World falling apart around you? Ex-husband arrested? Here's the answer

I've started a new thread because the existing AMW thread is dealing with the loftier side of things.

"I haven't got any money" seems to be a phrase that means different things to different folk.

It's reported that allegedly, Sarah Ferguson is experiencing deep personal trauma. Apparently homeless and with no known source of regular income she has ...

"...spent a few days with friends in the French Alps and is now thought to be in the United Arab Emirates".

Life's a bitch isn't it?

Oops, the wealthy and privileged have different ideas about poverty.

….and although I know there is great empathy on GN for the two daughters they are women in their thirties both Fergie
(who I used to like I thought she was a fun edition to a rather somber household ) have been reaping many benefits if not fully joining in, although I think Fergie has had a lot more involvement than we know of at the moment It may all come out, it may not …..isn’t one of the daughters over in the Middle East too.?

Sadly I agree, I thought “Fergie” was a breath of fresh air when she married “Randy Andrew” and I did/do feel a bit sorry for B&E, I’ve not quite made my mind up yet!

As for the Emirate countries, including Dubai, I wouldn’t want to spend five minutes there, they are simply not my “cuppa tea”

I am no fan at all of AMW but he did serve his country in the Falklands and in helicopters which are a difficult option. I dislike intensely this feeding frenzy by the media and their relish for that dreadful photo . He’s not been charged and the photographer boasting . How much would this photographer be paid?

crazyH Fri 20-Feb-26 14:24:21

Stansgran - that photographer is probably set up for life 💰 💰 💰

JenniferEccles Fri 20-Feb-26 14:27:31

There has been talk about Fergie writing a ‘tell all ‘ book, if the price is right of course!

I did laugh at her naivety when I read how at one point she tried to squeeze one million quid out of Cunard, by appearing on four cruises over the course of a year.
Presumably acting as a guest speaker, she imagined they would bite her hand off !

She was told ‘no thanks’.

So what? He’s done nothing wrong unlike allegedly the person he photographed ( who until recently thought he was set up for life)

I wasn’t criticising him - good for him !!

The post you quoted was criticising him so I misunderstood. Sorry.

Apparently E is on a family skiing holiday in an upmarket Swiss ski resort - of course she is.

Chestnut Fri 20-Feb-26 15:37:00

Don't forget that Beatrice went on 17 holidays in 2015 whilst she had a job! I'm not even sure how you could manage that many.

www.thenews.com.pk/amp/1392931-princess-beatrice-17-holidays-per-year-questioned-as-andrew-is-arrested

So B&E are more involved than we thought. They must have wondered where the money came from. Well now it looks as though we will all find out how Fergie and the girls managed to lead such a lavish lifestyle.

Tuliptree Fri 20-Feb-26 15:44:23

It’s the complete tin ear that gives it all away isn’t it?

Sarnia Fri 20-Feb-26 15:53:02

Good try ferry23 on attempting a tongue in cheek, light-hearted thread.
Unfortunately, it seems to be going the same way as the other thread about AMW.

Calendargirl Fri 20-Feb-26 15:56:51

I found myself wondering if Andrew had been able to open his birthday cards, (assuming he got some) before his arrest.

I had visions of the police storming his bedroom before he got up.

HelterSkelter1 Fri 20-Feb-26 16:52:03

I wonder if they ordered pizza in for him at the police station. Good birthday treat.

I bet he came out in a sweat when they offered him a Pizza Express takeout

HelterSkelter1 Fri 20-Feb-26 17:33:20

What has always amazed me is that I haven't read of anyone being able to confirm he was at Pizza Express in Wokingham on the night he was also apparently seen in a nightclub.
I think that was a daughter's birthday. No member of staff nor public. He was so adamant that he would not have forgotten being in Pizza Express! So down market I suppose for him.
One of the statements in that notorious interview which made people dislike and distrust him more.

HelterSkelter1 Fri 20-Feb-26 17:35:32

My error Woking not Wokingham.

Tuliptree Fri 20-Feb-26 17:39:18

You know people can criticise you, people can complain about you, but when they are openly laughing at you, the game is well and truly up.

Iam64 Fri 20-Feb-26 17:44:04

I’m so shallow/in need of a bit of humour in all this that I lol’d at ‘life’s a bitch’ ferry23

Worse, i enjoyed the facebook memes of AMW’s shocked face as he realised the two police women in uniform weren’t his birthday strippergram

As for Sarah Ferguson, she’ll find a way to live in a similarly extravagant way, as she always has. It seems the divorce of convenience has become a trial separation.

Chestnut Fri 20-Feb-26 17:47:26

But surely he would have been at the Pizza Express early evening for the birthday, which left plenty of time to go sleazing around later on. The two things would not have happened at the same time. I could never understand how the Pizza story would have held up as an alibi.
(Sorry ferry23) 😟

They probably did, but gave him the opportunity to dress before he left the house.

ferry23 Fri 20-Feb-26 18:00:46

I suppose our equivalent of remembering being at Pizza Express is being at a garden party at Buckingham Palace.

Or in my case, rocking up to Waitrose intead of Aldi.

Oops, the wealthy and privileged have different ideas about poverty.

Well, of course they do. It has always been said that impoverishment is harder to bear than poverty.

SF had a more than adeuate settlement from the RF when she divorced that would have kept her in comfort for life. She must have earned many £10s of millions on her own account. if she is broke now, well too bad. Stupidity is its own reward.

merlotgran Fri 20-Feb-26 18:12:46

All those poor teddies must have been traumatised.

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 20-Feb-26 18:14:14

Two questions:

Apparently Andy’s body guards went to the police station with him. What did they do all day?

Would you put money on him jetting off at the weekend to a far-flung desert kingdom?
