Good morning from a quiet, calm and wet Cornwall.

My ex daughter-in-law, the arty one, popped in yesterday. We haven't seen each other for a month, unusually. She was looking as gorgeous as ever, very pre-Raphaelite with her long red hair and full length dress quite damp around the hem. 😁 She left with a box of freshly made gingerbread cookies for my 16-year-old grandson. I've an invitation to eat at theirs over the weekend.

Made some ear-rings from copper pressed with lace through rollers last night. I realised how much we've already learnt as we had freedom to get on with our projects with minimal supervision. I'm quite a dab hand with a blow torch now. 😂

There's a half hour wait between the two buses that take me home and I found a Subway open and sat in there with a caffeinated coffee (no decaf available) wondering if I'd sleep with it in my system. Home at 11pm to lights twinkling in the rain outside the nearby pubs, quite magical, and yes, I did sleep! A message came from my single younger son asking me out for a meal on either Friday or Saturday. I pointed out that Saturday is Valentine's Day. He laughed and we agreed to meet on Friday.

Today I'm carting my friend's very heavy curtains to a local seamstress as the hems have defeated me. Then I'll take a bus to my favourite library to catch up with my Lego colleague as we've been ships that pass in the night lately.

What is a “virus shawl”, RandL?

Good morning, needless to say it’s raining here on the hillside in south Glos, another wet day ahead.
Yesterday was dismal although it did slightly brighten up for 10 minutes early afternoon.
I gave the bathroom a look a thorough clean, they weren’t dirty just a bit dusty and everything is clean and shiny now.
Tiddler has her annual vaccinations this morning, I will walk her first before driving to the vets in a nearby town. I can go to the lovely greengrocers afterwards, stock up on fruit and veg.
Nothing else planned but I will do more of my virus shawl. I think I have got the hang of the pattern 🤞🏻🤞🏻 after much unraveling!
I hope today goes well for you all 🌹

Good morning from Malta where it looks like another fine day with a high of 16°C.

Yesterday was sunny and I enjoyed my walk up to meet my friend for coffee. She’s a lovely person, always cheerful.

I might go to Lidl today but really need to clean the fridge before I refill it. Otherwise my usual pottering about the house.

Wishing you all a good day.🤗

Good morning from Bristol.
When I moved from a dry SE, I realised that in the West Country, it either was raining, had rained or was about to rain. This winter has proved me right.
The plasterer did come except he wasn’t one! More waiting for the right person to have a look.
FAB cafe this morning, the my library book group. The story was rather silly, but was interesting re. a group of women taking books round the wilds of Wisconsin, helping the illiterate to read and educate themselves, but also “illegally” lending Marie Stopes’ book.
Have a good day all. 💐 to fgt and md’s family.
