to reporters after his own review of unredacted files held by the Justice Department related to its investigation of Jeffrey Epstein. He accused the Justice Department of making numerous "completely unnecessary" redactions that he said appeared to protect President Trump and former Victoria's Secret CEO Les Wexner, among others, and questioned whether the Epstein Files Transparency Act, signed into law in late 2025, was being fully followed by the Trump administration."

There is also an issue with co-conspirators that is about to blow up, IMO.

This will be interesting.

Ah, I was referring to the aide to Andrew, David Stern, who orchestrated many of his meetings with Epstein and trysts with woman recommended to him by Epstein. The 2010 meeting was mentioned in the post yesterday. I would imagine it was he who was the advisor the Kings advisor liaised with. It’s hard to tell from your post if the King’s advisor did anything other than his job, but if he did, that needs to come out as well. No doubt more will follow if there was any wrongdoing. In the meantime, Stern is being hinted for to see if he will give any evidence.

Samwam Mon 09-Feb-26 09:49:33

Okay Casdon I don't know what you posted. I just read this.

King Charles's aide is believed to have overseen royal protection at Jeffrey Epstein's home, according to the latest emails that have been released.
Peter Loughborough, who currently serves as lord steward to King Charles, has become embroiled in the Jeffrey Epstein scandal following revelations about two Metropolitan Police protection officers who appear to have resided at the convicted sex offender's New York property for over a week.
Mr Loughborough, then commanding Scotland Yard's royalty and diplomatic protection unit, allegedly supervised the decision permitting the elite officers to accept Epstein's hospitality while guarding the then-Prince Andrew during a 2010 US trip.
The financier had already served an 18-month prison sentence after being convicted of soliciting prostitution from a minor in June 2008.

Casdon Mon 09-Feb-26 09:29:23

You’ve misread this Samwam, it was Andrew’s aide, not the King’s. I posted the story from the news yesterday.

Sergey Lavrov, was Johnson ever on his radar?

Casdon Sun 08-Feb-26 16:56:59

It looks as though Epstein may have been selling the dirt on high profile figures to Russia. It gets worse.

Yes Cariad, I wonder if some of them thought they were actually friends?

I think if people have their egos pampered, and are given what they want, some will think you are their friend. Foolishness is no doubt equally prevalent in the rich and famous as it is in the rest of the population?

Yes Cariad, I wonder if some of them thought they were actually friends?

It's a not unknown tactic to pretend to be friends with someone - in order to get to use them one way or another.

eazybee Sun 08-Feb-26 14:51:11

Morgan McSweeney has gone, sacrificial lamb.

"The decision to appoint Mandelson was wrong."
"I advised the PM to make the appointment."
"I take full responsibility for that advice."

If it were possible to despise Starmer any more, I would.

The government has lost all credibility at the present time, and the revelations have not finished coming. It will take time for them to regain trust, which is sad for the bulk of Labour MPs.

The so-called elite are setting a poor example by circling round the (possibly) vacant leadership at a time of crisis. Unity is what is required, but Starmer has to go; he has made too many mistakes.
