I feel all this disgusting news that surrounds ‘ Epstein’ has eroded my faith in government..all the lies and scandals

The shame that had been put upon King Charles it’s such an embarrassment for Britain and when does it stop?

I think he is about to learn how to look after himself as it would appear that the Staff do not wish to work for him.

Good for them.

If Andrew was a non royal, he would have been investigated, charged, and if convicted, would be in a cell by now …

Strawman.

If AMW wasn't royal, Epstein wouldn't have befriended him.

*Well, I don't want any of the tax I pay going towards his or his ex-wife's keep so his brother can continue paying his keep as far as I'm concerned*

But taxpayers are paying for him still - the security is immense at Sandringham and we pay for it. It is also a vast property passed from royal to royal without any inheritance tax being paid - we are being scammed daily by this nonsense while we scurry round trying to collect more money from the public to keep public services afloat.

Quite!

We certainly aren't getting value for our money when they're taking such vast amounts of it from us and certainly not giving us anything like "our value for our money".

Time (beyond time!) to get rid and be a republic. I've never seen why people should automatically acquire a prestigious and very well-paid job just from being born in the right bed.

Apart from joking there’s nothing that someone in Andrew’s position could do in the world of work.

I'd think he could be a gardner on his brother's estate. He could wash windows, keep the vehicles clean, wash laundry, change sheets.

I'd imagine he'd be a capable putzfrau.

King Charles isn’t snowy white either. He wanted to be a tampon. There’s a saying all power corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely. It does make you lose faith.

If you are going to bring up a private telephone call which was hacked and sold to the press at least get the detail right. He did not ‘want to be a tampon’, quite the opposite in fact.

Jane43 It's you who need to get your facts right , It's there for all to read if they so wanted..

I won't lower the tone by copying and paste it unless you want to continue to deny!

Well, children, I shall lower the tone. Jane43 is correct. She asked what he was going to turn into, and he said, ‘ Or, God forbid, a Tampax. Just my luck’
Over and out.

But it was £12 million of private wealth, not public wealth and most very wealthy people could probably do that - Look what many wealthy people spend on just their London houses.

Buy a house/apartment for north of £20 million and then spend another £10 million doing it up.

StoneofDestiny Sat 07-Feb-26 11:05:09

But what good would voting for a president do when we can’t even elect a decent prime minister?

We are responsible for giving power to those we vote for. We should not be giving power in any form to unelected royals. We talk about their ‘soft power’ but clearly controlling the police, royal protection officers and what the media get to print is far from ‘soft power’. Having the ability to whistle up £12 million to keep Andrew out of court is not ‘soft power’ either.

It is there for all to read because it was hacked.

I won't quote the obvious.

Questions are now being asked about how involved the York sisters were with Epstein, as it’s said they had lunch with him in Miami days after he was released from prison.
They were adults then.
It’s also said they gave Epstein’s guests a tour of Buckingham Palace.
BBC news this morning.

I dare say Andrew could mop a floor or load a washing machine in a Care Home for example.
He appears to be able bodied.

Perhaps they could, shock, horror, work for a living, Allira?

Who would employ them or take them on or support a business they might start?

Allira in the US case they voted for their President - so they are responsible. They can also get rid of their President. We have unelected Royals and we have no choice but to pay for their lifestyle and security.

But what good would voting for a president do when we can’t even elect a decent prime minister?

The point is that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is not our Head of State, nor likely to be.

In a Constitutional Monarchy, the Head of State does not have the powers that most Presidents have.

What else can the King do, he has taken away every title and honour and responsibility AMW has, dehoused him and rehoused him in a small house (by his standards) in remote rural spot. Cut him out of family gatherings.

I am darn sure the king will be putting pressure on his son to to come clean on everything and make statement to the US authorities in the UK. But if AMW will not the King can do no more than we could in that situation.

He could stop supporting him financially.

Prince Edward was asked if the Royal Family was going to support the Victims? He, IMO, nearly answered the reporters question by the look on his face.. Prince Edward then collected himself and walked on…

Cannot imagine the conversations going on inside The Palace.. must be a truly awful atmosphere…

Andrew MW won’t be testifying anything, neither will any royals or protection officers.
The late Queen only paid out the 12 million to avoid any hints of scandal affecting the RF not because she thought it was true.
