Hello WhiteSwan, I’m not a regular here, I just happened to see the item about keeping dogs foot dressings dry. I had a beloved greyhound, always problems with his paws, in desperation I turned a rubber glove inside out, and it cushioned his foot as well as being waterproof. I kept it on with the sticky crepe bandage they sold at the farm supplies shop. Worth a try?

WhiteSwan63 Fri 06-Mar-26 18:13:50

Hi, she came through the op really well. She is at home with a bandage on and has to go back on Monday for a dressing change. My mum has to try and keep the bandage dry when she goes out in the garden and that could be a hard task. Thankyou for asking. X

Good Morning from a drizzle Kent. I have been to a Zumba class, which was great fun, dancing to disco music. That was followed by Chair Pilates which is not an easy option! Home for lunch.

After a dry couple of days with some sunshine, unfortunately it is grey and rainy today. I went on a lovely walk with the women's group that I belong to on Wednesday, and it was a lovely day and we sat outside a pub and had a drink. I hope it stops soon because I have to collect my grandson from preschool. I'm in Berkshire.

Three gorgeous cold nut sunny days this week in County Durham, washing drying outside. This morning - snow !! Unbelievable, just have to take each day as it comes I suppose, and be grateful we are here to see it. Happy Friday🥰

Good morning everyone from overcast Lancashire.

It’s quite chilly here, MrB and I have had a lovely walk down to the Dock gates. My tum seems settled, I’m feeling a bit weak and wobbly while I rehydrate.

Got some phlebotomist results. Blood pressure was 118 / 73, (measured in the usual way not a blood test). My thyroid function is fine, I’m on medication for an under active thyroid and it’s doing its job. Will check again later for further results.

As always, thinking of those with troubles in their lives.

Wishing you a good day whatever you’re doing. 🌹

Well done madeleine 💪👏

No Marydoll hope things are ok.

Annapops Fri 06-Mar-26 09:39:18

Good morning from Durham....and we have snow. We've decided to postpone today's outing until tomorrow, as we had planned to go to Kiplin Hall and wander around the gardens too.
Will aim to do a little spring cleaning instead and then treat ourselves to lunch at our local historic house, just to break up the day.
Wishing all the best day possible.

Good morning from a grey and rainy NE.
Rain started at 8pm last night and was really heavy at bedtime.
Nothing planned for today so will do some cooking for tomorrow when DS and GD visit.
Yesterday was dry and sunny so I went into the garden and sprayed the patio with weed killer, winter has not stopped weed growth at all.
Don't get me started on boiler thermostats, haven't fathomed out mine nor could DS or SIL I leave the thermostat in the study, smallest and warmest room, at night and move it around the house as required.
I thought it was because I am old but if the younger ones can't work it then that is a relief.
Have a good day.

Marzipan22 Fri 06-Mar-26 09:26:56

Gingster, thank you. I couldn't do most of it without the benefit of my bus pass, so very much appreciated. Also, it helps living in such a lovely part of the country! 😍

GrandmaC47 Fri 06-Mar-26 09:19:02

Madeleine, grandMattie, I’m always amused by young people who look astounded when I pay using Apple Pay!

GrandmaC47 Fri 06-Mar-26 09:15:23

Georgesgran, that made me laugh. Son in law just been, less than five minutes to sort it 😂 don’t know where I went wrong.
We’ve now got fluffy snow mixed with the rain here in the south of Co Durham.

Grandmabatty Fri 06-Mar-26 09:11:02

GrandMattie so it's nature and nurture with Iris. It's definitely nature with dgs2!

grandMattie Fri 06-Mar-26 09:10:38

Oh, congratulations, madeleine on putting that patronising, parroting “infant” in her place.
My DH was a bank manager and insisted on using cash. He used to get very cross when having to pay for, say, a cup of coffee with his card. I try to do the same and am often met with pitying “poor old dear” looks!

grandMattie Fri 06-Mar-26 09:08:21

Sorry, Ash and batty, but Iris has been temperamental since she was about 3. Hormones may make it worse.
Despite their efforts to treat her “normally”, inevitably constant and persistent allowance has been made for her. She plays heavily on it when it suits her and dislikes me because occasionally I remonstrate with her!

Good morning from Shropshire.Drizzling at the moment.

I had a lovely afternoon with my friend yesterday putting the world to rights! It was warm enough to sit in the conservatory which was a bonus.

Today usual Friday night sleepover for the children.

Grammaretto Toto is a ninja cat!I only know this as it is a book by Dermot O’Leary who went to DGD’s school this week.

Bellasnana, the children came for their sleepover on a different day in half term and it took us a week to catch up on which day it actually was🤪

I really hope you get a follow up appointment soon Roses🙏🏻

Wishing everyone the best day possible 🦩🌻

Good morning from a wet northwest coast.
DS came over yesterday, haven’t seen him for a while and he did a few jobs for me. I cooked a piece of gammon with cloves and brown sugar and we had a jolly evening watching tv.

I have art this morning, then I’m going to pick up a garden mirror which he will affix to a wall. Staying In tonight.
Thoughts to all 🌺

Gingster Fri 06-Mar-26 08:32:59

Good morning. Yesterday was glorious all day. We sat in the garden and had our coffee. The sun was so warm, washing dried . I spring cleaned the conservatory but couldn’t face cleaning the windows . Maybe today .

When I popped into the pharmacy to order new eye drops the chap who works there said ‘Mrs Gingster, you haven’t had your RSV jab, would you like it now. ? Ok I said and that was that. No reactions or sore arm. That’s service for you 👏.

Today I’ll shop for our weekend at the seaside cottage. Both sons coming with us. More sorting to do. Theyll take their dad to the local football match as he hasn’t been since before Christmas due to the weather.

Marzipan I love the way you live your life especially on a budget. Outings and adventures. Simple pleasures.😉. .

Roses glad to see you back. Take it easy.

Redcar my son was caught up with the train debacle too. A long working day in London, made more tiring and frustrating.
It seems to happen more and more.

FGT enjoy your fish and chips.,£7 a real bargain. You can add on another £10 for f and c around here.

Take care all

Thanks for that NannyJan not a fishery I recognise but will mention it to DH could possibly book it for one of his mid week contests.

Grammaretto Fri 06-Mar-26 08:29:42

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Wet but not raining.

I'm the opposite of bright eyed and bushy tailed 😔🤧 with stuffed up nose, headache and just so tired.

I went into town yesterday and saw the Biba exhibition with my friend. Lots of reminiscing. She had once bought a dress from a Biba shop in Edinburgh but all I could afford was some eyeshadow.

I have to do my volunteer shift on my own this morning so hope the café doesn't get too busy.
I think I will have to call off my Friday fish night.

Glad you are out and about with friends FGT smile

Lovely photos NannyJan.

DD sent me photos of her girls dressed up as characters from books for World Book Day. I wish I could show them, brilliant.
One is Hilda the explorer with dyed green hair, the other Toto ninja something.

Hope everyone has an ok day.

Georgesgran Fri 06-Mar-26 08:29:26

Good Morning from Durham. It poured down from 8pm last night and it’s still raining, albeit not so heavy.
Yesterday. I had a lovely catch up with 2 old work colleagues - they are much more involved and it was sad to hear familiar names, who are no longer with us.
GrandmaC47 I call my new(ish) boiler Merlin, because it comes on by magic, I’m not stupid, but it’s totally unpredictable and I don’t understand it at all!
I had planned a day out today, but I’ve kept DD2’s Little Dog and to be honest the weather has put me off that idea.
My friend has text to go over for a coffee, so I might well do that.

Best wishes to all. X

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 06-Mar-26 08:23:25

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. My alarm woke me at 8 an. It’s a good thing I set it as I’m going out later,

It is the monthly WI coffee morning and I’m giving a lift to two ladies. We usually meet at the coffee shop in the village but every three months we go further afield. So we are off to a garden centre half an hour away.

After lunch I have a hair appointment - cut and blow dry.

OH will have a quiet day in. He had a bit of a dizzy spell yesterday.

Have a good day everyone, it is good that you’re meeting up with friends FGT2. 🌹
