Good Morning Everyone,
A dark and wet start to the day here in Brackley this morning.
Today, indoors housework and laundry to do this morning, followed by lunch and cycling on TV this afternoon .
Health wise OK , legs healed OK.
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning from a damp Bristol. It has drizzled off and on from the early afternoon, but it is milder
fgt tiny steps, it takes time but you seem to be doing ok. Bawling is fine, my time was as I woke up to an empty space beside me…
Yet another very busy day yesterday; I don’t know how that happened.
First I made “fridge bottom soups” for lunch, went to clean my bit of the church before the coffee and chat.
Once home and fed, I made 35 pots of marmalade as a lot had been sold on Wednesday and I had nothing left in stock. The cranberry and orange is particularly popular.
I also made a fruit cake for my widower neighbour, who is partial to it, it’s his birthday on Sunday.
I finally designed, printed and cut out the labels required for my marmalades. Gluing is today’s job.
Today is going to be empty I think.
I often have a cuppa with my upstairs, Tesco, neighbour, but as it’s her birthday today, she is spending it with her family, so I shall be alone.
Thoughts and prayers to the mountaineers. Carpe diem 💐🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from Shropshire.Dark and drizzly at the moment.

We enjoyed our day in town with the children yesterday. After their clubs they went to a craft session at the community hub then lunch and shopping. We both fell asleep once they had gone home!

Today I am going with DD1 to a talk by several female authors. There is a whole day of events but we will just go for part of it.

Thoughts with all struggling and wishing everyone the best day possible 🦩🌻

Good morning from South Lanarkshire where we have some frost again.

Yesterday was another glorious day, albeit a bit cold. The stars were brilliant in a clear sky last night.

We spent the evening in A&E as DH’s knee dressing, which leaked already and was patched up, came away at the side and liquid was pouring out. I mopped it up and sealed the edges with large micropore dressings but I knew that it wouldn’t hold overnight.
Fortunately it wasn’t too busy and we were out after three and a half hours.
He will get a call from the orthopaedic team today to tell him if they need to see him.

By the time we got home it was too late for dinner so we had a supper of toast and cheese before bed.

Just dog walking and Mass today.

Best wishes to all for a good day.

Good morning from a misty and damp Torbay. Yesterday, the haar came in after lunch and stayed for the rest of the day.

Thank you for those who kindly enquired after my daughter and her recalcitrant tooth. I’m pleased to say that it is not causing her any pain, which is lucky because I expect she’ll have a wait for a hospital appointment.

Church this morning then I should continue sorting out the pile of papers which have accumulated on my desk, providing plenty of “food” for the recycling bin!

A blessed Sunday to all, especially those feeling sad today. 🦩💐✝️🥰🦩

Good morning from foggy s somerset, it will be dull all day and a fairly cold breeze

It was a very nice surprise to see my ecofan still twirling on top of my stove this morning. I only gave it one large fill of smokeless ovals yesterday morning and it was difficult to light, the air outside was still and heavy.

I turned the stove right down and it simmered all day and all through the night. This will be my last burn of ovals this year, might do a log fire or two but that depends on how miserable the weather is during early spring. The last hot ovals are still in there but I have safely removed all the ash. It will need a good clean this afternoon

Yesterday was calm and productive, I have planted my rocket potatoes, expecting a crop towards the end of may. I needed to work out what to put where on the allotment, to keep pests down and where to apply compost etc. It took ages to re-draw the plot and make several copies, one per month to fill in this year, to make future planning easier wrt rotations

Knitting is growing and I watched a superb play from the 70s, on youtube called Wayne and Albert. It was a play for today, there are lots of these on youtube and play for forever is a good source

Today I intend to move whatever is needed for the heating engineer to have easy access tomorrow morning

Baubles I do hope this wound starts to dry up today. It is such a worry for both of you

Good morning from Sheffield

I have had a terrible night sleep, awake every hour
I think I reverted to when my children were small and on alert as the three grandchildren slept over last night. They were absolutely fine , it was just me
One GS is a swimmer so DH has just set off to take him to practice
I’m having TIB
Their parents are coming at lunchtime for the kids then I can collapse

Take care everyone flowers

Good morning, it’s another very murky start to the day here in south Glos, it barely brightened up at all yesterday so I hope today isn’t the same.
I had a five hour art zoom session yesterday, my efforts weren’t great 😊 I enjoyed it nonetheless.
I did have a bit of a tidy up in my craft room, sorted out my materials for an embroidery but still haven’t actually got going yet!
Today I will make a start after I prepare dinner, a roast I think. Making decisions seems to be rather difficult at the moment.
I will take tiddler out for a walk, very slow going for me but I simply can’t just stay indoors all day. My breathing is a bit better outside.
I hope today goes well for you all 🌹

Good morning from a dark, drizzly but very quiet Cornwall. No buses passing my window yet as it's Sunday.

Went to a former tin-mining town yesterday where St Piran's Day celebrations were in full force. A well known male voice choir were singing in the square and their keyboard accompanist was the best I've ever heard. They sang for an hour, finishing with Trelawny, the Song of the Western Men, known and loved as the Cornish anthem, and we all sang our hearts out. Stirring and lovely. As I waited for a bus home three of the same number came along at once. Very peculiar and amusing.

Today I'm returning to the Vineyard Church I've been to before. I want to be involved again and join a weekly home group. I like their informal worship and the way children are involved, plus the coffee and doughnuts they provide before the service. 😁 After that I'll hop on the first bus that comes along and see where I end up.

I haven't had a holiday for a very long time so I'm going to have a short break away later in the month, and am waiting to hear if my ex will stand in for me as far as grandparenting duties are concerned, which is our usual arrangement.

Good Morning all, from a gloomy south central coast. We have lost the lovely spring weather of the past week and it's back to feeling chilly without the sun.

The birthdays yesterday all seemed to go well with lots of WhatsApp's whizzing around. Next instalment is my nephew in Oz on 13th and DS on 16th. A very productive month, March!

Laundry day here too Mick with lots of cycling gear in the first load. Will have to use the dryer given the weather. Otherwise, family phone calls, making meals, reading and YouTube to fill in any gaps.

Always thinking of those with struggles and hope that the day brings some ease and comfort.

Good morning from a misty Peterborough. An enjoyable morning out yesterday at a local garden centre at Elton. My brother then took us on a car drive round all the thousands of new homes being built. It is mind boggling. We rested and chatted in the afternoon and he made an excellent curry
Today we are out for lunch at Stilton.
I expect a snooze will follow. We shall travel home tomorrow.
Best wishes

Good morning Mick and all GN's on a very misty and quiet morning from co durham. Am just sorting out things ready to set of home shortly. My back and legs are not helping matters of course, but it has been lovely to be here.

We did not do anything exciting but the inside of my car finally got cleaned out a bit and did some shopping and enjoyed ourselves. I had a message to update my phone etc and dont like doing it as I am happy and used to how things are and whatever they say they usually make it a hassle to follow and remember passwords from ages ago etc. Ah well I will catch up with things when I get home. It was very peaceful and quiet here and although there were no actual leaves to be seen there was that sense of the trees beginning to green up. However there was quite a frost so dont know how the blossom will have survived on the tree at home.

I shall have a gentle drive home and enjoy the countryside and then intend to just tidy up more, put the ironing all away now it is had a time airing and enjoy my radio 3, so no great plans, but need to plan some efforts for this week to get down to the dresser sorting and bits planted in the garden so we shall see how it goes.

Glad to know that your legs are better Mick and hope you have some exciting cycling to watch. GrandMattie I have never tried cranberry and orange marmalade sounds good, and you did so much yesterday you will be ready for a rest. Baubles hope there is better news for your OH, and they can sort it out without your having to go for another long wait in hospital. Melanie sorry you had a bad night, hope you can have a little siesta this pm. Marzipan, my first husband used to play rugby for london cornish and london welsh so we used to come down and spend a lot of time all those years ago, to the rugby and to camp all over cornwall. Remember some great St Pirans day celebration. Wish I could use a tardis to be there now and enjoy the daffodils and a bit warmer weather than we have here. Hope you manage to sort out a little break too.

Wishing everyone a peaceful day today and the chance to do something that you want to do , rather than something you have to do!

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. It feels cool. Was it really blue skies and 17 degrees the other day?!

Yesterday’s Study Day in Oxford was very good. It was on Queens Regnant - Tudor, Stuart and Modern. Three excellent speakers and a delicious lunch. I met an elderly American couple who told me their views of the current crisis with trump etc. They felt nothing could be done and they wished they could emigrate!

Church this morning and I will make a chicken casserole for dinner. Pudding? We have quite a lot of homemade icecream or maybe a hot pudding if it’s chilly.

Have a good day everyone.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 08-Mar-26 07:37:43

Good morning from a grey S E Essex, not a lot happening here today.

Roast chicken for dinner this evening, i think it will be a reading on the sofa sore of day.

Jaxjacky Sun 08-Mar-26 07:40:19

Morning from a dull S Hants, set to last all day, it reflected my demeanour yesterday.
Today I’ll get out, even if it’s just our driveway to pace up and down, my river walk will be too busy for me on crutches.
I do hope that wound behaves baubles you could do without extra hospital treks.
I’ll be asking MrJ to put my Casablanca potatoes in soon Karma, they’re chitting nicely.
Hope the poorlies have a better day.

Good morning everyone from a cloudy, damp mid Essex. I think it will stay grey all day.
Yesterday was quiet, did a little ironing and cleaning of floors. Late afternoon my DDs and their families arrived and we all went out for an early evening meal. It was a really delicious meal, and the four granddaughters behaved very well, even the 3 year old.
Today I’ll do some batch cooking, trying to make the most of the half price electricity! I need to clear the ironing basket too.

fgt cry all you need to, it’s early days yet and you’re doing very well.

baubles I hope that your DH’s knee stops leaking soon, it’s a worry when wounds leak, but I think it’s fairly common. Hopefully the visit to A&E will have solved the problem.

Thinking as ever of all those who are struggling at the moment.

Have the best Sunday you can everyone, Happy Birthday wishes to all who are celebrating!

Marzipan22 Sun 08-Mar-26 07:53:21

madeleine my best rugby memory was when Cornwall won at Twickenham in 1991. Our local Marine Band paraded the ground and the non-Cornish were bemused to see a troupe of men in Cornish kilts making a dreadful racket on a motley assortment of home-made drums. The drive home was spectacular, with the main route a convoy of cars and buses with Cornish scarves attached to aerials and windows. 🤣

Grandmabatty Sun 08-Mar-26 07:55:38

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 1° and dry again. Cloudier than yesterday. Melanie I never sleep well when the boys stay over. My sympathy. Madeleine safe journey home. Llfl I'm thinking of buying a small ice cream maker. You have tempted me.
Yesterday went well. I was in and out of aldi fairly sharply. Bed stripped and whites washed and dried. Then housework nearly completed. In the afternoon, I put out the spring/easter decorations apart from the egg shaped ones. The boys can do that on Monday. I know it's early but the nice weather recently has spurred me on. I had a lovely salad and quiche for dinner too with plenty for tonight and tomorrow.
Today I might go to the garden centre to buy that brush i need. Then I will do some garden maintenance. Dsil is coming after football to heave the bottle bin out for tomorrow. Stupidly I kept filling it up and it's too heavy for me to lift. Dd will probably not visit. She has dgs1 to take to football academy this morning. So a quiet day for me which suits me fine. Have a good day all.

baubles I hope your dh can get his knee sorted soon.

Gelisajams Sun 08-Mar-26 08:02:49

Good morning from a cloudy calm Morecambe Bay where it is forecast to just reach double figures later.
I’m contemplating which church service to attend - the all age one or a confirmation service. DH will take Crazy dog on his own.
I shall get some gardening done this afternoon. My poor garden has been sadly neglected since getting Crazy dog but I intend getting it back to its former glory this year. It’s not very big and some of the bushes have started to take over more than their fair of space so they have been dug out over the winter leaving patches for some new plants. I bought a pack of mixed colour roses to go in but I am not sure which is the pink and which is the yellow as 2 of the 5 don’t have a colour tab on them. Getting it wrong will mess up my colour theme!
Take care everyone.

Good morning all from a dull Black country where we have had rain overnight.
Our new neighbours arrived yesterday evening at around 11.30pm and unloaded a van so I've had a disturbed sleep seems a strange time to be moving in🤔.
baubles I hope your DHs wound starts to dry up and he has no further problems.
Roast beef for dinner and will start another book.
Enjoy your Sunday everyone whatever your plans and may you all find a little bit of ☀️.

A late Good Morning from Malta where it’s cloudy with a high of 18°C.

Yesterday I got a lot of cleaning done before the cat Winston was dropped off by my son and his girlfriend who were off to Bulgaria in search of a flat. They are moving there to live by the beginning of April. I shall miss them but hope to visit once they are settled.

Shortly after the cat arrived so did the boys who were their usual adorable selves. They kept me busy all day, I enjoy them so much, it’s a lovely age and they are happy little souls.

After they left Winston did what he’s never done before - he miaowed non-stop until the evening. I don’t know what his problem was but he eventually curled up on my lap and stayed there while I watched the tennis which finished at around 3am.

I didn’t dare move so slept on the sofa until 5 then went to bed and only woke up because my friend phoned me worried that I hadn’t answered her text yesterday. I hadn’t noticed it as my phone was on silent.

Hence I’m discombobulated, tired and not at all sure what I’m doing. I declined meeting for coffee as I didn’t feel up to leaping out of bed and getting ready.

karma I have stove envy! How lovely and cosy yours looks.

I’m going to read all your posts now. Hope you all have a good Sunday.🤗

Good morning all from a damp North Leicestershire. It's a bit chilly too.

We have DGS3 and DGD1 coming for lunch. They invited themselves and he will drive. It's scary how quickly DGS3 has grown up. He is doing a Degree Apprenticeship with a decent salary, has a pension and his own car. His sister is still the floaty girl she always was.

Have the best day possible everyone.

brook2704 Sun 08-Mar-26 08:12:09

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a lovely sunny start to the day
Yesterday I enjoyed pottering about in the garden for a few hours, it was good to see so many things starting to grow. Then I was out last night at a country music event in town, a really good night with lots of dancing too. Today I’m hoping to catch up with DD2 at sometime and get back out in the garden again
Hoping your DHs knee is much better soon Baubles
Good steady progress Jax well done
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Gelisajams when my MiL died our friends bought us a rose named after her Irene's delight, it should have been pink but when it flowered it was yellow which happened to be her favourite rose colour.
