Good morning from Ras Al Khaimah. 3/4 way between Dubai and the Strait of Hormuz. Missiles from Iran flying noisily overhead all night on their way to Dubai . We only had 2 hits with debris from a shot down drone so far causing damage. Sleeping in windowless corridor to avoid noise and injury from blown out windows just in case. But husband plays golf. Trying to stay calm and getting home before Easter Inshallah

Good morning everyone from sunny Lancashire.

I was late posting yesterday as we had a great time at Lytham in the sunshine. It’s another warm sunny day so MrB and I have had a lovely walk by the river. We couldn’t do our usual circuit as both sets of gates are open, so no footbridge available. The walk to the river is challenging, involving a steep hill, some big steps and some cobbles that cause the triwalker to shake, but it’s worth it and I feel like I’ve had a good workout!

Phlebotomist this afternoon, results in a day or so. I’m feeling pretty good so fingers crossed!

Hope you get some answers soon and appropriate treatment Roses.

Lovely to see you posting FGT2 ♥️

As always, thinking of those with troubles in their lives.

Wishing you a good day whatever you’re doing.

Good morning all from the west midlands. A dull, chilly day here but I've shoved -out the washing anyway.
A strange phenomenon has however manifested itself here today;
the more I try to downsize, the more I actually can't find stuff! Things, such as my mother's pearls & my old bear from Hamleys for a start.
Is the the dog a secret cat burglar, perchance? He has a history of pilfering. Anyway, I wish everyone the best day possible & keep an eye out for cat-burgling teddy bears or dandy dogs with a penchant for dainty pearls.

A rather late morning all from West Oxfordshire.

I’ve been up for a while but definitely feel under the weather. My cough and cold have just about gone and my toe is so much better. OH thinks I may have had covid. He has been inoculated (he’s asthmatic) but I haven’t.

I will spend the morning on the sofa listening to my V&A course lecture. It’s on Bernini.

We had planned on popping over to a nearby pottery to look at the gardens, browse in the shop and have a light lunch. Not sure that’s happening now.

Have a good day.

Lovely to hear from FGT2.🪻

+FGT* it’s completely ok to feel overwhelmed and to cry. Your feelings are real and valid. And if eating a chocolate bunny gave you a tiny bit of comfort that’s human and understandable.
You don’t have to be „ strong“

Late again. Sainsbury’s order just arrived and put away. Now waiting for heating engineer. Our heating stopped working last night, looks like a problem with the wireless connection between the thermostat and boiler. Hopefully he can fix it.

rosesandlilac sorry to hear you aren't well. Hope your tests come through soon. Hugs to fgt2 take care you are one special lady. Himself would be really proud of you

Good morning from a very misty part of Essex. Yesterday was sunny and warm and perfect for some pressure washing of paths, etc. I’ll tackle it a bit at a time to avoid aggravating joint issues.
It’s lovely to see our FGT posting, and sharing some more wise words from Himself, thank you.
Wishing those with worries and in discomfort a gentle day.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Bright but still cold.
I had my usual semi sleepless night ending in a deep sleep until after 8 if I don't set the alarm.
I have yarn group but now with a cold perhaps I should spare the others.

I am going to revisit the house I looked at and rather liked, last month. This time taking an architect, a contractor and a good friend to keep me right 😂

I hope your day goes well FGT xx

When DH died I tried to fill my days and go for walks with a friend. I still do the filling, not enough walks. I never refused an invitation.

Hope everyone has some joy today.

Thoughts to Georgesgran too💐

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside sandhills northwest coast.
Music club went well yesterday with a better turnout, probably due to the better weather. I was on the desk and sang three songs, but one, being the first time, I realised didn’t suit me, even though I love it. Lesson learned…

Popped my blood pressure chart into the surgery and home for a FaceTime with flying DD in the south, her Dubai flights cancelled. We discussed financial matters and my claim for roof repairs has been declined by the insurance co., stating maintenance rather than storm damage.

I seem to be going to bed earlier and earlier, my hip bothering me through the night and have an opera co. rehearsal tonight twenty miles away, so will give the usual lunchtime recital a miss.
Madeleine mentioned her trips going into her “jewel box of memories*, such a lovely expression and, god willing, I hope to do more this spring and summer.

It’s a hard time, I know FGT💐 and thoughts to all🌺

Good morning from an overcast NE.
Yesterday it was sunny all day but the wind was chilling.
Sister and BIL are visiting this afternoon and will take me shopping. They also will be bringing a box of Yorkshire crisps from their online order. The most delicious crisps I have ever tasted.
I had another win on the premium bonds, I am lucky as I win something most months so ends up paying better interest than any bank account.

Good morning all from an overcast Glasgow, where it is 2°C.

I am sorry to hear you have been in hospital, Roses, what shame, they couldn't have done the tests, while you were an inpatient.💐

As Ash has said, Mick, perhaps better to rest your leg, unless you urgently need shopping.

Yesterday, I took Dollie to school, it was such an upsetting experience. She sobbed in the car, giving me all her worries and asking me not to tell mummy or daddy, because they would be upset.😪

I then had the most horrendous drive in rush hour to pick up DH. My stomach was churning, by the time I found him. He had been sitting in Costa, drinking coffee, while I was experiencing a racing heart from the stress,
Some of the driving I was subjected to, was downright dangerous.
I then had to repeat the journey at 5pm, with DH, advisingme, how to drive, the whole time! 🤬
I was so late home, I missed a fundraising committee meeting, I was not pleased.

As a punishment, I dragged DH round the retail park, Home Bargains, TKMaxx etc. I picked up a few bargains for upcoming birthdays and a few things for DH.

I am pretty wiped out this morning, but we are taking DIL for a hospital appointment, then doing the school run at 3pm. It's going to be another busy day.
The hospital is at the top of a very steep hill, with it being almost impossible to park. I'm fretting already.
I long for a day of doing nothing. It ain't going to happen.

Yesterday, I received a PM from scammer David.
He had copied the actor David Arquette's information, word from word from Wiki. Not very clever, if he was trying to seduce me and was after my money. He wasn't convincing!
He has no chance, I spent it all yesterday.😉

It was lovely to see you posting, FGT, ♥️

Baubles I hope your DH manages to speak to someone.
DIL has the District Nurse, coming in every day, to dress her wound, Could the surgery contact one of the nurses to come out?

Have a good day folks, best wishes to our mountaineers. X

Good morning everyone from an overcast Northampton, my last post from home before my holiday.

I am being picked up to go to Heathrow after lunch today, where I am staying in a hotel before a very early flight tomorrow morning.

Spent yesterday morning packing, just a few more things to go in after I have had my shower this morning. Sadly the forecast is not good for Spain and rain is expected, but at least it will be warmer rain! Umbrella and raincoat are in the suitcase!

A lovely upbeat post FGT2 - I used to do my crying in the shower. Your dear man would not wish you to be sad.

Wishing all a pleasant day.

WhiteSwan63 Wed 04-Mar-26 08:29:12

Good morning everyone from the east coast and another sunny mild day for us. It was so lovely yesterday and I walked round to our local shops. While in Morrisons collecting my Amazon parcel I saw a big orchid arrangement, as I was walking I asked if they would put it behind the counter. I went back for it after picking up the car and gave it to DH as a gift he is mad about orchids.
I managed to go in the garden and got all the weeds out of the veg patch. I spread two trugs of very smelly leaf mulch over it and wow did it smell but hope it does the soil good. Our grass is long and I think we will need next door’s gardener with his big lawnmower to go over it. Our cordless one won’t touch it now. DH said he’d need to strim it first. He’s so busy though and is really tired when he gets home.
It was lovely to sit out with a coffee too inbetween gardening.

Today it’s the usual gym and going for DGS and fingers are crossed again for another good day for him.

Wishing everyone a good day with a moment of joy and sunshine 🌼

Jaxjacky Wed 04-Mar-26 08:27:26

Morning from a bright S Hants, a very bright moon last night. Bedding to be washed today and I’ll be venturing out, im becoming rather reclusive, small steps.
Good to see you FGT gently does it 💐

Good morning from sunny Suffolk where our grass shows evidence of a frost overnight.

I have an all day remote meeting which I have managed to prepare for after the blip with the laptop a couple of days ago.

Thank you FGT for keeping in touch.it’s good to know you are coping with your enormous sadness. Hope others with struggles are too.

Time for another cup of tea before I step into work mode.

Good morning all and it’s Misty here in Essex.

I did some dead heading and clearing in our tiny garden, tried tying back the Camelia but it’s strong and wayward but getting in the way of the shed door. It’s full of buds and ready to burst. 🌺.

Clearing out cupboards to make room for things we’ll be bringing back from our seaside cottage at the weekend. We can’t bring much as I have very little storage room here.

Today I’ll walk up to town and meet my old pal for coffee. She wants a plant from the market stall, which I’ll buy for her upcoming birthday. A lovely bowl of springtime! I’ll buy another for our friend who ferries us about.

Dh has the chiropodist coming and then will go out for brunch with his old school friend.

Keep strong Fgt you’re doing well 💐.
RosesandLilac I’m glad you’re home and hope your breathing improves.,🙏
Take care all.🌱

Good morning from Durham. Another fine start - yesterday was glorious, so fingers crossed for the same. I had my car washed after coffee with a friend - it was so dirty (I mean filthy) the poor chap had to do it twice!
It’s a ‘funny’ week - a friend’s wife died on Sunday, yesterday marked 3 years since my lovely friend of 40 years died and today is the 5th anniversary of my DH taking his final breath in this World. There are still odd days, when I think he’s around somewhere and will be home later. I’m always grateful that he retired at 55 and had 10 brilliant years, following his hobbies, before, out of the blue he became ill a month before he would have retired. Fate?
I plan a quiet day - a bit of admin, some housework and a walk with DD2’s Little Dog before dark.

Best wishes to all. X

Good morning from a bright, calm Cornwall. Didn't get to experience the thrown coloured powder at my grandchildren's event yesterday as my bus didn't turn up. Disappointed, I jumped on a train to a city and bought a jigsaw. (Ooh, I know to live 😂.)

Later in the day I withdrew from silversmithing. My arthritic hands are making it unsafe to use the tools. I may try metal clay one day, but I've enjoyed learning the techniques thus far.

Today it's craft group at a library a bus ride away and then I'll head for Portreath on the north coast as it looks like the sun is likely to show.

The robins are waiting on my patio for food so I must stir myself to please them! One of them walked into my flat yesterday. 😍

NannyJan53 Wed 04-Mar-26 07:57:40

Good morning from a bright and sunny Black Country, at last!

Yesterday was quite dull until late afternoon.

7 mile walk yesterday, lots of chat, then coffee at the end. Lovely cafe on what used to be a Railway Station, called The Platform. At least we managed to sit outside.

Thought I was doing well on the journey, no roadworks. Then 3/4 of the way there, roadworks!

Then onto Mums ( as I was halfway there already), where I picked up her prescription. Took some paperwork to her Doctors Surgery, then onto Lidl.

u3a Amblers group walk this morning, usually only 2 miles or so. The I hope to clean the windows and the Uvpc surrounds this afternoon. See how I feel.
