Good morning everyone from sunny Lancashire.

Plumbing issues now all resolved, it took most of Monday. My eye is now settling down after its most recent botox treatment. MrB and I have enjoyed a circular walk around the Dock then passed a little time watching some interesting activity in the boatyard.

Marydoll flowers I’m so pleased to hear your DiL is improving.

Best wishes to all who are struggling with life at the moment.

Wishing you all a good day, whatever you’re doing.

Late Good Morning from Durham - yes, it’s raining again. Could be worse, with snow, sleet or hail forecast in higher areas.
Just off for my weekly coffee with my oldest work colleague - 55 years now!
Just wanted to read Marydoll’s post and say how relieved I am to read things are moving forwards and upwards too. X

Best wishes to all. X

Yet another damp, grey morning; it’s getting harder to feel positive about life but surely spring can’t be far away. Am off to the theatre later - the play was chosen last October and I can’t remember what it is, but am going with a friend and having lunch first so am looking forward to a good day.

Slightly better news from some posters but no news of the FGTs so love and thoughts to them and all having an anxious time.

Good morning from a bright northwest coast. Interesting day yesterday with a good lunchtime recital given by a classical singer, then the opera co. rehearsal in the evening with drinks afterwards with my old pals. We stretch back a long time.

Work has started on the roof and I’ve given the two chaps Earl Grey tea by mistake. Too late now, so I hope they like it!

I’m off into the city again, this time by train, for lunch with pianist friend. He’s seventy this month so I’m taking a homemade card and a present. I might even pay for his lunch…
Thoughts to FGTs and all with worries 🌺

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Cold and wet here too.
Yoga this morning. My prospective house buyer this afternoon and ceilidh dancing tonight.
Somewhere in between I shall wash the kitchen floor.

The smart meter was installed yesterday by an engineer from Cornwall. He took 3 hours but it looks a neat job and works.

That's good news Marydoll. I'm glad your DiL is on the mend.
Emotions will be running high though.

What a nuisance baubles that DH must wait again.

Wishing you all a pleasant day.

Good Morning, guess what , it’s cold wet etc here in Co Armagh
Actually we sometimes get completely different weather here from the rest of the county, it’s because we are in a valley, the canal and tow path divides our village
Got out to the Club yesterday , so back to nearly normal , so going to Mass now
🙏🏼💐

I bought this from QVC, because the silicone sheets didn't work for me.
It is amazing!

harrigran Thu 12-Feb-26 08:38:58

Good morning from a grey and rainy NE yet again.
Sister and BIL visited yesterday and we chatted for a couple of hours.
Today SIL is visiting and we will do a grocery shop. He helps if I have any technology issues, for once I appear to be problem free.
Thoughts are with poorly people.

BlueSapphire Thu 12-Feb-26 08:24:55

Good morning everyone from a drier and brighter Northampton, although showers are.forecast later. If it looks reasonably dry I may pop down to the vets in the village to pick up some medication for the cats.

Another quiet day at home yesterday; washed the towels, had a tidy round and dealt with a Waitrose delivery. I had ordered a quantity of meat, chicken etc, which needed decanting into freezer boxes, and then into the garage freezer. Have kept some chicken thighs in the fridge as I plan on making a large curry tomorrow.
Watched the Olympics ice dancing on tv last night which was beautiful - one could see how much they were influenced by Torvill and Deane's ground-breaking Bolero 40 odd years ago.

A neighbour is coming for coffee this morning and looking forward to the catch-up. I will get some mince pies out of the freezer to go with the coffee. I am planning on putting a load of washing in while she is here, which will be ready for drying afterwards.

Then an afternoon spent reading or knitting, followed by the last of my chicken soup for dinner.

Glad to read some good news from Marydoll.

Wishing all a pleasant day.

Good morning all from a dull Black country, yesterday we did see a little bit of sunshine.
The boys were very good yesterday Dgs1 came out of school with a guitar that's the latest instrument he is learning, he informed me he can play ACDC highway to hell plus a few other heavy metal tunes. I also learned he is to represent his school in a maths contest he is taking after his dad as regards his maths and his mom for the music.
Ironing today and out with friends later.
Glad there is some improvement in Marydoll DiL.
Have the best day you can everyone whatever your plans and may you all find a little bit of ☀️.

llfl a day in sounds good
Best wishes

NannyJan53 Thu 12-Feb-26 08:03:28

Good morning from yet another damp and grey Black Country, it rained quite heavily for a few hours yesterday.

My friend and I had a couple of lovely hours over lunch in a nearby pub. We were surprised that the car park was so busy. Turned out on Wednesday they had a 'Wednesday Warmer' 2 courses £15. We had roast beef and all the trimmings, and apple crumble and custard. Bargain! It was really tasty. Didn't need a meal in the evening. Then back home for a cuppa and more chat.

Decided not to go on my Thursday walk today at the local country park, as it will be so muddy and treacherous underfoot, as quite hilly in places. Such a shame as I need a walk! Last week on a walk along the canal, it was raining quite heavily, I had my hood up and didn't see the canal bridge, didn't duck in time and banged my head! Still have a lovely bruise!

So pleased your DIL is slowly recovering MD

Thoughts with FGT's

Wishing you all the best day possible.

Good morning everfrom Inverness, it’s grey and cloudy but dry
Enjoy your day out Susan and good luck to your DGD this evening
I’m hoping it stays dry as DH and I are off out for a little walk somewhere today, we’ve not decided exactly where yet. We’ll call into a cafe for a treat too. It’s still a bit too cold to spend a long time in the garden so at least we’ll be outside doing something.
Hope you feel much better soon llfl
How frustrating again Baubles
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Liberty Thu 12-Feb-26 07:50:41

Good morning from a colder but dry Suffolk. No rain for at least 18 hours now! We have had a rookery in the copse of ash trees at the end of the garden near the pond and the birds have been extremely busy from dawn until mid morning building their nests in several trees new to them. For the last 2 or 3 years they’ve used their old trees but this year those have been abandoned and new ones are being constructed very noisily.

It’s my stretch class this morning and DH is about to leave for a hospital appt in Norwich. I’ll do a short walk with the little dog who will have to spend a couple of hours by herself. She’ll a e the chirruping of the rooks for company.

I hope that MD’s DDinL will have a better day and anyone else who is suffering or caring for another who is ill and a good day for everyone .

Gingster Thu 12-Feb-26 07:39:07

Good morning all .

Yesterday’s DVLA eye test went ok, I think, but I have to wait for results for a ‘few weeks’ 🙄. Another eye test today that I should have had after the last cataract operation. 👀. Probably new prescription and new glasses. 💷.

DGD has a school disco . 4.30 - 5.30.ill be up and down to the school like a yo-yo. Tomorrow is Wild Hair Day.oh dear!

Like you Sar I had a restless night. Once awake, the worries and thoughts just crowd in , don’t they 🤯. Glad your dh is doing well.

Take care and have the best day you can. 🌱

Redcar Thu 12-Feb-26 07:37:59

Good morning everyone from a damp mid Essex. A clear sky and 6 degrees at the moment. The clear sky won’t last as rain is forecast for later. We did have a few glimpses of the sun yesterday, which prompted me to cut back one of the rampant perennials in the front garden. It was taking up a large amount of space and suffocating a couple of other plants.

I have to wait in to sign for a parcel today, so will start to put things together ready for a weekend away. We will be celebrating DD1s 50th birthday tomorrow somewhere on the south coast. The dynamic for these family occasions has changed - my DDs and sons inlaw now arrange everything and I just fit in with what’s been arranged. I know that I’m lucky that I’m included!

llfl I hope that a duvet day does the trick and you soon feel better.

Hoping that those with medical appointments today have good outcomes.

Thinking of marydoll and her family and hoping that her DDil is beginning to recover. Also thinking of the fgts.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently a wintry 2° and wet. Yesterday it poured all day. Despite the weather, I had a nice day. My hairdresser made the most of my hair. I have very little hair and he's been encouraging it to grow into a bob. After that, I worked in the school library for an hour and enjoyed that too. Back home, I tidied up everywhere and hoovered too. Then a friend picked me up and we went for coffee and a blether. It's a nice café she takes me to, overlooking the cricket ground. At night I made a caesar salad for dinner and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Today will be a quiet day. Like elsewhere, snow and sleet are forecast. My plan is to make soup and maybe a lasagne and catch up on the Winter Olympics. Have a good day all.

Greyduster Thu 12-Feb-26 07:30:04

Madelaine I also have difficulty opening jars etc and have a pack of thin silicone discs which you put over the jar or bottle top and they seem to work like magic. They come in packs of different sizes and are readily available on the internet.

baubles Thu 12-Feb-26 07:28:35

Good morning from wet South Lanarkshire.

A disappointing day yesterday. DH was all ready for surgery, he was going through questions with the nurse and mentioned that he had a spot of some sort on his shin which had appeared the day before. She called the surgeon to have a look as she thought it may have been an insect bite. Anyhoo the upshot was that as there was a risk of infection the surgery was postponed again. Rescheduled for the beginning of next month.

We’re now going to do our usual school run today so at least we’re being useful.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Marydoll Thu 12-Feb-26 07:23:50

Good morning all from a cold Glasgow, where it is 2°C, with snow predicted. 😱

I am going to start with good news, DIL was moved out of HDU last night. She still has a long way to go and needed a new feeding line put in last night, because the one in her neck was quite painful.

We went up yesterday and found DS, sitting outside the ward , in a foul mood. He hadn't been allowed in, as DIL was getting a wash etc.
We were half way into the unit, when we were asked to leave again, which didn't help.
Nothing I could do or say was right, which didn't help my low mood,
I know he is suffering, but so are we all. I am still having episodes of vertigo, albeit, not as severely and it had taken an effort to get there..

It was awful in the ward, two of the patients had staff sitting at their beside, they were so ill and the lady next to DIL, had broken her spine and remembered nothing about her fall. 😪

On the way home, after getting off the bus, I popped into Poundstretcher for chocolate for Dollie. (} had no Mint Aeros, when she looked in the sweetie drawer,).
Before I knew it, the basket was full of DH's pickings. He was the man, who had huffed and puffed about going in.
It is a small shopping centre, with only a few shops, but I spotted a 70%off sign in New Look. Oh great joy!
After only five minutes in the store and I came out with two, Blue Vanilla sweaters, it is a brand, I like and the fit suits me perfectly, one was only £8.

On a lighter note, I persuade DS to go to football training and leave Dollie here,
She was quite tearful, when she arrived, I couldn't work out why her hands were inside her onsie sleeves, Then I saw her nails, Scarlet woman came to mind, Her nails were a bright shade of vermillion.
I asked if Daddy knew, of course he didn't,.
I wanted them to match the tartan brooch, you were making for school tomorrow, Daddy will be so angry, when he sees my nails.
I explained that red nails are not part of school uniform and what if she had spilled it on her new carpet,
It's OK, I put two pieces of toilet paper down, said the bold Dollie,
I was trying so hard not to laugh, especially, when she said, that she had tried to wash it off with soap.♥️
By the time DS came home ( in a better mood), all was well, her nails were au natural.
However, I asked her to tell DS, what she had done, He explained, that he wasn't angry, but her parents had to be present if she wanted to do it.

We have Babydoll in about twenty minutes, a long day ahead.

Thank you all for you kindness and prayers, it has helped me so much. ♥️

P.S. my very amateurish brooch, made from tartan ribbon, from DD's Pandemic wedding,

Susan56 Thu 12-Feb-26 07:18:25

Good morning from Shropshire.Sunshine and showers forecast today.

We are off to Manchester for the day.DGD is singing in the Young Voices concert tonight.I am quite nervous as it is the first time since I was ill that we are going out without the security of the car as we are going on the coach with the school.
I have to take quite a lot of medication etc out with me and usually have it all in a separate bag but have had to pare everything down to one bag.I am sure I will feel better once we are on the coach and the children are all so excited so should be a good day.

Hoping to hear that Marydoll’s DIL is starting to improve🙏🏻thoughts are with all struggling.

Wishing everyone the best day possible🦩🌻

ginny Thu 12-Feb-26 07:13:13

Good morning. I’ve not looked out yet but I doubt there is much exciting to say about the weather.
Must get up and get going as it is my Art course day and I like to arrive a bit early to ensure a parking spot.
Sewing group this afternoon then I’ll pop in to DD3 who heard yesterday that she had been successful in the job interview she had on Friday.
Wishing all a good day with a smile along the way.

cornergran Thu 12-Feb-26 07:12:40

Morning Mick, morning All. I’ll not comment in the weather in our quietly sinking corner of Somerset.

Yesterday flew past, full of bits and bobs.

A couple of phone calls to make this morning, a trip out for a few grocery bits, a sandwich and cuppa somewhere then the eye clinic for the usual scans, review and injection. Cottage pie from the freezer this evening.

Thinking of everyone with health and other challenges. Hope Thursday is kind to us all.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 12-Feb-26 07:10:51

Good morning from a grey S E Essex it’s 6° with rain this afternoon ☔️

My cleaning fairies 🧚🧚 are here this morning, this afternoon I might drive to M & S Foodhall to see what they have to offer for Valentines meal deal.

Thinking of our morning friends who are currently not posting 🙋‍♀️

Hop Marydoll’s DDiL is on the mend.

WhiteSwan63 Thu 12-Feb-26 07:10:30

Good morning everyone from a dark East Coast it’s going to get very cold from tomorrow.
Yesterday I walked in the rain and really enjoyed it though despite my good coat I got drenched.

My GS had a difficult morning at school though the afternoon he was great. At ours I couldn’t get the sound on his favourite programme which resulted in a meltdown. I try to stay calm and reassuring but inside I was shaky. He can’t help it. Today is his favourite cake day after school so that will help.
My sister ramped up her next threat to mum yesterday. She’s horrible. It just makes my mum stand her ground more.

This morning early I need to take DH to collect his van after the MOT and go for my hair done. It needs roots and highlights. From my hair I need to dash for gluten free plain flour for the cake there isn’t quite enough in the bag.

Hoping Marydoll’s DIL had a better day yesterday.
Thinking of those feeling poorly.💐
Enjoy a day with moments of joy 🌼
