Funnily enough, I am much more appreciative to receive a small bunch of daffs, or tulips any day over a large bouquet that I have to faff with.
I said I would brain my husband if he ever wasted top dollar on one of those fancy bouquets.
To this day I have never received any flowers of any kind, not that I am complaining, he bought me Chanel for valentines.

I bought several bunches the other day and put them in jugs, I collect vintage jugs so always have some to hand. My DH was never one for buying me flowers but is a keeper in very many different ways, when I went to the local supermarket he tried valiantly to wash some dishes and tidy the kitchen, he is disabled due to a stroke so this was a gargantuan effort. He was sitting exhausted on the sofa when I returned saturated with washing up water but smiling. He generally can’t stand for long and needs a walker or quad stick but somehow he did it, though I had to rinse a few dishes again whilst he wasn’t looking and dry the puddle of washing up water on the floor. Of course he then suffered post stroke fatigue that means he has taken to his bed for a day.

They came in bundles of 3 bunches in M&S, so he evidently thought 4 of those would do!

What a lovely husband! Mine is kind and thoughtful but doesn’t often buy me flowers, probably because I always buy a bunch every fortnight. Enjoy x

I had a job to find enough vases! A old friend who visited several days ago had brought a lot, too, and they haven’t quite had it yet, so the usual vases weren’t available.

I was one of the lucky ones. My husband always bought me flowers but partly because he liked fresh flowers in the house. There was a flower stall beside the station when he got off so that made it easy for him. His favourite were freesias but sometimes it would be whatever the stall had left as he was late getting back from work. There was also a pub beside the station and sometimes he would stop for a drink. He was very put out when some other man asked what he had done to cause him to buy me flowers!!

Did you act want 12 bunches? Or was it a case of husband going shopping with no idea of numbers?? I asked for a bag of sugar once and got 4 😂

I especially like the middle one, the blue and white jug. I love blue and white china, everything from striped Cornish ware to pretty flowers. Aren't daffodils the happiest of flowers, you can't look at them and not smile? Well I can't

Lovely topic, but just as an observation, our local large Morrisons have recently dispensed with the florists. So the flowers are just bought in and dumped in the receptacles all mixed up. I was looking at them yesterday and some of the dates , on the bunches and bouquets were over 2 weeks past the sell by date. No mark downs, nothing. It is so very sad that there is no one bothering with them, don't know how Morrisons feels this is good customer service. I have seen the lady who was the florist now stacking the shelves etc. Really cannot see what has been achieved doing this. Anybody else encountered this in their supermarkets?

I bought three bunches in Tesco yesterday - 10p each. They’re opening up perfectly. And it’s stopped raining !

Yes, I think the one on the L is Aynsley Tudor. On the R, not sure, but I don’t think Portmeiron. I had admired it in a catalogue and a sister bought it for me for Christmas!

The blue and white jug was Unknown Charity Shop - it came with a matching bowl.
