Just popped back no Ashcombe or Marydoll ?
Thank you so much for all the birthday wishes and 💐. I’m awaiting the arrival of DGS2 to ‘help’ me open my cards. X
Good morning from Sheffield
Happy birthday Georgesgran.
Grandmattie I hope you feel better soon.
We are off into Sheffield city Centre today. They have built a pop-up planetarium in the centre so we’ve got tickets to see that.
Our friends are here from Birmingham. They’re coming with us and then we shall go to Turtle Bay for tea so a very enjoyable day today and the sun is shining.
Best wishes to all , take care.
Happy birthday 🥳 georgesgran
Good morning everyone from sunny Lancashire.
It was quieter last night, we slept better. So nice waking up to blue skies and birdsong. MrB and I have had a lovely walk around the Dock, just enjoying the fresh air. It takes very little to make me happy and this morning I am very happy.
Happy birthday Georgesgran.
As always, thinking of those with troubles in their lives.
Wishing you a good day whatever you’re doing. 🌹
Happy birthday Georgesgran🥳🎂🍾🥂
Happy birthday georgesgran. 🎂🎈. Hope there’s some sunshine for you to enjoy.
Yes, Susan I’ve called back in to see if Roses has posted. How disappointing for you having your appointment cancelled 💐.
Good morning from Shropshire.A heavy frost overnight but sunny now.
I had a phone call yesterday to cancel my cardiologist appointment for tomorrow.I felt gloomy all day as I have waited seven months for the appointment. At 4.30 I had another call rebooking me in in two weeks 🙏🏻I had told the girls I couldn’t see them tomorrow and arranged for my brother to visit mum so a quiet weekend for us.
Today will be admin and laundry 😴We have a busy week ahead so hopefully get ahead of things so the week will be less stressful.
I am sorry you are unwell grandMattie and hope you feel better very soon.Hoping Roses is ok🙏🏻
I echo your words WhiteSwan.I too think you are pretty amazing FGT.
Wishing all a good day 🦩🌻
Good morning from my bit of South Lanarkshire, very cold but blue sky so that makes a difference.
Glad to see the back of this week, three different hospital appointments, I feel every bit of my age! I think the worst bit is feeling so tired. I suppose it is logical if bits of you aren’t working properly the whole ‘engine’ is under strain.
A nice lunch to look forward to tomorrow for combined birthday and mother’s day so definitely have to give myself a shake!
Your holiday sounds really good BlueSaphire, I’ve enjoyed your photographs, and yours Marzipan.
Pantglas, you make me smile!
baubles your poor husband has been through the mill this time, I hope the ‘boiled ham’ cools down soon😊
Happy birthday Georgesgran and good wishes to everyone feeling under par.
That’s lovely that you will be able to wear your DH’s ring FGT and your book group pals sound like they will be a good support, that’s good too.
Wishing everyone a nice weekend.x
Good morning everyone from a bright East coast. It’s a clear blue sky.
Today we are looking after the DGDs DH is taking GD1 to Jujitsu and I’m taking GD2 to her swimming lesson. They will stay for lunch and then later we’ll take them both to GD2s belated birthday party. DD has hired a church hall with an indoor bouncy castle for her. She can get it all ready with the food etc in peace while we have the girls. When all the party goers have gone we have the hall for an extra couple of hours so that the two families can have a takeaway and a drink together. I’ll pick up some daffodils with GD2 so they can give them to their mummy tomorrow. Their daddy works away for months on end but may order her flowers on their behalf.
We had a nice video chat with friends last night but our best friend had to shoot off due to 111 calling and she had to take her DH into A&E. He is really struggling now with his lung cancer. I’ve just messaged her. I expect he’s still in as it was late when they got to A&E though he was taken through quickly. So worrying.
Happy birthday to Georgesgran and good wishes to everyone celebrating. 🎉
Sorry you are feeling poorly Grandmattie💐
Enjoy your sister’s visit Mick
FGT you are amazing and an inspiration as you navigate a ‘new life’ without your darling man but still with such positivity ♥️
Hope there is a moment of joy for everyone today. 🌼
Good morning from a sunny W Kent
A walk into town this morning and a quiet rest of the day. My hairdressing appointment yesterday didn’t go too well. I just hope my hairdresser will be back soon, it is very flat.
Happy birthday Georgesgran
Hope you feel better soon gM this year’s viruses seem to take a bit of getting over
Best wishes
Good morning from a sunny Suffolk although there are signs of frost on parts of the grass which the sun hasn’t yet reached.
Sorry to read of some being unwell ,hope a return to better health is just round the corner and those celebrating have a lovely day.
Nothing much planned for today apart from a visit to the monthly country market in our nearest town. There isn’t a market during January and February so I imagine it will be very busy especially since it’s such a lovely morning.
Hope all have a little sunshine today.
Good morning from a sunny but chilly Black Country, where we obviously had frost overnight.
Had a major clear out of clothes yesterday and now have 2 bags full to donate to charity shop!
Then Hairdresser for a dry cut. Just a trim and tidy up really.
Main plan today is to sort out clothes to pack for our trip to Fuerteventura.
Happy Birthday Georgesgran
Hoping you feel a lot better today gM with some rest and relaxation.
FGT enjoy your time with your precious DGD.
Many happy returns of the day to you Georgesgran! 🎂
And sorry to hear you’re out of sorts grandMattie I do hope some rest will restore you back to good health with an appetite soon. Your holiday in Spain sounds wonderful BlueSapphire sightseeing and sunshine ~ what’s not to like! Enjoy Netflix and the crossword harrigran sometimes it’s the simple relaxing pleasures that bring contentment in life.
Good morning and it’s bright and sunny here in Essex.
I’ll pop up to town and take some bags to the charity shop. I’m trying to get rid of old books that haven’t been looked at for years, making space for things to bring back from our cottage. Clearing two houses and condensing into one is tricky..
what do we really need to keep! Our children won’t want anything so we may as well get rid.,
Have a lovely weekend with your sister Mick.
I hope you soon begin to feel better GM. Not like you to buckle under.
Enjoy the day, whatever you’re doing. 🌱
Good Morning all from a lovely, sunny central south coast. There is frost on the roofs though, so very chilly. The sun will soon get rid of that I am sure.
Sorry you are feeling so grim grandMattie. Sounds as if you will need to slow down and rest until your "battery" recharges. Hope you can manage to find something to tickle the taste buds and help it do so. Soup?
I share your fretting about the cost of delivered flowers Corner. I received some yesterday from Ecuador-bound DD and they are disappointing and a bit meagre and past their best. Would actually prefer a bunch of fresh tulips but of course appreciate the kind thought behind them.
Plan is to try and sort my wardrobe out today. There are many things in there that definitely need to go and I must make the effort and just do it, with ruthless efficiency. Well, the spirit is willing!
As always, thoughts are of our strugglers with hopes of some ease and comfort today.
A bright, dry and chilly morning here in Co Durham.
Had lunch with my friend yesterday, we’re trying to make it a regular outing.
A very happy birthday, Georgesgran🥂🎂😢🎈
Hope you feel better soon, gMattie 💐
No plans for today.
Good morning from bright and frosty South Lanarkshire.
Yesterday morning’s snow was washed away by heavy rain by mid afternoon, thank goodness.
My young friend and I had a great catch up immediately after she had done the school run which was a little later than planned as the school had put out a message saying there would be a delayed start due to staff having difficulties with the road conditions. The message went out so late though that many children were already on their way.
The orthopaedic doctor was happy with DH’s wound, his knee is very red and swollen though, DD helpfully said it looks like a gammon joint.
Doctor thinks it’s an allergic reaction to the dressings.
My hair is now collar length, much shorter than I’ve worn it in many years. I’m not sure how I’ll manage styling it as it’s thick and unruly, I will consult YouTube.
I’m off out mid morning for a coffee with a friend, she’s picking me up.
Nice to have a visit from your sister Mick.
gM hope you feel better soon.
Happy birthday to you Georgesgran.
Wishing everyone a good day.
Good morning from a drizzly but bright Cornwall. I collected Gisèle Pelicot's book from the library first thing yesterday and carried it with me all day, reading it wherever I stopped, and finished it by midnight. Will return it to the library today so the next person on the reserved list can borrow it. A difficult and graphic read, obviously, but very well written and inspiringly translated.
My eldest son flew to Germany yesterday and the plane tipped up as they were disembarking in Berlin. Apparently they should have been directed to two exits and the weight of everyone leaving through one door destabilised the plane. As usual he was unfazed. He and a friend are doing a recce of something to do with WW2. Meanwhile my Mother's Day card and present are in the post apparently.
I went to a Science Fair at my grandchildren's school in the afternoon and saw some wonderful constructions the children had made. The photo is of my grandson's paper-arrow shooter propelled by water. He was confidently demonstrating it to a small crowd. 😁
Today I'll jaunt somewhere but no idea where yet but I feel St Ives calling, as usual, especially as I now have an annual pass to the Tate. 😍
Good morning all from a sunny Black country where we had frost overnight.
Quiet day ahead then over to friends this evening.
grandMattie sorry you are unwell glad you are being kind to yourself and taking a rest.
Mick enjoy your time with your sister.
Happy birthday Georgesgran 🎂🎉💐
Will catch up with everybody's happenings later usual full English is calling.
Have good day everyone whatever your plans ☀️.
Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s damp but is sunny. Alexa says 10°C later with possible showers.
I have L’il Miss joining me after breakfast while the Boy Wonder is taken by his dad to play a football match. It’s a joy having her with me who can be sad with a delightful 9 year old for company? We will play up here awhile then mooch around the shops (I need to pick up a yoga mat from Argos in Sainsbury’s as I plan to join a class on Wednesday morning - get me!) pop into the library and have drinks in Starbucks as she likes a cake pop and a strawberry fizz.
No other plans but I did wake delighted when I remembered the £800 I received from cashing in my gold jewellery yesterday! Enough for a holiday I’m thinking later in the year … maybe. 😊
Good morning. Dry and the wind seems to have gone here in N. Bucks.
Happy Birthday Georgesgran.
A local food shop for us this morning and then DH will go to collect his Mum .I shall walk down to town and meet them for lunch.
Thoughts with those who are feeling under par and a good day wished for everyone.
Happy Birthday georgesgran 🥂🧁
Good morning all from a very cold but brightish North Leicestershire.
We are going to an art gallery this morning to look at some work by a friend. We may have brunch on the way.
Have the best day possible everyone.
