Celery is one for me and also those tiny little corn cobs you get in Chinese cuisine. The other day I had a jackfruit smoothie. Yuck, sounds nice, tastes vile.

I don’t care at all for raw oysters - I’m sure they’d be a lot nicer cooked. IMO there’s a very good reason why, in Dickens’ time, they were considered poor people’s food!

I eat a lot of fish ,but one fish that I can't stand to eat is Rock Salmon - available at the local chippy .
It's actually Dogfish and we dissected them at school.
They had nematode worms in their gills ,but maybe many other fish do .
It's the association.

Carrot cake. I had to spit it out the one and only time I tried it. It was like having a mouthful of compost. Why it is so popular baffles me.

Brassicas and beans---i wish I enjoyed eating those as they are vegetarian and nourishing.

I always say that I’m not fussy and will eat most things, but thinking about it now, these are some of the food items I usually prefer to avoid:

Any milk puddings with “skin” on ( bad memories of school blancmange)
Mashed potatoes especially if they have gravy poured over
Fish pie
Shellfish
Okra
Orzo
Game pie with the lead shot included!
Tofu

Sminty - I believe mussels are "filter feeders" ... but either way you obviously don't enjoy them!

@MOnica. Totally agree about artificial sweeteners. They taste disgusting and they are full of e numbers. I have just been away to a “dry” country and it was so nice to have juices and mocktails that were natural and sweetener free.

Any shellfish I also do not like pasta or rice both make me feel sick🙈 In fact there are quite a lot of things I don’t like and my worst nightmare is being invited to someone I hardly know for dinner as it’s likely I won’t be able to eat anything. Some restaurants I struggle to like anything on the menu.

Tripe - though I haven’t seen any for years and years. Sets my teeth on edge thinking about it and also those awful herring fish which don’t grow here, thank goodness.

Sweet potato

Oysters

Hard boiled eggs, I like mine with plenty of dip, but I will eat them hard boiled in salads.

Black pudding. DH eats it but the whole idea of it just puts me off.

Celery, olives, gherkins, anchovies, most types of sea food. But my most hated food is mushy/processed peas 🤢 which is a hangover from my childhood when I was forced to eat them, even having them brought out the following day stone cold.

I don't eat meat or fish because I am vegetarian. The thought of runny poached/boiled eggs gives me nausea.
Mushrooms, cashew nuts and grapefruit aggravate my IBS although I like them. I don't like tomato juice and tomato ketchup. Love all cheese, pulses, yogurt, vegetables and fruit though

Scribbles Wed 18-Feb-26 21:19:38

Bananas, cottage cheese, drinking chocolate, sherry, any kind of poultry.

BoggledMind Wed 18-Feb-26 20:24:54

Corned beef is very popular it seems but I loathe the stuff. We were given corned beef sandwiches as kids and they were disgusting. I can't stand cheese on toast but again, it's very popular. In fact, I don't like most types of cheese. Mozzarella, Cheshire and Philadelphia being the exceptions.

Happy to stay in the minority for the sake of my taste buds.

Fish pie. I feel sick even typing it in. No logical reason. I eat fish in other forms. I can only assume it is a long buried childhood memory. Long may it stay buried.

Kale is awful, nothing makes it tasty, have tried.
Fish with bones in it, by the time I have removed the bones I have lost all interest in eating it. Not fond of fish anyway.

Biscuitmuncher

Pasta, it's just boiled dough

Agree Biscuitmuncher it's the texture I dislike. Makes eating out difficult sometimes as most people like pasta.

pably15 Wed 18-Feb-26 19:24:17

don't like salmon, never tasted oysters and never want to, nor mushroom,,,the smell of tripe makes me gag, and rare cooked beef. soft egg yolk yuk, butter, margarine,

Smintie Wed 18-Feb-26 19:17:48

Tea - just no.
Any bottom feeding shellfish - tried Moule Mariniere once - so ill
Shellfish in general
Sweetcorn - food of the devil
Runner Beans by the time you get to July
Offal - shudders

Are those the things you pull out of a shell with a pin Kamiso?

CanadianGran Wed 18-Feb-26 18:57:32

I’m not very fussy, and will eat just about anything if served to me, but there are certainly things I chose not to eat.

Veg with no taste like eggplant, cauliflower and zucchini. If mixed into a sauce ou ragout, then fine.

Tofu; I’ve tried but don’t like the texture.

Blue cheese; I think my basic instinct is not to eat anything mouldy.

Witzend Wed 18-Feb-26 18:53:52

Oh, and fried eggs with slimy uncooked white on top 🤮 again.

Witzend Wed 18-Feb-26 18:52:12

Cream
Milk on its own, OK in coffee, (not in tea 🤮)or in a sauce
Goats’ cheese
Fennel
Meat fat
I’m not mad keen on sweet potatoes either.

Starting to really hate it.
