House of Colour

Wondering if people change "season" as they get older?

I've sometimes wondered what I would have been pronounced if I'd been done officially. Had to pronounce myself autumn - but have obviously changed colouring as I got older (ie white hair now and my eyes used to be green - but even they changed colour).

Just brought up a nasty little reminder of my mother and I going off to a Health Farm together for a few days and we both decided to go to a talk by one of the consultants on this. Cue we were both hoping to be chosen as a volunteer by the consultant - and she chose a woman who looked smug/self-satisfied and smiling obliviously at the rest of us as she declared "Yes...I've had a consultation already and she said I was a Winter too". Cue for both my mother and myself feeling sick as a parrot that a woman had accepted that volunteer slot when she didn't need it - as she already knew! Not surprisingly - neither of us paid the woman for a consultation - my mother because she felt sick at the selfish volunteer and me (well I couldnt afford it anyway).

Hence I went off in anger at that woman and bought a book to do my own subsequently.

Oh Bluebelle I wish. Sometimes I like things that don’t like me and sadly buy them and occasionally wear them too. Yes 3pm now that I’m this old!

Surely you know yourself best, and by now we know what colours we can and can’t wear and with what, I can’t envisage paying someone to tell me I suit blue, but don’t look so good in green. I have a mirror.

I had my colours done by The House of Colour in 1992 and was surprised at the results. I’ve always worn brown or shades of but I was told I was cool winter. I still have the swatches I was given.,I must admit I don’t always stick with it but when I do I get numerous compliments.

I had my colours done decades ago by House Of Colour and it was the best money ever spent. No more wrong purchases, and everything goes to together.

I can’t find, but know there was a recent thread on this sort of thing. It seemed that quite a few GN’s (including me) had Colour me Beautiful and were designated one of the four seasons. I think I was ‘done’ in the mid ‘80’s, I’m a Winter and I still have the colour swatches and still stick to those and other recommendations.
