I'd love to have a cat.......but there is a problem
Yesterday we had a massive march believed to be 500.000 people in London against the Far Right and not a word on here, vey little on the news and way way down towards the bottom on the BBC news page
I ve put this in chat as I m not looking for hard politics or arguments but I m proud of the people marching against the rise of the far right, against the division and hatred that is currently being spewed out by Farage and friends
Well done London and all the people who travelled to give out a message of togetherness, of kindness, of inclusion.

Where did Bluebell get the 500,000 number from??
Deliberately exaggerated, dreamed up, typo, AI fake news.
Pointless 10 pages.

Oh I just plucked any old number out the air David I thought it was a nice rounded number don’t you ?
I read the write ups BBC, Guardian etc etc .of course if you bothered to read some links on here you d see it too.
The organisers say 500,000 the police say lower no one can count them so believe what you will They are all agreed it was one of the biggest marches to have happened
So no I didn’t dream it up, I didn’t use AI I used a link which at least two people posted on here which you could have read
But of course anything to downgrade it and make it not true if it doesn’t fit the Far Right agenda
Is david now far right? It is quite hard to keep up.
And just to answer your last point why on earth are you posting on a pointless thread 🤣🤣🤣

I have no idea Galaxy what Davids political stance is ,nor to I care, I am annoyed at him suggesting I made figures up when he couldn’t be bothered to check the links or even look it up for himself
Quite different then from the article in the Daily Mail I was reading. I am sure the woman who wrote the article was not lying!
You asked me to comment, which I did politely and with honesty. So please don't compare me to the Daily Mail. Thanks

Arguing about numbers has the whiff of no real argument from those opposing the views of the marchers.

People really still believe the Daily Mail uncritically?
I read the piece in the Guardian online, they reported that the organisers of the march were saying that the numbers were 500,000.
The police had said the numbers were closer to 50,000 but there is no exact way to estimate the attendees.
Is the Guardian an acceptable source?
Are disputing the Metropolitan Police’s numbers?
Oops sorry, The Guardian had printed the Police’s figures also.

But why are you arguing about numbers GrannyGravy13? Have you nothing to say about what the march was for? Isn't this standard deflection?

I am not arguing about numbers DaisyAnneReturns
I was politely pointing out the difference of approximately 450,000 attendees from the OP and the police numbers.
As for the march, if it achieves anything hats off to those who attended.
As a casual observer, there were so many groups marching I think the message was lost and somewhat fuzzy on what it wanted to achieve.

I just don't believe anything until it's confirmed, half a million is massive and obviously grossly exaggerate, unsurprisingly the Guardian printed it. Those who are far left probably would label me right wing, there are plenty of far left views on GN.

I really hope you are not insinuating that I am pro the current POTUS?
You couldn’t be further away from the truth if you tried…

Only "lefties" Meandrogrog? Let's see what the analysis of the tone of each comment is.
Person 1 "Quite different then from the article in the Daily Mail I was reading. I am sure the woman who wrote the article was not lying!
Tone: Defensive, mildly sarcastic, and subtly confrontational
Person 2 "You asked me to comment, which I did politely and with honesty. So please don't compare me to the Daily Mail. Thanks"
Tone: Controlled but firm, slightly defensive, with restrained irritation
Person 3 "Why are lefties so aggressive?"
Tone: Generalizing, provocative, and dismissive. This kind of phrasing tends to inflame rather than resolve conflict.
I'm not sure those you choose to call "lefties" are the issue here.

I would expect no less from you DAR.
Comments can be made to seem very different from how they are intended.
Your post is a case in point of leftie aggression, I am sad to say.
'Pointless ten pages' only in your still contributing opinion David?
Reports in from the USA claiming 8 million participants.
Am I the only one on this board who marched on Saturday?
I don’t know how many people were there either, ahead of me or behind me. I doubt anybody does.
Over a million people commute into London to work every day. Over 3 million journeys are made on the Tube every day.
Perhaps Network Rail, TfL and Victoria Coach station could help you out on how many more journeys were made compared to an average Saturday.
But why does it matter? That hundreds of organisations have joined Together Alliance and thousands marched together to make a stand again the far right is all anyone needs to know.
Hated and fear grow when good people do nothing.
I would expect no less from you DAR.

Those are not my words Meandrogrog (Also, I do not sit on the left politically - it's always worth making sure your insults are founded on the truth).
I simply asked AI to analyse the tone of each post. Anyone can do it. It may be worth you doing it before you post. I often do - simply because it is so easy for others to take offence when none us given.
That's intriguing Daisy. Our posts may be independently analysed for bias and tone?

Much obliged.
