Good morning all and it’s dark and damp here in Essex.

DGD has a school trip to Duxford today and it will be an indoor visit which is a shame. She’s very excited .

I’ll take her home after school, or maybe tomorrow morning.
I’ll see what she says.

Our friends are picking us up today for our Friday gathering which is so kind of them . I always say ‘we can get a cab’ but they are persistent. It isn’t on the way and they have to detour.

Condolences Pants
Glad the ops went well Baubles and NannyJ.
GrandMattie how can you say your life is ‘pedestrian’. ? You’re such a busy bee , 🐝, always making, baking, and helping others where needs be, and meeting people.

Take care all and keep dry.🌱

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

Book group was fun yesterday. Next month’s theme is books set in Japan. Our daughter lived in Japan for a year and I’m sure there are books in the house set in Japan.

I have to get up soon. OH and I are off to an Arts Society lecture. The parking at the venue is difficult so we will go early and find somewhere for breakfast.

Have a good day.

Good morning Mick and everyone from Carlisle where we have yet another grey day.
Booked another holiday in the sun....

Yesterday's eye appointment went ok, my difficulties with reading small print are simply due to getting even more longsighted. I spent ages choosing new frames and ended up with a similar style as usual. The large resulting bill was sweetened by paying in a cheque from the train company...I can't remember when I last paid full whack for a rail trip!
Not usually the train company's fault though.

Today, some bathroom cleaning and hopefully some gardening and/or a walk.

My condolences for the loss of your aunt Pantglas

Good morning from Wiltshire. It was grey, windy and wet yesterday but not as disappointing as the previous day when we were promised a lovely sunny day. Well, we had an hour of hazy sun but by 1pm it had clouded over. We went for a walk still wearing our winter coats. My hip ached a great deal afterwards. Meanwhile 1.5 hours to the east DD1 was sitting in her warm and very sunny garden. 🫤

We went to the new Lidl nearby and bought a huge artists kit for DGD3 to keep for her birthday which we will keep till August.

I’m sorry to hear about your cousin’s mum Pantglas. Thank you for the photos from Costa Rica Eqwa what an adventure! I hope your knee is ok now after your playground encounter with DGS2’s foot. I’m so sorry your DinL has had another setback MD. What awful stress you are all under.

Wishing you all the best day you can.

Good morning from a wet and breezy Torbay where it has rained for most of the night.

Condolences to you, Pantglas2; what a good thing you had recently visited your aunt. 💐

Safe travels to you, brook2704; my first teaching post was in Luton, enabling me to be provided with a council flat in a tower block overlooking the M1! Both my school and the flats have since been demolished!

My cleaner is due today so I hope the rain stops so I can go into town. “This place ain’t big enough for the two of us!”

Good luck with bringing the patient home, baubles.

Have a good day, if you can!

Good morning from s somerset with thankfully, sun today

Pantglas I am so sorry, the joy of life has left you for a while, I sense it. Take good care of yourself, do some nice things so you don`t crumble and accept a hug from me, for the lovely person that you are. Sit tight, it will get better

I came to a decision wrt my boiler, I am not throwing more money at repairs and I am going to get a like for like replacement with the 8 year guarantee. That time span is relatively long at my age and I will be getting a quote today. I won`t have a definitely accessible road for another month so will sadly have to arrange replacement for april. No heat, no hot water but I am old school and will manage

I had an urge to ride my bike yesterday but being an oldie, I need a few more degrees so I did a little bit of sorting in my garage instead after a walk. I keep a good bit of my food storage in there and am seeing space at last. The road works have been helpful to me, my storage is going down

Today, an appointment with my heat engineer, a walk and a look at finances with a shuffle here and there

Good morning from Malta where it is to be sunny and 20°C.

What a lot of early risers this morning, and you are an hour earlier than lazy me who has just woken up.

Condolences on the loss of your aunt, Pantglas, May she rest in peace.

grandMatttie you do so much with your life, even when you aren’t out being useful and helping others you are baking and making lovely quilts., and studying another language.

Glad to hear Mr Baubles had his surgery and may well be home later.

Safe travels brook and happy birthday to your DGS.🥳

I had a nice morning catching up with my friend over coffee. We walked around the village afterwards as it was such lovely weather it seemed wrong to be indoors.

Another sunny day today. I’ve got my hair at some point but forgot to write down at what time so will have to find out,

No particular plans. I do feel I waste my life but I’m happiest when at home just pottering about with no pressure to be doing anything I don’t want to do.

Hopefully the boys might visit, that would make my day.

Hoping you have a good day.☀️

Good morning from Kent where it is ten degrees. Looks like it's going to rain later.

There was a gap in the rain yesterday so I pulled out loads of ground-covering chickweed from the flower border. The work has helped to relieve the stiffness in my back.

Today I'm off to do a bit of volunteering at the heritage railway. There's always much to be done keeping the area neat and tidy.

grandMattie I'm like you in that I eat meat and also love my vegetables. Yesterday I had a mix of broccoli, swede, parsnip, leek, cauliflower and potatoes. I batch cook it so that there's enough for the following day and in case anyone shows up unexpectedly wanting something to eat.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

Good morning from a dry but damp Black Country, as it rained from yesterday afternoon.

Thank you for the the good wishes regarding MrJ's Op. I had the call to bring him home around 1.30pm as it was only Day Surgery. Has a big dressing on his scalp, and he is to keep upright for 2 days, and do absolutely nothing for a week! They took skin off his arm to put on his scalp, so a dressing there too.

So please your DH's Op went well too Baubles. Here's hoping he is discharged soon.

Was hoping to go on a u3a walk this morning, but think I had better stick around the house for today.

Sincere condolences Pantglas flowers

Wishing you all the best day possible. Thinking of FGT and anyone with worries or health struggles at the moment.

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s still dark and looks still and quiet outside. Yesterday was sunny but again with a very strong cold wind
Sad news Pantglas, so very sorry for your loss
I’m awake early as we’re off to DD1s in Cambridge today, we’re celebrating youngest DGSs 9th birthday this weekend. We’re on a flight to Luton and then onward travel by bus and train.
Pleased all went well Baubles hope your Dh gets home this afternoon and recovers well. Hoping all went well for MrJ too
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning from Lancashire. Quiet and calm at the moment, but more rain is on the way. One of my gerbils is on the loose. It's here somewhere, I just have to find it. At least, it will be hungry so I should be able to tempt it with some food.

baubles Fri 27-Feb-26 05:56:37

NannyJan I hope your DH’s op went well.

baubles Fri 27-Feb-26 05:52:40

Good morning from South Lanarkshire. Not sure what the weather is doing yet.

My condolences Pantglas.

Thanks for all the good wishes for DH yesterday. His knee replacement surgery went well and he was in good spirits last night although he hadn’t yet been out of bed. I’m hoping that he will be discharged later today if the physio is happy with his mobility.

Yesterday I cleaned to keep me busy so today I think I will try to relax and do some crochet while listening to my audiobook.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

grandMattie Fri 27-Feb-26 05:46:25

Good morning from a now dry Bristol; it has rained all afternoon and night.
My poor pant, I’m so sad for you; as you say, so many bereavements at the moment.
A photo of my pots outside my front door.
Yesterday was uneventful as usual. My life is so pedestrian. Dinner at DD’s was odd as per normal. They are vegetarian, but as a carnivore, I eat far, far more of a variety of vegetables per meal.
Today, Spanish, then a haircut here with one of my neighbours joining and finally, I’m going to a Lent group in church. A two hour affair. I wonder what it’ll be like.
Hugs to the mountaineers,💐 I don’t want to name anyone other than fgt for fear of missing someone.

Good morning from a dry and not too chilly NE.
Yesterday's shopping trip was successful, everything I wanted to last me until next week plus picked up a couple of tops for the summer.
Nothing happening today so will catch up with some TV and reading.
Sorry for your loss Pantglas 💐

Pantglas2 Fri 27-Feb-26 05:29:16

Morning all from a dry and dark north Wales - nothing good about it as my cousin rang yesterday to say his mum died so I join the bereaved group today - so many this week 💔

I’d popped to the hospital on Wednesday and she looked so frail and told me she was tired of struggling and to give her love to my Dad, her little brother …

💐 and hugs to everyone for the weekend and hope for some good news from all who have some holidays, happenings and happiness - bring it on🤗

Good Morning Everyone,
A dark wet morning here in Brackley this morning.
The usual routine after breakfast and a bit of TV ,catch the bus to bus to Bicester and do a shop and chat to those I know.
Little bit disappointed with Royal Mail as to letters they may as well be on strike with what they have not done .
Health OK,
Take Care,
Mick
