Good morning from a sunny chilly Suffolk which is better than the day forecast. The tour of the underground streets in Norwich yesterday was very interesting and the guide excellent.

We have booked a tour with the same company to visit Carrow House which was the family home of the Coleman family of mustard fame. The friend who told me about this company said this tour was the best she had ever done and her daughter has chosen that venue for her wedding next year. The property and grounds are now owned by a charity and offer office space to rent as well as other socially based activities.

Apart from a walk with the dog after breakfast, the most exciting things happening today are a delivery of a rug from John Lewis and our weekly Waitrose order.

Hope today is a good one for all especially for those struggling with worries and/ or illness.

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 5°C, with rain promised.

I have nothing to report, my aches, pains and fatigue are limiting, what I can do at the moment.
Yesterday afternoon was mainly spent on parish admin, my head was birling.
Posters send images, posters etc, for the website, which are not compatible,
I then have to find ways to change the format and it is not always easy. My pleas to send me the images as jpegs, fall on deaf ears.
Every day us a schoolday.

I am so committed to fundraising, and supporting DIL, I have little free time.
However, I crave some time for myself.
What I would love more, is a holiday. I am so envious, when I read of posters going away.
DH has so many excuses, the main one being that, I am too unwell and what if I become worse!

Roses, I donated much my stash to the school, Guides etc. I do not want my family having to clear my very full craft room, when the time comes, and I become incapacitated. There is still more to get rid of.
Unfortunately, I had to buy printer cardstock yesterday, having foolishly given it all away. 🤣
My dilemma is, should I use up my own ink or put the card through the parish photocopier and probably jam it? 😉

I wish you all a pleasant Saturday.

Morning Mick, morning All. A chilly, breezy sunny start to our corner of Somerset.

A gentle day for us today. Just some bedding to process and whatever falls out of the fridge for our meal. I’m not feeling wonderful, I know it’s simply because pacing went out of the window when our friends were here. Worth it for sure. Had to sit down in town yesterday when energy just disappeared. Coffee and cake fixed it!

Today and tomorrow will replenish the energy ready for travel North to a funeral on Monday where we’ll say goodbye to our granddaughters grandma. Thankfully we only need to drive for half an hour each way as our younger son has offered to meet us and drive the major distance.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning from a bright and sunny Black Country.

Yesterday was a day of unpacking, washing, and housework. Two loads almost dry now. Then finished my book I started on Kindle on the plane. Kindle keeps freezing, and I have to keep re-starting it, so looks like it is on it's way out.

Booked train tickets for our trip to London in May to see Paddington. With my discount card it was just under £30 return to Euston from Birmingham for the two of us!

No real plans today, except ring DD and then DS for a chat, sweep and tidy the patio as there is still debris from roofing work done before we went away. Grass is now extremely long but too wet to cut now.

Wishing you all the best day possible

Good morning from a sunny and bright North Surrey. Could still be chilly though. I had to retrieve my thermal leggings from my Winter Drawer to wear under jeans this week and they may be worn today.
Madeleine45 can you approach a local Scouts group for gardening help if your women's groups aren't successful? Or a Gardening/Allotment Club? I agree with you often you dont need a morning's work but just an hour on a small patch. I have 3 small patches which need digging over, but not all in one morning. I find bending, squatting and kneeling tricky now, but can kneel for long enough to plant up one newly dug over patch.

Good morning from the skies over the Irish Sea.

It was a bitter cold, sleety morning on the way to the airport, I envied those people flying off to warmer climes.

My sister is meeting us at the airport and my brother at the hotel then we will make our way to my aunt’s house. I’m looking forward to catching up with everyone.

Will read the thread later.

Wishing you all the best day possible.

Good morning from a sunny (for now) S E Essex

We went to one of our favourite Indian Restaurants last night, when we came out the road had turned into a river!! It’s at the bottom of a hill and the rain was rather heavy.

Local shops first thing, I need fresh flowers, my Mother’s Day bouquets have finally gone over .

This afternoon I shall feed the washing machine, drink lattes and read my kindle.

(((Hugs))) to all in need 🙋‍♀️

Good morning all from a bright and sunny North Leicestershire.

Today we have the pleasure of taking Dgd3 (Persie) out for lunch. She is 13 today.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Morning all from South Lanarkshire where it looks as though it’s been raining but is nice and bright at the moment.

Yesterday I went with a friend for our fortnightly visit to the third member of our long time little group who, sadly, has been pretty ill since last summer. To our delight she was up and dressed and we had the picnic lunch we bring (picked up at the local very good deli!) at the kitchen table. Her son who was ‘on rota’ had set the table beautifully and she was on good form so a really nice afternoon.

I’ve been slightly under the weather this week so I’ve cancelled plans to go with my theatre group to a play in Glasgow this afternoon and am having an ‘at home’ weekend so a little bit of tidying, reading and taxi up the hill to mass (I hate paying the money being of the generation when taxis were very much the exception rather than the ‘just get a taxi mum!) one😊

Wishing everyone a good weekend.

Good morning from a chilly and very windy NE yet again.

Yesterday morning I retrieved the house phone from it's base station and noticed there was a missed call from my friend in Cumbria. I rang my friend's number and it was engaged for ages, rang later and her son answered and told me that my friend had died suddenly and he had found her.
This is the friend that sent me an M & S afternoon tea hamper last week with a message saying " thanks for everything ", did she have a premonition ?

DS and GD2 will probably come this afternoon, I always look forward to the visit as GD is a ray of sunshine and her piano playing raises the spirit.
Have a good weekend.

Good morning from sunny but chilly Leicestershire.

Yesterday we went up to the golf club to meet up with all the past members. I think I was the youngest there and all they had to talk about were their various ailments. I found it very depressing.

A chat with DD in the evening cheered me up. Apparently you can now ask for people’s war records. She has sent a request for my mother’s as she wants to write a book about them.
My father in law already has a book about him as he was very important during the war.

Today I am not sure what we will do.
Hoping everyone has the best day possible.

Good morning from a very windy Durham. It feels very cold outdoors. I’m pleased I’ve decided to have an at home weekend, although I’m getting over my cold, I don’t have the energy to do much. Thankfully, both DGSs seem busy and won’t miss me.

Best wishes to all. X

harrigran Sat 28-Mar-26 08:50:21

Goodness me kitty, Persie is 13, I can remember the day she was born. You told us you got the phone call and jumped in the car and went to look after your GS while they went to the hospital.

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton, but showers are expected around lunchtime, so hope I can avoid them on my visit to the shops.

Back to dance classes yesterday after a two month break, (due to knee injury and holidays). I managed three classes, but found myself at a disadvantage as lots of new stuff had been learnt while I was away. Several new complicated steps, especially in the tap class, and I found myself having to stumble through the Charleston!
Had a restful afternoon, catching up with the newspaper, and only rice to cook and curry to reheat for my dinner.

A visit to the shops later this morning, needing something for dinner tonight, possibly a nice steak. I also need Easter cards, and a new baby card, as one of my neighbours has just had a little boy. I may also browse the clothes in Sainsbury's and Next....

Wishing all a pleasant Saturday.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Sat 28-Mar-26 08:55:42

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it looks chilly out but the sun is shining. Alexa says only 8°C today, brr!

I have L’il Miss coming over later this morning. We will enjoy our mooch in the square, taking our time and buying some pocket money things. Then a coffee for me in Starbucks, juice for my darling girl then up here to play awhile.

This evening I’m invited to join them all for a meal at the Lebanese restaurant round the corner. It’s been there ages but Himself never really fancied it so we didn’t go - but the family all love it and I’m looking forward to trying it.

hollysteers Sat 28-Mar-26 08:57:34

Good morning from a windy Sunnyside sandhills, northwest coast.
I was better pleased with my efforts at the art group yesterday, producing some water colour Easter cards. Some of the group painted eggs.

After a shop and fill up with petrol, I enjoyed a panini in town and returned for a concert dress trying on session for opera concert tonight. I’ve grown out of a couple, but with a sequin jacket, have found a nice solution. Now to put everything in a folder and see where I’m going!

DD sent photos of her day at Champneys, don’t fancy a spa day myself, but it looked nice.
I’m on neighbour’s cat feeding duty. A very shy, sweet cat, unlike her sibling, with me, who is cheekier.

Hope your innards have calmed down Mick, thoughts to Roses and all🌺

You have a good memory, Harrigran. That's exactly how it happened and they were back before we knew it.

harrigran sorry to read about your friend it’s always a shock flowers

glammagran Sat 28-Mar-26 09:22:56

Good morning to everyone.

DD3 came round after school to show us their new family vehicle yesterday. It’s a rather large VW 7 seater Tayron (seats in the boot area fold away). There was a tablet type device built in on the dash and no handbrake or gears. It all looked very futuristic but I thought what happens if a software failure occurs. Our VW is 14 years old and has still done less than 100,000 miles. It is an automatic as is the new Tayron. When DH was still working he got taxis and trains everywhere and I mostly only did 30 miles or less on a journey. As it never goes wrong we haven’t been incentivised to change it. But as it’s a sports model Passat I’m finding it very hard to get in and out of with my dodgy hip. DH would never buy an EV.

Today we are meeting my sister and her DH for Sunday Lunch at Shefford Woodlands, not far from the M4. They are staying there overnight on their way to Cornwall on Monday morning. They live in East Sussex so a long journey for them.

I’m glad you both had a good meet-up Ash and Marzipan. I thought it might be you but then thought not as you are some way down in Cornwall. I’d forgotten you are having a break in Devon.

I’m pleased you’ve sorted some help out Roses. Your sister sounded quite rude.

Have a good weekend all.
