Good morning from a dry and breezy northwest coast.
Another quiet day yesterday, my neck painful again.
FaceTime with flying DD in the south, her flight to Dubai cancelled. She’s arranging a holiday for us both in Cornwall in the summer and is an excellent PA!

I’m off to a lunchtime recital today and might pick up my cat’s favourite food. I think she’d rather starve than eat the stuff I’ve proffered her. On top of that she’s following me around miaowing, which is irritating…
I must also look at new music for the opera co. and the music club tomorrow.
Birthday greetings Susan and GMB DD🌺

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

I had a bit of a relapse yesterday so didn’t do much. Dinner was the other half of a beef stew I had frozen. I also made an apricot and lemon clafoutis. I feel brighter this morning.

Our cleaner should be here this morning and our gardener is due for the first time since this year.

I will pop to Waitrose via the petrol station. The tank is nearly full but the news from the Middle East is not good. OH filled his car up yesterday and then discovered his MOT ran out last week! Our local garage used to send out reminders but the news owner doesn’t. As soon as OH is out of bed he will have to ring them up. We’ve all done this, haven’t we?

Have a good day, especially those with birthdays.

Good morning from a bright, sunny Suffolk where the sun is predicted to last all day.

We had a pleasant visit to DS’s yesterday but didn’t see DGD3,age 15, as she had previously arranged to go round to a friend’s house for the day. She is working hard for her GCSEs so her social life at the weekends is crucial to her well-being she says.

The rooms are very noisy and active building new nests in the clump of trees next to the ones which they used for the last couple of years. The snowdrops have finished flowering but we have many more clumps of primroses than we have ever had before.

We have bluebells after the primroses and then nettles in the dell. The predictability of nature in the garden is a reassuring part of life for us in the midst of this uncertain world.

I hope those with celebrations today have a lovely day and those unwell find some comfort.

My day will involve the usual dog walk and then tackling the ironing pile and a stint in the garden.

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞Northampton, a fine sunny day is expected.

Have stripped the bed and got the bedding in the washing machine - I think I may hang it out to dry.
May start getting a few bits and pieces out this morning ready to pack for my holiday.
The cats are being collected after lunch to go to the cattery for their holidays. Keeping my fingers crossed that they are not difficult to find when it's time to go into their carriers!

Then I shall pop up on the bus to DS's to drop a card and small gift in for DGD1 who passed her driving test last week. Hoping that DS will give me a lift home.

Wishing all a pleasant Monday.

Good morning everyone from Glasgow, where it is 7°C.

Happy birthday, Susan, and GMBs DD.

GM*, do you have a Lidl near you. I find their baking materials cheaper and far superior to the other supermarkets.
Surely you don't do all the baking on your own? We get so many donations for our Sunday morning café, we end up selling what is left.

I'm struggling just now, I have had little sleep again, my pain levels are so high, despite being on the maximum dose of pain relief.

Added to that, a tearful DIL is making such slow progress and DS is so angry about everything that has happened. Of course, I am in the firing line.
She has an appointment with the surgeon this morning and understandably, everyone is anxious.

I am ashamed to admit to feeling some resentment, that no-one gives a thought to my wellbeing. I'm expected to be superwoman and keep going..

This morning I am off to Mass, the fundraising money needs to go to the bank, so I will give the counters a hand.
On the way home, I will stop at B&M to pick up some storage boxes. DH has promised to help me tidy up the linen cupboard, I can't reach the top, even with steps.
After that, I may work on the Parish website, I have at last mastered how to make it look slicker, I am a sad person, if that is what makes me happy.😉
I do love You Tube, for learning new skills.

Best wishes to all, especially the mountaineers.

Happy birthday Susan flowers

Happy birthday, susan. 56 ? 😆
And to your DD, batty.

Good morning from a sunny N. Bucks. I’m hoping it lasts so I can at least have a sweep up in the garden. First I must clean the bathroom and downstairs loo.
FDH is happy as he is off to golf soon but will put a wash load pin and hoover downstairs before he goes.
Happy birthday Susan56.
This evening DD2 and I are going to a talk locally entitled Ladies of the Grand Tour.
Wishing all a good day with a smile along the way.

Jaxjacky Mon 02-Mar-26 08:17:20

EkwaNimitee whete is your next holiday booked? You go to some lovely places.

karmalady Mon 02-Mar-26 08:28:41

Good morning from s somerset, bright and breezy today

At least I don`t need to use my stove today, that sun makes all the difference

I am just back from filling up my car, no sign yet of any national oil problem. I have an extended family member in the oil trading business, my car was just empty. 14 mile round trip for fuel

Ocado list is started for next weekend and I need to ring heating engineer to check they have my e mail address, I am not mean enough to chase this very busy man but am on tenterhooks

In-house pottering today. keeping up with the cleaning and tentatively thinking about allotment growing. Craft group later and some knitting

Two DDs were out and about again yesterday, one running cross country from Brecon to Cardiff and she finished in the first 25% The other was first and on the podium for her great successes all through 2025.I find it tiring just following their progress on open tracking.

Sansevierias all look very good and I have over thirty bits of leaves to propagate, just in water and I will use kilners. I was tempted and succumbed, to buying a few rare varieties, ordered the cheapest tiny ones in 8cm pots

harrigran Mon 02-Mar-26 08:29:15

Good morning from a dry NE where it feels milder.
Yesterday was a quiet day with so e reading and TV watching.
DD rang mid afternoon and we had a long chat, she was multi tasking, doing the ironing while we talked. She is so much happier in her new job.
Dinner was easy last night, mince and dumplings left over from Saturday just reheated with vegetables and a glass of rose wine.
Light housework today and then some more TV.
Happy birthday Susan.
Have a good day.

grandMattie Mon 02-Mar-26 08:41:42

MD, there are two lidls around here, both requiring a longish bus journey hit the bus turns up!). The only biggish supermarket within walking distance is Waitrose, 20 minutes brisk walk away.
We have a mini Coop and mini Tesco in the village but, of course, they don’t have everything I’m looking for.
Everything is geared for car owners,

grandMattie Mon 02-Mar-26 08:44:32

And, no, no one else helps with the baking on a Wednesday.

Gingster Mon 02-Mar-26 08:48:37

Good morning all and the sun is shining.

Yesterday was a cooking, reading and tv day. DS, DIL and gd3 popped in after their walk for a quick drink and sit down.

I’m meeting my friend for an early lunch and catch up.,

Take care all and enjoy the sun, 🌱

Georgesgran Mon 02-Mar-26 09:05:09

Good Morning from Durham. Total cloud coverage, but it’s dry and forecast to be mild all week.
A busy weekend with DD2 and DGS2, so I don’t feel as if I’ve had a break.
My friend and I are visiting another friend today, recovering from a hysterectomy - I’m getting some flowers in M&S on the way. We think she’ll want to go out for coffee and cake.
Must sort out a central heating service on my rental property today.
A friend’s wife died yesterday, so I need to post a sympathy card. She had a long battle with cancer, which spread and was untreatable.

Thinking of others going through challenging times.

Best wishes to all. X

Stilllearning Mon 02-Mar-26 09:13:26

Good morning from South Lanarkshire, it looks a bit brighter or at least drier today. Yesterday’s birthday celebration afternoon tea with DD and granddaughters was great fun as well as delicious, it did me a power of good, although I’m a bit tired this morning. Having said that it’s chair yoga at midday and then lunch at a friend’s house who still enjoys entertaining even though on a smaller scale than she used to, so I’m looking forward to that too

When I came home yesterday I wrote up the minutes of a parish meeting ready for later this week and am feeling relieved that it’s done. I always mean to do them on the day, but I’m a terrible procrastinator and I don’t suppose I’m going to change now.

Well done you grandMattie for your massive commitment in baking for such large numbers, I’ll bet the regular chats mean a lot to the people attending.

I hope everyone has a decent day in this turbulent world.

EkwaNimitee Mon 02-Mar-26 09:57:55

Jax I am off to Malta next, long wanted to see Valletta’s Grand Harbour.
Good job I didn’t go for my alternative…Jordan!

GrandmaC47 Mon 02-Mar-26 10:15:21

A dry, brighter and milder day in the south of Co Durham.
The black cloud over me seems to be lifting 🫰.
I’m in awe of some of you ladies who achieve so much whilst being beset with health and other problems. Would that I could refind my get up and go.
Had luck with my friend last Friday, the first time since November. We’re trying to resume our weekly meet-up.
While we were eating dd1 text inviting dh and me to go for a meal with them to celebrate my upcoming birthday. Don’t think we’ve been together on my birthday since my 70th. Of course she asked me to book a table.
Good news today. Dgd has got into the school of her choice for September, so she will stay with the friends she has had since she was three.
Well done, Madeleine and Happy Birthday, Susan
Thinking of Fgt.

Jaxjacky Mon 02-Mar-26 10:58:21

Phew Ekwa!,

Good morning everyone from overcast Lancashire.

MrB and I have enjoyed our usual morning walk around the Dock. We tend to encounter the same fellow walkers, joggers and dog walkers each day and everyone is wishing everyone else a good morning. Sometimes people stop for a chat. It’s quite sociable.

Happy birthday Susan.

Marydoll thinking of you dear friend, hope your DiL gets some good news today flowers

As always, thinking of those with troubles in their lives. Wishing you a good day wherever you’re doing.

Litterpicker Mon 02-Mar-26 11:16:18

Good morning, Mick and all. The sun is shining here in West Sussex by the sea and I am planning to do some tidying up in our very tiny garden and decide what should come out and what can take its place - I have a miscanthus (grass) which needs taming and an apricot tree in a pot which would be better in the ground.

Madeleine, as has been said before, you are amazing. I’m glad you recovered your lens cap, a heroic effort and that you enjoyed the walled garden. Have you thought of getting a hoist to help with getting your wheelchair in and out of your car? I know these things are expensive but maybe available secondhand - my daughter uses a wheelchair and is hoping to get a hoist fitted so that she can be more independent.

Marydoll, I am so sorry to read that things continue so difficult for your family. I hope the appointment with the surgeon is positive for your DiL.

Melanie, your list of items bought at IKEA made me smile!

Happy Birthday Susan and *Grandmabatty’s DD.

Thoughts with others on here not feeling on top form. May the spring sunshine make things better for everyone 🌼

Ilovedogs22 Mon 02-Mar-26 11:28:11

Good morning from the west midlands. A lovely, breezy spring-like day. Thank goodness because here at I love dogs towers, we were running-out of clean knickers! That wouldn't do as I'm not going commando, because I'm a lady. (Dog sniggering.)
Have the best day possible everyone & may your pants always dry. 😶

glammagran Mon 02-Mar-26 11:38:07

Happy Birthday wishes to Susan56, Grandmabatty’s DD and belated greeting to Jax 🎂 🥂🪻

Grammaretto Mon 02-Mar-26 11:55:23

Good morning all from my train homeward bound after a fab weekend in Cambridge.
Actually the train I'm on is destined for Brighton but I have to go south to catch the fast train to Edinburgh.

Well done retrieving your lens Madeleine
And for managing your chair. You're unstoppable!

Happy birthdaySusan have fun.
Happy birthday to your DD Grandmabatty

Hope everyone is well enough to enjoy the day. It's sunny here and warm.
Photo taken at the botanics yesterday. A sea of daffodils.
