Good morning/afternoon from a sunny Peterborough where I am currently sitting in the hairdressers having colour and cut.

I had an early browse around M & S but nothing really jumped out at me today. Went into Hobbycraft and bought some Easter craft bits for the DGC to do. Will call back in M & S for food bits before heading home.

Sad to read of health issues and other annoying things reported on the thread today. Hope everyone has the best day possible and all will be well. Thinking of those not posting as well 🌸

Good morning all from a bright, chilly west midlands. A strange day today, so I'm a bit discombobulated!
I've got 2 men in my attic, trying to mend the water pump. One of them is DH, who fitted it last week. So I think that's probably the cause of the problem, as he never, ever reads instruction manuals! Bodger is his middle name, amongst others! Mine will be wiffy before too long! 🙃

GrandmaC47 Wed 18-Mar-26 11:38:17

I’m late!! Had no internet connection or 4 or 5 G since 7.pp am so I’ve yet to read the posts. Hope all is well with everyone.

How awful for you Ashcombe!

Annapops Wed 18-Mar-26 11:04:42

Good morning from sunny Durham.

You certainly have chosen the best time to visit Liberty. You will never cover Beamish in one day, a reason to return perhaps. It is amazing. Does your trip include Ushaw Historic House? A hidden gem just outside the city.

So sorry to hear about your car Ash. I hope things are sorted soon.

Today DH is cleaning gutters and facias. I have my heart in my mouth when I see him up ladders so I'm keeping well out of the way.

Yesterday's caeilh dancing was terrific. I was pleased DH decided to go as GS3 asked him to dance! GD2 had the steps down to perfection and happily escorted me.

Wishing all a peaceful day.

Good morning from Sunnyside sandhills northwest coast.
Appointment with consultant yesterday re my neck and shoulder. He was very good, spent quite a lot of time looking into it and I am having an MRI scan.

Drove home in the sunshine through countryside with classic FM on the car radio and lovely to see all the daffodils etc.
In the evening to a new restaurant in the next village with DD, DS and DGD, who had a three hour journey to be here, for a pre birthday meal and opened a few presents, even though the day itself is mot for over a week. Then a late night. The cold is swiftly retreating thank goodness.

Everyone still here and I have an opera co rehearsal tonight.
Thoughts to all with troubles of any kind.

They are wonderful LadyLFL. We came across the Orton shop after we’d been for a picnic on Shap Fell. I seldom eat chocolate or sweet things but these are irresistible smile

GillyMo Wed 18-Mar-26 10:47:02

A beautifully sunny morning here in Kent. Just popped in to send best wishes to those who are experiencing troubling times.

I've seen a yellow butterfly and a huge bee in my garden this morning.

Good morning everyone from sunny Lancashire.

No walk this morning, MrB has gone out for a motorbike ride and should be back around lunchtime. I’m awaiting delivery of my new shoes and some Easter goodies from Kennedy’s.

As always, thinking of those with troubles in their lives.

Wishing you a good day whatever you’re doing.

Blossoming - it was you who introduced me to Kennedy’s delights!

Just back from dentist. Filling done free of charge as it was “under guarantee”! One small advantage of private medicine.

WhiteSwan63 Wed 18-Mar-26 08:24:07

Good morning from a beautiful east coast and a cuppa will be enjoyed outside today.

I’ll go for a walk this morning in the sunshine.
I prepared a large plastic box of duck food yesterday ready for the Easter hols. It’s all gluten free so safe for grandson to throw. They still avoid ours and head for someone throwing bread though.

Just had a video chat with DS in China discussing DDILs brother getting married while we are there which has been sprung on us and what is a suitable amount of money to put in a red envelope as a gift for them. I’m excited to spend time with DDIls parents as they are beautiful people. Her mum and I are the same age and she can only say hello in English and me the same in Chinese but we get on so well. Lots of smiling and hugging involved.

Ash what a shock for you seeing your car like that.

Wishing all a lovely day with moments of joy🌼

harrigran Wed 18-Mar-26 08:17:45

Good morning from an overcast but dry NE.
Yesterday we had wall to wall sunshine but the wind was chilling.
Nothing planned for today so will just tidy round and watch some TV.
Sorry to see the state of your car Ashcombe, let's hope you are compensated quickly.
Thoughts are with poorly people.

monk08 Wed 18-Mar-26 08:04:54

Good morning all from a sunny Black country.
Ash what a shock good to hear no one hurt but so inconvenient for you.
Toddlers this morning then I'm hoping to persuade DH to use another of our vouchers and eat out.
NannyJan have a good holiday.
Hope all goes well for those with medical appointments, best wishes to anyone celebrating.
Have the best day you can and may you all find a little bit of ☀️

Good morning Mick and everyone from grey Carlisle. Looks like rain....again.
My cooking has got in a rut so I thought to start a project of going through my cookbooks and trying out a new recipe from one week by week. I hauled out my trusty old Good Housekeeping book and found a suitable recipe to try shortly. I was surprised by how many main meals I no longer fancy, much preferring my modern books. Funny how dishes go out of fashion.
When I first started family cooking, I was keen to try all food preparation techniques. I cleaned, gutted and filleted fish, skinned, paunched and jointed rabbits, made all sorts of pastry etc etc. Not now! I quite like an M&S ready meal....
Anyway, whilst skimming the cook book, I was reminded of my blackcurrants residing in the freezer so I got them out and now the juice is waiting to be turned into pots of jelly, today's job.
First I must make a return trip to town to get the remainder of my prescription and ask why the pills already collected are short of what were requested...I hope I don't have to go back and quibble with the surgery.
It will be back to a bit of cleaning and then to finalise a holiday booking.

Ash, what a horrible shock, sad to lose a reliable car and cope with the inevitable upheaval especially possibly postponing your French trip. Luckily, no one was hurt.

Wishing you all a pleasant day.

Good morning from a cloudy Durham although sun and warmth are forecast. Yesterday was a glorious day when we visited Raby castle. An interesting tour with an excellent guide who was anpmusing, informative and didn’t give too much detail.

We sat outside the cafe for lunch and I wished I’d brought my sun screen for my face. Today we are off to the Beamish museum,a place I’ve wanted to visit for ages.

So sorry,Ash to read about the sad ending of your beloved car. I hope the insurance company are helpful and efficient in sorting it out for you.

Also hope,Gingster your DH’s appt goes off smoothly at the hospital and you get an idea of the way forward.

Best wishes to all for a good day.

Jaxjacky Wed 18-Mar-26 07:59:24

Morning from a sunny S Hants.
What a dreadful shock Ashcombe and damned inconvenient, I do hope it’s sorted swiftly.
Getting some help is a good idea Roses even for a short while, can MrR help at all?
Good luck Gingster
We’re off out today for coffee, I’ve been looking online for places that have chairs with arms, so I can get up, many don’t, I’m still being very careful.
Have a pleasant day if you possibly can.

Good morning, a beautiful sunny one here in N. Bucks and we are forecast a good day.
We enjoyed the film Mother’s Pride yesterday, a good sit back and enjoy, feel good one.
It’s DD1s 48th birtday today . We saw her on Sunday and she is away at the moment so we will celebrate Sunday week.
I shall walk down to town in an hour or so to my manicure appointment then home to do a couple of household jobs.
Craft club this afternoon and a painting to finish this evening.
Thinking of all with problems to solve and hoping poorlies will find some relief. A good day wished for everyone.

Grandmabatty Wed 18-Mar-26 07:44:33

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 7° and dry and sunny. Ash that's rotten for you. They must have completely lost control of their car to drive along the pavement. Lucky no one was hurt. Roses, if you can afford it, definitely get someone in to help.
Mattie I enjoy hearing about your baking. It all sounds delicious.
Yesterday started off badly as dgs2 was acting up for dd. He's been very challenging recently for his parents. By the time he reached my house, he was fine. I fed them both and got them to school then came home and emptied and loaded the dishwasher, did a washing and made chilli in the slow cooker. Later, I tidied up the mayhem from the boys' toys and hoovered. Dgs2 has taken an interest in the train set so it was all over the floor and had to be lifted. Afterwards I watched tv for a little while before an early night.
Although I was up quite a lot in the night, I only needed one lot of painkillers and got back to sleep easily. Today I'll do some work in the school library. I might go to buy some board to start a painting and go to a different garage to look at cars. Have a good day all.

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 18-Mar-26 07:40:00

Morning all from what looks like a sunny West Oxfordshire.

What a pain Ash! We do get attached to our cars. A few years ago a lady at WI backed into my car while it was parked! She gave up driving not long afterwards. She had the start of dementia, sadly.

OH visited his bees yesterday. He said they were doing well and looked like they were bringing lots of pollen (?) back to the hives.

I visited my recently bereaved friend after lunch together with another friend. She had rewritten her will and asked us to witness her signature.

Today is the U3A lunch group. This is the third lunch OH has organised so hope all goes well.

It is the WI AGM tonight. As suggested by GrandM I ‘turned over the page’ of the revised application form! So, we must sign at the bottom of page 1 and then turn over to read what we have just signed. A strange trick, or what?

Have a good day. Spring seems to have arrived properly.

luluaugust Wed 18-Mar-26 07:37:14

Good morning from a sunny W Kent where I shall go to my U3A art group this morning and see a friend later.
Ash what a shock! Hope things move swiftly for you.
Thinking of all those with medical appointments today.
Best wishes

Gagagran Wed 18-Mar-26 07:33:56

Good Morning all from a lovely sunny morning, here on the central south coast.

What a shock Ash and the only positive is that no one was injured. Hope you can find a good replacement asap.. Your DH will be here to assist you soon, which is fortuitous.

Our cleaners are due in 30 minutes and DH has an appointment at another hearing aid clinic this morning so peace will be restored later on. I need to go through the music for choir this evening. We are doing a particularly difficult piece which definitely needs "homework".

I am thrilled with the big pot of mixed spring bulbs I planted which was a bargain buy from Tesco, last autumn. The tulips are about to open up and vie with all the smaller flowers which are already showing off! DD said it's called a lasagne pot with different layers planted. Our garden daffs are over now but winter flowering pansies are back in full and look so pretty in the sunshine. Need to plan the next planting for summer flowers.

Thinking as ever of all our strugglers with worries, sadness or health problems and hope the day brings some comfort and ease.

brook2704 Wed 18-Mar-26 07:33:07

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a lovely sunny start to the day
Hope your dads ok Pantglas, you do look after him so well
Oh Ash how awful and none of it your fault but thank goodness no one was injured. I hope you’re able to get something sorted out for your trip to France soon
I’ll be busy most of today with the gym, coffee and walk and line dancing this evening, but all things that I enjoy doing. Maybe time for a little gardening later
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Redcar Wed 18-Mar-26 07:30:08

Good morning everyone from a lovely sunny mid Essex. Yesterday we had a sunny afternoon after a cloudy morning. The washing is on, hoping to get it dry outside today, providing I can reach the washing line. I think I’ve lost a bit more height so it may be a struggle.
ash what a shock for you to see your poor car smashed up. A real inconvenience for you and I hope that you can get a replacement soon.
pantglas I hope that your father is ok and that the blood tests don’t show anything serious.

gingster I hope that your DH’s hospital appointment goes well today and that the prognosis is not as bad as feared.

roses I hope that you can soon get help regarding your breathlessness.

Thinking of all who are in pain or have worries and hope you find some relief today.

Have the best day possible everyone, enjoy the sunshine if you have it,
