Mattie I once had a Pyrex casserole dish shatter in the oven. I was braising a whole chicken in it and there was a loud bang. The bits of the dish were in the bottom of the oven swimming in sauce and vegetables and the chicken was sitting on the oven shelf above it!

Good Morning everyone from another damp, overcast day here on the south coast. 6 degrees on the garden thermometer.

DH is about to set off to meet his cycling chums for a cake and coffee ride up the South Downs. He will be back for lunch.
I have my usual to do list on hand but procrastination might well take top billing!

Morning from a dull dry S Hants, yesterday a friend called in for a chat, Tesco delivered then MrJ called into our local for a catch up.
Today his team is on the TV later, ⚽️. Gammon in cider for dinner.

Good morning all from a really wet North Leicestershire. It rained all night.

A quick trip to our large retail park and then a quiet day beckons. We have had worrying news of one DH's oldest friends. They were at university together and shared a house for all 4 years. This aging lark is a pain.

Good morning everyone from a wet east coast.
I have put on the porridge and waiting for DH to get up. He is taking DGD1 to her jujitsu class this morning and I am going with DD to GD2s swimming lesson. DD said you should ‘come mum she really is so cute’.

Yesterday the trip to the vets resulted in mum’s little dog having fluid removed from the growth and tested. The vet is sure it’s a benign tumour but it has to be removed. It’s a fleshy lump about the size of a small plum on her paw. I’m taking her in for mum next Friday for the operation. She’s a 15 year old dog but it needs to come off. I’m concerned about her going under anaesthetic at her age.

This afternoon our best friends and DHs sister and partner are coming over for a meal. We are doing a pasta bolognese and salad. We are doing it early to accommodate our very poorly friend. He is amazing to make the journey through to us as he can barely walk now. It will be another emotional afternoon. DSILs parter can be exhausting as he speaks so fast and loud and can monopolise conversation so our best friends may not stay too long. He is a very nice man though so we make allowances.

Good morning from a dull looking Suffolk where rain is forecast for much of the day. I had a frustrating time yesterday trying to add comments to the papers I was reading on my laptop.

I don’t like or understand technology and am fine if everything works. It didn’t as the cursor kept moving about randomly on its own and the space bar didn’t always work. DH,who has used computers for over 20 years couldn’t work it out and,as with other devices,said just to turn it off and leave it for some time.

I did and it behaved perfectly when I switched it back on! Hoping it is still ok today as I have to continue today. Life was so much easier when I got a huge wad of papers through the post but those days won’t return.

Reading your posts about sunshine, makes me think, I must live on another planet!
In saying that, the washing was out on the line yesterday, what a difference in drying time.

Yesterday was very busy, between food shopping, returning an item to Sainsbury's and getting both DIL's and my own medication,
Fortunately, I was parked outside the pharmacy, for it took three trips to my car, the trays of Ensure were so heavy. It was sheer luck, I got parked, for the Main street was gridlocked.

I stayed for a while, chatting to DIL, I thought she looked a bit better, then became really tearful. My heart was breaking for her.
DH joined us and we had a chat about DH. He is becoming quire difficult and DS is now beginning to notice the change in him. 😪
He spends most of his time either watching blogs about American politics or playing games on his new PC. I cannot get him to go out, My children have been hiding their head in the sand. 😔

Dollie was in a rush to go out on her bike with her friend, therefore I only got a quick cuddle.
However, about an hour later, I received a message from her, telling me that she had been playing with her friends, but wanted to tell me, that she loved me. 😍

Today, I have my usual routine, bulletin, website, check up on DIL, then open up the church for the Vigil Mass, Anothr busy day. I long for a day with no responsibilities, but I would probably be bored.😉

Good morning from cloudy but dry West Sussex. The forecast promises some sunshine later. If the sky clears I will look for the line up of planets after sunset.

I did very little yesterday as I had a bit of a stomach upset and was very tired. I lay in bed all afternoon listening to my audiobook, Kate Morton’s Homecoming, which is very absorbing.

DH just saw a starling go in under the roof tiles opposite and I saw one at the corner of my neighbour’s earlier in the week. I will keep an eye in the hope of seeing the fledglings emerge later in the spring.

Marzipan, we have a giant echium at our allotment. It should flower this year. I wrapped it in fleece last winter as some previous plants have been killed by frost - it’s not such a balmy climate here on the Sussex coast as in Cornwall!

Good morning everyone from a very grey and wet Northampton,.just hoping it clears up by this afternoon when I am off out to a rugby match.

My mood didn't really lift at all yesterday as it was the anniversary of my lovely DH's death. Thank you to all on here who sent me lovely messages. I also had kind words from my DBrother and DSis, and from many people on Fb and other platforms. My DBrother and his wife also sent me lovely flowers.

Not a word from my DS and DD......

The jacket that I ordered this week turned out to be very disappointing; the style did not suit me at all and it was too small, so I had to package it back up and return it via the post office, showing the code on my phone that the company had sent me.

I then headed off to the shops, got the few things I needed and then to Costa for a capuccino. While I was enjoying that the heavens opened, giving me an excuse to prolong my stay! I waited till it had eased off and then got the bus home.

Good morning from Durham. It’s dry, but grey and it’s a shame it’s not going to be as Springlike as yesterday.

DD1 is 47 today - yikes!!! She has plans and is spending the day with her DH and her son, DGS1. Meanwhile DD2 has her half birthday and I’m meeting her and DGS2 at a local garden centre this afternoon, while her DH will be at football.
Drama last night when he picked up DGS2 from school and couldn’t get back into his car - luckily I was able to find his spare key and take it to him.
Battle lines drawn again MD with the outlaws - I’d hoped for a truce!

Good morning from misty moisty N Bucks.
We took a look at the rain about 6.30, Rosie and me, and beat a retreat back to bed. TIB and a peruse of the (depressing) papers.
I’m very in awe of £70 glasses Madeleine - mine regularly come in with an extra 0 at the end, and it’s not because of the fancy frames (because they’re not) but the cost of the lenses- Varifocals never come in at under £500.
I console myself with the thought of the cost per wear as long as my prescription doesn’t change significantly they can last me 2 years so that’s only £1 per day. I had plans to be away today, possibly London, but seeing the weather might not bother, it’s no fun in wall to wall rain.
Tried a new hairdresser yesterday, a lovely salon in the market square of the little town near me, cups of coffee, immaculate surroundings and actually only £5 more than I used to pay at the rather dingy place I used to go to. I felt my regular “girl” had gone rather stale but didn’t know how to extricate myself(!) but she’s been off for two months for surgery so this was the perfect opportunity! Disloyal? Maybe but it’s my hair, my money and I have to live with the consequences!
Special thoughts to those with sad anniversaries yesterday or today (Bluesapphire and FGT2) and any I may not know about. I always find it a relief when these days are past- I still shed a tear every year on 6 October, our first baby ‘s birthday albeit 53 years ago as he died three weeks later, but still remembering in absolute detail my joy in being a Mum and Paw’s pride in his baby son 😢

Good morning everyone from cloudy Lancashire.

It’s a little colder here this morning. MrB and I have been for an enjoyable walk around the Dock. A couple of the resident Mallards came to say hello, we must be disappointing as we never feed them! It was dry when we set off but has now started raining lightly. The birdsong was really noticeable along the woodland section of our walk and I realised how much I had been missing it in the cold weather. We seem to have some blue tits showing interest in the nest boxes near the house. If it’s dry after lunch we’re planning a walk around the Marina.

Lovely news Baubles hope his recovery is swift.

I’ve been out trying to pull out yards of pond weed , it is choking the water lily
Came in to wash my hands in hot water ! The water is very cold
The weed only turned up last year , I think we need new oxygenation plants , I have a solar fountain but it’s getting choked too
Hoping for as good a day as possible for all

Greyduster, we are driving. DH is not keen at all to go on a Saturday but I really don’t want to go in an evening when I’ll be tired. I’m may treat him to a piece of dime bar cake and a coffee as compensation.

Litterpicker, I agree it is impossible to come out with one thing. There’s always that ‘I could just do with that’ item. I’ll make sure I take my credit card.
