Good Morning Everyone,
A dark and wet start to the day here in Brackley this morning.
Today, indoors housework and laundry to do this morning, followed by lunch and cycling on TV this afternoon .
Health wise OK , legs healed OK.
Take Care,
Mick
Thank you FGT2, I just keep chugging along 😎
I’m so pleased to read how well you are doing these days Blossoming you had such a torrid time earlier in the NY.
Good morning everyone from misty Lancashire.
MrB and I are running late this morning as we slept in. My alarm went off at 7am to remind me to take my first meds, then I went back to sleep. We have enjoyed a circular walk around the Dock, bacon rolls to follow.
I will read the full thread over lunch.
As always, thinking of those with troubles in their lives.
Wishing you a good day whatever you’re doing.
The winter flowering cherry tree is prunus autumnalis according to Google. Corner As you say it's lovely whatever its Latin name is
Good morning from a grey damp east coast.
We have a day to ourselves so are going into our nearby city to get DH his birthday present finally. He wants two tee shirts for the gym. I can’t stand Sports Direct but I need another sports under garment so needs must. The Under armour tees he likes are a better price from there for me to buy him.
I have Next vouchers too so I may have a look at their summer linen stuff for wearing in China. It will be very hot when we go. We will have lunch out at a Lounge restaurant which has a really good gluten free menu.
Yesterday our little GDs were delightful we fed the ducks and they played on the park. They then were treated to an ice cream and a cookie the size of a brick in a cafe. DH did a lovely huge pasta for us all for tea. My DD is always telling me I put too much on GD2s plate so I need to be more mindful about that. I am a feeder.
Wishing everyone a Sunday with moments of joy🌼
Special thoughts to those with worries and sadness 💐
Do you know I’ve no idea grammaretto. It’s a very old tree, was here when we moved in. The clever identification app says it’s plum. It never fruits. We assumed cherry but maybe not. I asked our gardeners. Their response? It’s a tree with pink blooms! 🤣. We’re just happy to see it.
Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 2°C,
Yesterday was glorious, with the bed stripped and sheets dried outside, I love to see sheets, billowing in the wind
Baubles your poor man.😔
Roses, I am glad, you managed a short walk.♥️
My morning yesterday, was taken up with Parish duties, I am dealing with a delicate issue, involving two parishioners, The P.P, as usual, thinks I would be better dealing with it, it is taking up so much of my time.
The morning was gone, bfore I knew it.
I was working away, when I heard a voice like a foghorn, shouting Ga, Ga!.
Babydoll had arrived and was very hungry,
DS had been attempting to feed her, but she was insisting, that only Ga Ga makes her lunch.
She is wild, but was so loving and affectionate. She had been visiting DIL and told me that Dollie was her best friend.
Dollie's bedroom has been recently done up and Baydoll decided she was moving in, because there were two beds and one was hers,
Dollie was horrified.🤣
Yesterday, I arrived at church to find the young sacristan, checking the £2000+ order. Of course, there were items missing. We only found out later, the P.P didn't want them cluttering his hallway, so put them in a cupboard. 🤬
Normally, I would pick up the bulletins from the offiice and put them in the church, however, the young sacristan had looked everywhere, but no bulletins and no P.P to be found.
The presbytery was like the Marie Celeste, so I decided to go into the PC, find the bulletin and print the usual 300 copies.
By 3,15pm, he should have been down in the church and at 3.30pm, I went looking for him.
There he was, sitting at the computer, dressed in casual clothes!!
I explained he had a queue of people, waiting to see him, but he said he was busy!
He is becoming worryingly forgetful.
My diverticulitis has flared up and I have had little sleep.
However, I have a new jute rug for the dining room and am desperate to get it down,
DH, however, is being his usual obstructive self. I certainly cannot move the heavy table on my own,
He will do it, when it suits him. 🤬
I have tripped over the present rug, soo many times,vI am afraid of falling.
I wish you all a pleasant day, the sun is peaking through the clouds. Hopefully another day like yesterday.
Good morning from my bit of sunny but cold South Lanarkshire.
Sorry to read of your husband’s knee problem baubles, I do hope it gets sorted soon. Healing process definitely seems to weaken when we’re older which is one more challenge, although you must feel that knee has provided enough.
I’m enjoying my weekend visit from DGD, and am trying to decide whether to pull her out of bed for mass this morning and go for brunch after or leave her and go tonight to our very handy 5pm one. We stayed up much too late last night so perhaps the latter.
DD is taking DGS to a dance competition in Edinburgh today and will collect both of us this evening. She can then accompany me to an unscheduled eye appointment tomorrow morning re my macular degeneration which is, unfortunately causing me a bit of worry.
I’ve been wondering how Kalu is, hope all is well if you’re reading.
Wishing everyone a good day
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where the sun is taunting me by streaming into my bedroom.
I've looked outside though and there's ice on the ground.
I had a very nice day yesterday apart from the rather ill humoured meeting to decide how our Saturday coffee mornings are to be organised in future since we have so few volunteers and no young ones coming forward. We may have to stop.
A father and daughter came for pottery in the afternoon and told me they wanted to make plates. They did! I'll need to finish them off and fire them and then they can come back and decorate them.
I was invited to dinner to a Portuguese friend who I know through ceilidh dancing. She lives in a new house on one of the estates which are popping up all over the place in farmer's fields.
I would love her house if it could be where I live.
Baubles I am sorry DH's after care has been so poor. I hope his wounds heal properly now.
Beautiful blossom Corner is it cherry?
Have a good Sunday everyone.
Good morning from a dull northwest coast. The charity event in the church hall in the next village was a bit chaotic. Clothes piled up on tables to root through. I bought homemade plum chutney and cakes to freeze. Then a walk through the park with coffee.
In the evening into the city for meet up with soprano friend but there has been a change of management at our favourite restaurant and the food was disappointing. Nevertheless we had a good time and a bop around 💃🏻. Earlyish home, then the dreaded cramp. Often happens after a couple of drinks and being on my feet for a long stretch. Magnesium spray helps a lot.
Tonight to another shindig, but in this town. An artist friend’s open mic. I’ll go early to secure a seat and take her my painted birthday card.
After flying DDs Dubai cancellations, she’s off to Capetown today. She fills in gaps from flying at the local hospital in the ante natal dept.,which is useful.
Glad your leg is better Mick, thoughts to FGT and all poorlies🌺
Buenos Dias again from a sunny Spain. The weather bodes well for a pleasant walk to the local market this morning.
Had a good day out yesterday to Valencia, visiting both the new modern arts and sciences centre, and the ancient city centre; wonderful buildings. The indoor market was a mass of brightly coloured stalls containing fruit, vegetables, huge hams and cheeses. The rain held off mostly and we were able to see and hear the celebrations as the locals started the first day of the firework festival.
May have another walk along the prom this afternoon if it stays fine.
Wishing all a pleasant Sunday.
Good morning from Durham.
The mist is so thick that the valley is obliterated, I do hope it burns off later.
Yesterday was such a glorious day so all house jobs were abandoned. DH discovered a river walk a short drive away that we had never explored before. Although fields and paths were quite muddy in part we were rewarded. The sun shone, not a cloud in the sky, the rushing pounding water, bird song and buds bursting to life, such a delight for the senses.
Once home the quiche I had made earlier (six eggs near their end by date desperate to be used) turned out really well. I haven't made a quiche in years so was pleasantly surprised.
Well today, I will attempt to do all the jobs missed yesterday. Have the best day you can everyone.
Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s dry for now Alexa tells me it’s 11°C later today.
I’m invited over to younger daughter’s mid afternoon for a roast pork dinner seems I’ve really passed that baton along but in time I’ll take a turn. More likely book a table at a local restaurant for us all occasionally ~ too many pots and pans, no dishwasher and restricted space here really. Suits me down to the ground but I know not everyone would enjoy living in such a small place!
I really enjoyed going over to see old friends yesterday afternoon. Cathartic tears were shed. We all can’t believe Himself has gone that’s the top and bottom of it. However we als enjoyed reminiscing and had some laughs along the way too.
Doing my best to Stay Strong as I promised him I would.
I’m okay until I’m not xx
Good morning Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where it is grey and misty. Apart from one bathroom break I slept until just before eight.
I bought some ginger and lemon tea bags from Aldi yesterday which were very strong and gave me terrible reflux. I had to take Gaviscon to settle it. Never had that happen before and I shall be consigning them to the bin.
I wasn’t particularly busy yesterday - cleaned all the inside windows but baulked at the conservatory. Fifteen windows. Not enough energy!
I must try and get out today for some air. Perhaps a walk in the nearby country park.
Have the best day you can, folks.
Good Morning from a grey, murky Durham. Yesterday’s meal was good, the service dire, but the DDs said I didn’t look well! I was mortified when they pointed out I hadn’t done any eye makeup up! I’d done my foundation, but had then been waylaid - I felt quite self conscious and unfinished. I’m shallow!
Today is my ‘day off’. I’ve light bulbs to change, new bank cards to deal with and a house insurance proposal price to better! I might check my rental house to pick up any post and get a coffee at a garden centre on my way home.
Best wishes to all. X
Morning Mick, morning All from a grey, gloomy corner of Somerset.
A productive day yesterday including a walk to our nearest shops, the air was very damp and chilly. A bus was waiting for our return so on we hopped.
I’ll be carrying on with my re organisation of what is laughingly called my office - a table and a large cupboard - this morning. Maybe another walk under the gloom of heavy skies if it stays dry. Roast chicken later, mainly because I ‘found’ some pigs in blankets in the freezer.
The tree outside our kitchen window is covered in blossom and lifts my spirits each time I look out. I’ll try to add a photo
Hope your husbands knee behaves now baubles and there’s some reassurance for you both.
Safe travels to all on the move. Have the best day you can everyone.
Gelisajams when my MiL died our friends bought us a rose named after her Irene's delight, it should have been pink but when it flowered it was yellow which happened to be her favourite rose colour.
Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a lovely sunny start to the day
Yesterday I enjoyed pottering about in the garden for a few hours, it was good to see so many things starting to grow. Then I was out last night at a country music event in town, a really good night with lots of dancing too. Today I’m hoping to catch up with DD2 at sometime and get back out in the garden again
Hoping your DHs knee is much better soon Baubles
Good steady progress Jax well done
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
Good morning all from a damp North Leicestershire. It's a bit chilly too.
We have DGS3 and DGD1 coming for lunch. They invited themselves and he will drive. It's scary how quickly DGS3 has grown up. He is doing a Degree Apprenticeship with a decent salary, has a pension and his own car. His sister is still the floaty girl she always was.
Have the best day possible everyone.
A late Good Morning from Malta where it’s cloudy with a high of 18°C.
Yesterday I got a lot of cleaning done before the cat Winston was dropped off by my son and his girlfriend who were off to Bulgaria in search of a flat. They are moving there to live by the beginning of April. I shall miss them but hope to visit once they are settled.
Shortly after the cat arrived so did the boys who were their usual adorable selves. They kept me busy all day, I enjoy them so much, it’s a lovely age and they are happy little souls.
After they left Winston did what he’s never done before - he miaowed non-stop until the evening. I don’t know what his problem was but he eventually curled up on my lap and stayed there while I watched the tennis which finished at around 3am.
I didn’t dare move so slept on the sofa until 5 then went to bed and only woke up because my friend phoned me worried that I hadn’t answered her text yesterday. I hadn’t noticed it as my phone was on silent.
Hence I’m discombobulated, tired and not at all sure what I’m doing. I declined meeting for coffee as I didn’t feel up to leaping out of bed and getting ready.
karma I have stove envy! How lovely and cosy yours looks.
I’m going to read all your posts now. Hope you all have a good Sunday.🤗
Good morning all from a dull Black country where we have had rain overnight.
Our new neighbours arrived yesterday evening at around 11.30pm and unloaded a van so I've had a disturbed sleep seems a strange time to be moving in🤔.
baubles I hope your DHs wound starts to dry up and he has no further problems.
Roast beef for dinner and will start another book.
Enjoy your Sunday everyone whatever your plans and may you all find a little bit of ☀️.
Good morning from a cloudy calm Morecambe Bay where it is forecast to just reach double figures later.
I’m contemplating which church service to attend - the all age one or a confirmation service. DH will take Crazy dog on his own.
I shall get some gardening done this afternoon. My poor garden has been sadly neglected since getting Crazy dog but I intend getting it back to its former glory this year. It’s not very big and some of the bushes have started to take over more than their fair of space so they have been dug out over the winter leaving patches for some new plants. I bought a pack of mixed colour roses to go in but I am not sure which is the pink and which is the yellow as 2 of the 5 don’t have a colour tab on them. Getting it wrong will mess up my colour theme!
Take care everyone.
baubles I hope your dh can get his knee sorted soon.
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 1° and dry again. Cloudier than yesterday. Melanie I never sleep well when the boys stay over. My sympathy. Madeleine safe journey home. Llfl I'm thinking of buying a small ice cream maker. You have tempted me.
Yesterday went well. I was in and out of aldi fairly sharply. Bed stripped and whites washed and dried. Then housework nearly completed. In the afternoon, I put out the spring/easter decorations apart from the egg shaped ones. The boys can do that on Monday. I know it's early but the nice weather recently has spurred me on. I had a lovely salad and quiche for dinner too with plenty for tonight and tomorrow.
Today I might go to the garden centre to buy that brush i need. Then I will do some garden maintenance. Dsil is coming after football to heave the bottle bin out for tomorrow. Stupidly I kept filling it up and it's too heavy for me to lift. Dd will probably not visit. She has dgs1 to take to football academy this morning. So a quiet day for me which suits me fine. Have a good day all.
madeleine my best rugby memory was when Cornwall won at Twickenham in 1991. Our local Marine Band paraded the ground and the non-Cornish were bemused to see a troupe of men in Cornish kilts making a dreadful racket on a motley assortment of home-made drums. The drive home was spectacular, with the main route a convoy of cars and buses with Cornish scarves attached to aerials and windows. 🤣
