Jnr reached 37 today and I gave birth at the age of 37, making me 74. Happy Birthday to my lovely son.

Redcar disgusting as it sounds, if you spit on the bloodstains your own natural enzymes will dissolve the stain.
🤞

Ladyleftfield How was the programme? I have my first video call next week!

Good morning everyone from sunny Lancashire.

MrB and I have been to Lytham for some fresh seaside air. It was very windy which adds an extra dimension to using the triwalker. I missed posting yesterday as I had a GP appointment.

We have treated ourselves to delicious pork pies from a local maker for lunch, probably not a healthy choice but they are an occasional indulgence!

As always, thinking of those with troubles in their lives.

Wishing you a good day whatever you’re doing.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day to those who celebrate it ☘️

Good morning from Sunnyside sandhills northwest coast.
My heavy cold is moving off, but I’m still not feeling great. DDs stomach bug has improved, but between the two of us, we are not in the best shape.

DS and DGD are coming over later for us all to go out for a meal to celebrate my upcoming birthday, so we are hoping to be fit enough to make it. I have a zoom meeting with my financial advisor this morning and then on to physio at the hospital for my bad neck and shoulder.
Thoughts to all🌺

H draws pictures like that glammagran but does draw lovely pictures of sea creatures too😂

Yes, he still has allergies 😥

glammagran Tue 17-Mar-26 09:18:08

Good morning from a sunnyish Wiltshire.

Yesterday was school pickup - we just missed the rain. They were much better this week with fewer incursions into each others’s territory.

Susan I remember when DS1 was 7 and the film Jaws was everywhere. At school he drew a picture of sharks with the sea full of dismembered limbs with lots of blood. He grew up to be a really lovely man fortunately. Does H still have food allergies?

Take care Redcar and keep an eye on your cut. It must have been a hell of a knock.

Your photos from Spain have been great BlueSapphire. In 2022 we stopped at Cadiz with Saga and visited Jerez and was charmed by the whole region.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning from Durham.

Plenty to keep me busy today. The bathroom needs a good clean. It will sparkle by the time I finish.

GD1 will appear later after school to be fed and watered before her gym sessions. We're at school for GD2 this afternoon with our dancing shoes as we're all ceilidh dancing apparently. DH thinks he's just going to watch, he's in for a surprise!

Have the best day you can everyone.

GrannySomerset Tue 17-Mar-26 08:53:19

Glorious morning here only marred by the prospect of the dentist removing a back tooth where the thirty year old crown has not prevented decay. Not looking forward one bit but must be brave. This is when I miss DH and his loving kindness. Ah well, tomorrow will be a better day.

Good morning from a dry windy Co Armagh, I hope it stays dry till I get to Mass and back
I’m waiting for a call from a mechanic who is to fix the problem with the ventilation system in the loft , it is droning so loudly that I thought it was a refrigerator lorry parked outside !
Have a lovely Patrick’s Day and pray that he turns up the warm side of the stone ☘️

Stilllearning Tue 17-Mar-26 08:40:49

Morning all from DD4’s where I’ve concluded my birthday feasts, a really delicious afternoon tea from a really good local deli. We then watched I Swear which was very good indeed.

Dd will take me home this morning and thoroughly wash and clean out her car in my driveway in preparation for taking three friends up to Oban for one of their 50th birthday celebrations.

A bit wild and windy here but no rain so far for which we are truly grateful.

Happy St Patrick’s Day ☘️ to everyone, as the generations pass of course, it isn’t the huge occasion here that it once was with so many wearing shamrock sent from relatives ‘back home’and a day off from Lenten observances🥳!

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Tue 17-Mar-26 08:37:33

Good gracious this is a very busy thread this morning (not mourning - must be predictive text there Mick I think) as 42 posts already! I shall have to read later as I’m only just up with my TIB. Some of you will doubtless have done half a dat’s work already ….
#lazygran

Anyway, ‘top of the morning to ye’ (see what I did there on St Patrick’s Day?) to everyone from south Manchester where it’s dry, sunny and 15°C is forecast. Good - because I’m having my hair cut and highlights done late morning. Nice to be able to walk both ways without the wind and rain. 2 hours plus in the salon so I shall take my Kindle.

Thinking of all with worries. Been there, done that and my heart really goes out to anyone suffering right now. You can’t buy peace of mind, it’s very precious. x

Usedtobeblonde Tue 17-Mar-26 08:31:51

Good morning from Stockport.
A few memories revived reading today’s thread.
I love Blythe Spirit and can only think of Margaret Rutherford as Madame Arcati she was perfect for the part.
Gingster I can imagine your mixed feelings on the sale of you much loved cottage, we only had a humble static caravan in North Wales but it was a refuge for times when life got in the way and they really did occasionally.
We had to leave when my H’s dementia stated to affect him and I missed it so much so can imagine how you feel.
St Patrick’s day also brings back memories of a member of our extended family who hailed from County Mayo and who celebrated too well leaving his family wondering how he would be!!
Also yesterday was Dentist day here too and I also got a clean bill of health after he decided to do x-rays of my back teeth to check the very old fillings in a couple but pronounced then “stable”. Have a good day everyone.

GrannyIvy Tue 17-Mar-26 08:19:54

Good morning from Cambridgeshire. It looks to be cloudy and windy again today.

DH has big treatment planned at the dentist so I will go walking this morning and then school pick up later. We will start making some Easter cards and decorate the little Easter tree. They have been a bit overtired and grumpy after school recently and DGD2 (aged 11) is glued to her phone if she gets the chance so wish me luck 😂

Wishing everyone a peaceful day 🌸🌷

ginny Tue 17-Mar-26 08:10:19

Good morning , breezy again in N. Bucks.
Busy day for me. An on line art class, continuing from yesterday. I have to be at DD3s at 11 to let someone in.
Lunch out with DH , a browse round a few shops and then we are going to watch the film Mother’s Pride.
This evening is choir but probably the last meeting of this particular branch.
Our WI handed out the new membership forms at our last meeting . It will be interesting to see how many sign them and how the discussion goes.
Without saying my personal thoughts on the matter , I am actually quite suprised that so many are up in arms about it.
Wishing all a good day with a smile along the way.

Happy st.Patrick’s day 🍀🍀🍀

Susan56 Tue 17-Mar-26 08:05:03

Good morning from Shropshire.A dry and sunny day forecast.

A lovely day with DD2 and family yesterday. She is thankfully much better.DGS1 was on good form. He’s always happy to see us and was full of chat last night.

Today’s plans are cancelled as DD1 and DGD are both struggling with their asthma this morning😥also H’s consultant is leaving and phoned yesterday to ask to see him today before he leaves.Such a shame as he has been so good.

Bellasnana, H was mad on sharks as a toddler, well still is.His knowledge was amazing and when he started school the teacher and headteacher said they hadn’t realised how many different types of shark there were.Their theme at school this term is dinosaurs and he is really enjoying learning all the names now.

I really hope Marydoll is feeling better and we hear from her today🙏🏻Hoping your wound is healing well Redcar.

Grandmabatty, lovely memories but a poignant day today💐

Wishing everyone the best day possible 🦩🌻

Good morning all and a happy St Patrick's day. ☘️
🌞 is up

My friend arrived last night so we had a nice meal and good blether. She has things to do in Edinburgh today while I must prepare for the estate agent coming tomorrow to help get my house sold.

The Brazilian helper called off at the last minute. A mixed blessing.

Have wonderful holidays all of you who are travelling.

Any photos of your garden Dragonfly?

Wishing everyone a happy day.

EkwaNimitee Tue 17-Mar-26 07:57:37

Good morning Mick and everyone from currently sunny Carlisle. Will it last?!
Yesterday's chilly morning turned rainy after lunch and thus it was the rest of the day so no gardening.
I went out early to town to collect a prescription I'd been informed was ready. A waste of my time, it was only partly fulfilled, most wasn't ready so I'll have to go in again later this week.

Today, a bit of bathroom cleaning, maybe a walk after lunch plus a phone call to finalise a holiday plus yet more tedious admin.

Hope your day is more interesting than mine! Best wishes to you all.

luluaugust Tue 17-Mar-26 07:53:18

Good morning from a grey W Kent. A quiet day today although I may have to go to the supermarket at some point
DGD2 took herself back to Canterbury yesterday for her precautionary antibiotic tablet. She is now back home for the Easter break.
Best wishes to all

Liberty Tue 17-Mar-26 07:51:57

Good morning from a sunny Durham where our hotel overlooks the river and opposite the University Business school. So far quiet on the towpath with just the odd dog Walker.

The forecast for the week is good with no rain( hopefully). About to go for breakfast and then a trip to Raby castle .We plan a visit to the Cathedral, one of my favourites in the country, this afternoon and perhaps catch Evensong.

Hope all have a day with some sunshine in it.

Grandmabatty Tue 17-Mar-26 07:50:42

I had forgotten it was St Patrick's Day. A happy one to all the Irish grans. This was the day mum and dad got engaged. Up till he died, he bought her yellow roses. After he died, I took her a bouquet of yellow roses and she enjoyed remembering. This will be the first year I don't buy any.

Gagagran Tue 17-Mar-26 07:42:59

Good Morning all from the central south coast. We have a cloudy sky but with the promise of some sun today and it's milder. Looking forward to the sunshine.

A busy day yesterday starting with sewing on of buttons on DH's shirt, ironing and going early to the dentist for my 6 month check up. Fortunately all was well and she gave them a good scrape and polish so feeling very smooth now!

My dear friend came late morning, as planned. She moved to the east coast to be near her daughter last September, having lived there for many years before moving here to look after her old Mum. Her husband died shortly after their move - he had a long standing terminal illness and wanted her to be near their daughter to cope after his death. It has worked out as he wished.

She was President of the local WI when we first moved here and I followed her in that role. Unfortunately, that WI had their last meeting on Friday and has now closed. We enjoyed a good reminisce about our times in the role. I fear National WI have lost touch with members and there are likely to be more closures or break away groups.

Nice end to the day with a lovely chat on the phone with my DS and DGD as they were about to go to the pub for his birthday dinner. DDil of course, was going too but was getting ready - always a long job I was told - so I was the lucky recipient of a call as they waited!

Most unusual to have such a busy Monday and I will catch up today as my to do list has unticked items to attend to.

Kind thoughts, as ever, to all our strugglers and hope today is easier with some comfort and a smile or two.

Sar53 Tue 17-Mar-26 07:42:34

Good morning everyone from a very grey and overcast day on the Essex coast.
This morning DH will drop me off in town for a dental appointment and I will get the train home.
Club admin awaits when I return.
S went to visit Stafford University on Saturday, she wants to be a children's nurse, and loved it.
We are all hoping that she will be well enough to follow her dream.
Have a great day everyone, best wishes to all xx

Good morning from a brightening Leicestershire.

Yesterday my gardener came and turned my garden into a picture!
I spent most of the day lying on the bed as that is the only way I am not in pain.
Our friends are coming here for coffee this morning as I cannot yet sit in a cafe. It is all very frustrating!

Wishing every one the best day possible.
