Good morning everyone from Inverness where it feels much milder at about 7° but is cloudy and wet
Oh Baubles how incredible frustrating that another date has been postponed, hope it’s sorted soon
I’ve a volunteering session this morning and then I’m off to the gym after that. I need to go into town and return a top to M&S so I’ll do that later and then get the bus home
Aww you’ll miss that car and the memories Melanie
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

EkwaNimitee Tue 24-Feb-26 07:51:28

Good morning Mick and everyone from cloudy Carlisle.

Yesterday was busy with housework and the remaining laundry, I'm all sorted after my holiday now.
Today I'm off into town, I need an eye test I think. I'm finding it increasingly difficult to read in the evening now unless it's my Kindle where I can blow up the text. I suspect it's due to the wretched steroids. Regarding the latter, I fired off an e-consult to the surgery and got a prompt reply....offering a face to face appointment with an actual doctor! I'm wanting those steroids reduced after being left unchecked on them for over a year so I'm hoping this GP will take action.
I'll also have a cruise round the stores and try to avoid the temptations of new clothing stocks.
Later, boring admin and a new book.
More pics from Costa Rica....

Have the best day possible everyone.

Thinking of you, FGT

Gingster Tue 24-Feb-26 07:52:29

Good morning and it feels milder. I expect we’ll have rain sometime today.,

Dd seemed better when I visited yesterday, although she hadn’t seen a doctor since last Thursday., Just waiting to be moved to another ward. She sees other patients come and go but she remains. At least she hasn’t been sick and is eating now. 🙏

The bus journey was excellent. Only waited a few minutes each way and got to the hospital, there and back without problems. No parking worries and free pass. 🚌.

Today I have a pedicure this morning and I will go to Bridge this afternoon.
A friend of Dd will pick up DGD and drop her off with her grandad (Gaga). They can look after each other for an hour until I get home. She has her phone for any emergencies.

A day off from stresses and strains will be most welcome.

Take care all and I hope everyone is feeling a little brighter today.

Love to Fgt. Always in our thoughts.

🌱

Grammaretto you are correct about dgs2. He was overtired and apparently fell asleep in the car. A cuddle with mum and all was well. This morning he's a happy boy

Good morning from a brightish Leicestershire.

Still not heard from the garage re the replacement car battery. I am hoping the car will start as hopefully I am meeting with other Grans this afternoon. I am excited!

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Good morning from a bright Suffolk to which I returned yesterday after a really lovely time in London with my 4 old school friends. DH has just handed me a mug of tea which I’ll enjoy as I read your posts.

Like everyone I was so sad to hear about Himself and the devastation that brave FGT and her little family must be experiencing.

We went to the exhibition at the Tate to see the Turner and Constable exhibition which is excellent. It is so well arranged as it shows how their styles of painting and lives were intertwined. We all thought that there were just too many paintings but that is probably just our age as it took an hour and a half to get round.

Hope,in spite of the sadness on there, all have their best day possible. After a leisurely dog walk,I hope to get out into the garden to tidy up a bit more.

kittylester Tue 24-Feb-26 08:11:24

Good morning all from a brightish North Leicestershire.

Today, it is bed changing day and I also need to nip to the shop. This afternoon I am meeting 3 local gners at a nearby garden centre. Really looking forward to seeing everyone.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Beautiful pictures EkwaNimitee thank you - I think I must have missed that you were in Cost Rica, what an amazing holiday!
Pleased you had a lovely restorative break too Pantglas and your dad managed ok 😀

Marydoll Tue 24-Feb-26 08:21:24

Good morning all from Glasgow, where it is 10C and raining again.

Mick, I think you may have misunderstood about your RSV injection, it is a vaccine, which helps protect you from catching the virus. It is not medication to help your breathing.

DD is finally home. After a number of hiccups, a very stressful DS and a tearful Dollie, she was discharged last night.
I'm afraid I took the brunt of DS's frustration and am thoroughly fed up with life, and DH

However, I posted a thank you and update on the parish Whats App chat and I could not believe the number of responses,
I also discovered that a group of forty people in another parish were praying for her. There are so many good people in the world. ♥️

Baubles, how absolutely frustrating for you. Have you asked to go on the cancelation list.
A friend of mine had his knee op privately at Ross Hall yesterday, he was so tired of waiting,

Yesterday morning, I opened up the parish hall, to find two leaks in the central system. saved washing the toilet floor!
Of course the P.P was away from the parish and the curate was out. All I could do was switch off the heating and mop up. It was 10pm last night, before I heard from the P,P,
Please add handyman to my CV.😉
A number of fundraisers came to help, so every corner of the hall was spotless, ready for us moving in for Mass.

Today, despite being exhausted and in severe pain, I may take myself out. I just need time away from everyone. I have decided to wait until DS contacts me. Evertime, I contact him, I get my head bitten off, even if it urgent!
He is under tremendous pressure at work and is determined to try and do everything himself, regarding DIL. I am so worried about his wellbeing.

Gingster, I hope there is some improvement for your daughter and look after yourself too.

I wish you all a pleasant day. Glad to see you posting, Pants.

Morning from a dry, dull S Hants.
Glad you’ve had some sun Pantglas and all was well with your Dad.
How annoying baubles
My daughter says I Swear is the best film she’s ever seen Grammaretto it’s noted.
Our gardening lady came yesterday and very efficiently pruned, it looks so much better.
Today we have two friends visiting, later MrJ will go to the farm shop for potatoes and some veg, I need him to scrounge an egg tray for potato chitting.

Good morning all from a mild dull Black country.
Yesterday's sun didn't last long but the washing dried and I was able to iron it.
Today I think we are eating out we have a voucher so will use it while we can.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans.

Morning all from West Lothian. It felt mild when I let the cat out this morning and I don’t think it was raining.

Busy day yesterday, but not with anything particularly’fun’ - early swim and then work (reviewing risk assessments- definitely not fun!! 😂). Today will be better. I’ve got my annual book club planned at a nice pub. I haven’t quite finished the current book but if it’s anything like a normal meeting, we’ll spend about ten minutes talking about the book and the rest of the time just talking. I’m going to try to skip breakfast so that I can eat what I want at lunchtime and not have to worry.
I love hearing about everyone’s lives, the bad and the good.

Melanie I’m very impressed that you kept your car going so long! You’ll be sad to lose it.

Have as day as possible everyone. Sending positive thoughts to everyone going through tough times x

NannyJan53 Tue 24-Feb-26 08:24:19

Good morning from a dull and damp Black Country.

My procedure went well yesterday, I was in and out in less than 30 minutes.

Then home and onto Line Dancing with my friend.

Today said friend and I are off to the Cinema to the 'Silver Surfers'. £2 a coffee and biscuit. The film today is The Choral. A month ago it was I Swear which I was pleased to see won a Bafta. It was a very good film. Then we shall have a late lunch afterwards.

Impressed that your car lasted 28 years Melanie, it is obviously sad to see it go. My car is 14 years old, but only 55K on the clock so hoping it will last longer yet. Only did 2K in it last year.

Thought it odd yesterday, I looked on the Meet Ups section for Birmingham yesterday and someone had reported the thread, then noticed the same name had reported quite a few! Very strange?

Wishing you all the best day possible. Urms as I always think of her, is in my thoughts.

WhiteSwan63 Tue 24-Feb-26 08:53:41

Good morning from the east coast. Looking at my weather app it’s going to be in double figures temp wise for over a week so I’m pleased about that.

DGS had a good day at school and the routine at ours went well.
The GDs were delightful as ever last night. GD2 who is 3 was saying about her wedding😂 she said she wants to marry Henry Danger from Nickelodeon who she loves but she doesn’t want to kiss him. Have other Grans seen this with their GC. My GDs are both obsessed. It was a funny conversation while they were in the bath.

Today I am picking up Mum to go and visit her brother in his care home. He now has a girlfriend in there and they both wanted a matching key ring with their photos inside so I’ll take those with me. It’s very sweet.

DH is doing a Sea Bass risotto for tea. He said ‘I need to find a tastier recipe to match up to the best one you ever had in Madeira’
He’s great.
We were just discussing the need to lop the tops off two eucalyptus in the garden before they get too high and lose their lovely colour. That will be a job the next free time we have.

Wishing everyone a day with moments of joy🌼
Thoughts to friends dealing with family stress and loss.💐

Good Morning, from west mids. NannyJan53 there were a series of odd posts on all the meet up threads that were reported and removed. A free day for me today but plenty to occupy myself

Kate54 Tue 24-Feb-26 09:01:25

That was probably me - up in the early hours and notice an ‘infiltration’ on several of the meet-up threads.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 24-Feb-26 09:01:34

WhiteSwan73 Henry Danger has a lot to answer for in this house 😹😹😹

hollysteers Tue 24-Feb-26 09:07:44

Good morning from Cloudy Chambers northwest coast.
After a couple of days of not very much, I’m going to the music club this afternoon, so will prepare my songs.
Flying DD is in Dohar and sends photos from around the pool.
I’m looking forward to my next cling on trip, wherever it may be.
Lovely photos today.

Thoughts to FGT and all🌺

hollysteers Tue 24-Feb-26 09:09:20

Doha not Dohar.

BlueSapphire Tue 24-Feb-26 09:16:53

Good morning everyone from a damp and grey Northampton. I have slept in again this morning, which is lovely if I have a free morning.

Yoga was fine yesterday and my knee coped well with everything and was not at all painful. I did very little when I got back apart from some washing up, cleaning the kitchen and preparation for my holidays. I put a new book onto my Kindle, although I have plenty of unread ones on it! I was able to order my medication this morning with a note to say why I am requesting it early.

The paperwork and information for my future cataract surgery arrived yesterday; plenty to read and take in; my first appointment is 4 weeks today.

Won't be joining my walking group this afternoon as I have a hairdressers appointment, hoping that she works her usual miracle. On the way back I shall call in at the paper shop, pay my bill and cancel my paper while I am away.

Shall make a batch of macaroni cheese for dinner.tonight, one to eat today and probably about three leftover portions for the freezer.

Thinking especially of FGT2 as she faces her new life.

GrannySomerset Tue 24-Feb-26 09:21:24

Yesterday turned out to be quite busy - window installer to replace a damaged handle, window cleaner, DS and DGD2 rang up and asked to come for lunch (good thing I had soup and rolls) and then a long telephone chat with oldest school friend. The plan to clean the silver was abandoned with enthusiasm.

Wonderful Cleaner is here so bed changing needs to happen but nothing else demanding my attention (apart from the silver cleaning, which sounds as though we have masses; we don’t, just teapots, candle sticks and some little bits, all of which look better for the occasional polish). Need to finish my Tesco order so that we have plenty to eat at the weekend when DD and DSiL will be here.

Georgesgran Tue 24-Feb-26 09:23:05

Good Morning from Durham. After heavy rain overnight, it’s dry, but grey here. No laundry - machine broken!
Yesterday’s dental appointment was expensive, but ok, I’m back in 3 months, but at least I can go out now!! A quick coffee with a friend, then straight down to check on my empty rental house. I’ve a chiropody appointment this afternoon, then straight into DD2’s to babysit DGS2. She’s going away for work and SinL is going to the home match after he’s dropped her off at the airport. Half term here, but not there, so traffic is unpredictable.
As we had dogs we needed 3 vehicles and on my own, I’m still doing 8-10k miles a year, but I enjoy driving.
Eggshells again MD? How many of us have that Tshirt?
Thinking of FGT as her loss sinks in.

Best wishes to all. X

Grammaretto Tue 24-Feb-26 09:24:00

I'm so glad to hear your DiL is home at last Marydoll and over the worst.

Baubles that's so frustrating about the postponed op.
I'm on call as transport for my friend's cataract surgery which will be at the Golden Jubilee!
You only have to look at a map to see there are dozens of nearer hospitals and clinics.

Auchendinmy to Clydebank is mad.

Putting boiling water in a cold pot is always risky, which is why we are told to warm the teapot first Karmalady. I'm saying this as a potter who learned about this at college but also from bitter experience.

GrannyGravy I bet you know the words to Henry Danger the musical. According to 7year old GD. K-pop demons is very ‘last year’

I do hope so, I go to bed with Golden going round in my head 😹

The Imp (6yr old boy) very much into drama and dance knows all the songs and dances from K-Pop Demon Hunters, and is looking forward to the second films release 🤦‍♀️
