Mad neighbours

The couple opposite me, mid-80s, are having their front garden made into a small parking area. Everyone else parks on the street or at a space reserved for residents about 20’ away.
He said it’s so nobody can park in front of his house. They only go out once a week so their car is almost always in front of their house.
This must be costing at least £5000 and I think it’s crazy.
Tell me about your odd or troublesome neighbours.

Golly, Hellidon, that is bonkers.
We did have a neighbour, ( fortunately now moved) who felt the same, and when my next door neighbour had visitors who parked opposite his drive, he would watch for them to go out , then move his car from his drive across the road.
He missed a trick not buying another car, didn't he?

It is their garden and decision .

It doesn't make them mad .

My only reservation with paved over front gardens is that it increases the risk of flooding and I like to look at greenery .

The couple who live opposite asked me if I'm moving because they dread looking at a bare car parking space opposite. They aren't happy with my neighbour who has three cars and a huge van parked in her garden and in the street .
She bombarded the council with requests to cut a big tree planted on the pavement down. Now it's been replaced !
It does look very ugly .

I have a neighbour who suffers from Clinical Depression/ Bipolar. I try to be kind to her, give her lifts to Doctor, Dentist, shopping etc.
I don’t think she likes visitors - the other day, I knocked on her door - I knew she was there - as soon as she saw me walking g down the drive, she ran and hid in the kitchen - so I left,
Very difficult to remain friends with someone with a difficult condition.
When I do talk to her, she says she is lonely. On the other hand, when I try to pop in for a hat, she hides. 😂

Well stop trying to steal her hats 😁

Yes I know you did, but just couldn’t resist, thankfully you have a SOH.
Many don’t. 😁

My late Dad had is front garden removed so he could park obvious applied for planning permission, although he did keep a rose bush to one side and a also had a double gate for entry /exit car wise plus a lowered curb , the couple who moved in when the house was sold have 2 cars ,ts a street from the late 40`s so very narrow as originally cars were few and far between .
