That explains it. I thought I had lost the plot, when I saw my post under your moniker.
You are correct, I don't even think, I am firing even on one cylinder.😂

Thank you 💕

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Thu 02-Apr-26 09:18:18

Aw Marydoll you’re obviously not firing on all cylinders this morning as you’ve clicked on last Monday’s thread here

I was wondering whether to C&P for you?
Actually I can’t see any harm in so doing for you - so I shall.

Marydoll Thu 02-Apr-26 08:24:38

Good morning all from Glasgow, where it is -2°C.

Yesterday was not a great day, I didn't even go to the school pick for Dollie, I felt really out of sorts and knew, I wouldn't be able to manage the hill.

It didn't help, that I received an unsigned, one line email, from the parishioner, on whom I spent hours accommodating on Monday. She told me could no longer read at our Good Friday service.
I was raging at her rudeness, no reason, no apologies for wasting my time, leaving us in the lurch and epecially, harassing me with emails, especially late at night.
Also someone needs to teach her the etiquette of sending an email. Hers are downright rude.

Today, we have Babydoll, We will do our usual visit, to the café, library, pharmacy (where she will charm the assistants) and CAB. We are having a Golf Day out fundraiser, but the sign up sheet has gone AWOL. No-one knows, where it has gone, so we don't know, who has signed up. The organiser is leaving a replacement in the CAB offices for me to pick up.

GM, the vicar should be looking after you and organising transport! Our older parishioners, who are helpers, are rarely left to walk.

Mass tonight, I am sacristan, so it will be a long day.

I wish you all a pleasant day, loves to Roses.

A breezy bright good morning from Co Armagh
Put a wash on , walked up to Mass , got milk that I forgot yesterday , bought hot cross buns ,, just having one with y coffee
Washing is just hung out and is whipping about in the wind
Hoping today is bright physically and mentally

Good morning from a sunny W Kent. Thank you for the kind wishes for DH’s birthday yesterday. We had a nice meal with the family and then went to DD2’s for cake. DH promptly fell asleep but the youngsters all caught up with each other which I really like.
Today the cleaner has just arrived and not sure about the rest of the day.

Good morning all. Lovely breezy but nice day in the north east. Hubby working half day so I’ll bake and read my favourite things. I’m reading the new Erica James novel can’t put it down. Feels odd leading up to Easter and me being retired as I used to be so busy in class at this time. I call it the new norm. Will also be doing some gardening late afternoon. Hope you are all well.

A late good morning from a bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton. Should be at yoga right now, but did not sleep well, and decided to give it a miss. Woke from disturbed sleep at 6am for the bathroom, went back to bed and dozed on and off till 9 o'clock.

Just put some washing on, and now sitting with a mug of tea and a ginger biscuit.

No other plans for the day. Yesterday was similar; caught up with the Sunday papers and recorded programmes on TV. I have a bit of admin to do on my laptop later.

Wishing all a pleasant Monday.

Ash, I have my bus pass although we have about two buses a day🙄if we drive/walk into town there is more choice.

White swan, hope things settle down soon🙏🏻💐

I’m afraid I chicken out GG13 and just pay for them!

GrannyGravy13 Mon 30-Mar-26 09:25:52

Just noticed my post hadn’t posted 🤷‍♀️

Gym first thing, then I am accompanying DD and her boy for the most dreaded chopping trip school shoes for 11 and 6 he olds 🙀🙀🙀

On the bright side it is sunny but boy is it chilly.

Will catch up with your news later 🙋‍♀️

harrigran Mon 30-Mar-26 09:09:05

Good morning from a sunny but very windy NE yet again. I am having to wear earplugs every night to be able to sleep.
Quiet day yesterday, watched several films and just relaxed.
DD rang late afternoon and we chatted for an hour. She is travelling to the UK on Wednesday so I will see her next weekend.
Have a good day.

Good morning from a wet but sunny Leicestershire.

Today we have hearing appointments this morning preceded by coffee in town. This afternoon an aerial man is coming to try and improve our to picture. It was a difficult job to find someone local as all the national ones use local numbers!

Some photos from Saturday

Supernana1 Mon 30-Mar-26 08:35:23

Marydoll I'm from Dublin and I've visited Kilmainham jail, and I know what you mean about it being a very atmospheric place. I don't think any of my family were guests there, but I was caught by your mention of the Black and Tans. My mother remembered the Black and Tans and how feared they were.

Good morning from East Lothian where the sun has been shining blindingly but cloud is building up.

We had an entertaining day on Saturday, driving DGS round to get photos he needs for his course (his teacher wants to send them off for printing before Easter). We went to the harbour at North Berwick where he climbed down on to the rocks with his camera and tripod while we watched, heart in mouth, from above. I expected the tripod to blow into the sea at any minute. At our next vantage point I had to hold down the tripod while DGS changed his filters and tried different settings. At our final stopping point we were able to have a very good coffee at the takeaway van beside the lovely Drift cafe which some Scottish GNrs may know. Meanwhile at home, DGS’s twin brother was avoiding doing his English and geography coursework - DD thinks he made a bad decision in taking these advanced highers as he is very dyslexic and the support from the school has just not been there.

Yesterday we walked to church (about a mile away) with the wind blowing us there and then hibernated for the rest of the day. I listened to radio 4 lying in bed all afternoon. Our living room seating here is very basic so I am on a mission this week to see if I can find some reasonable condition second hand chairs or a small sofa.

Thoughts with all suffering pain, anxiety or grieving 🥀.

Good morning everyone from the east coast and it’s a bright morning.

My one hour and 15 minute walk yesterday ended up with me freezing and soaking as the weather deteriorated half way into my walk.
I’ll go to the gym this morning and this afternoon I have a dress to pick up from Next. DH is making a chicken and ham fried rice for tea. Things are still a little frosty here in the White Swan nest with DH but he’ll get over his moody I just leave him to it.

Thoughts to you Usedtobeblonde 💐
Wishing a day with moments of joy 🌼

Good morning from sunny Suffolk where it should be less chilly than the last few days. I hope to get out into the garden and at least dead head those daffodils which are past their best.

I bought a couple of lovely looking Sicilian lemons last week and DH has suggested I make a lemon drizzle cake so I just might. I plan to make the simnel cake tomorrow.

When the children were at home I baked regularly but it is a rare event these days unless some of them are visiting.

Hope all have a good day.

EkwaNimitee Mon 30-Mar-26 08:11:58

Good morning Mick and everyone from grey and damp-looking Carlisle. It will probably rain again before long....

I went out for an early, bracing walk yesterday. There was a dearth of wildlife, they probably knew what was coming and were keeping their heads down somewhere. To my surprise, I spotted a pair of martins or swallows whizzing about, who would likely regret coming back this early as the bad weather started kicking in as I arrived home.
There followed a day of heavy rain and strong, cold winds where I feared for my fence. I just tried to ignore it and got on with minor tidying jobs and admin plus reading the papers. The latter aren't cheering anyone up at the moment, are they?!

Today, bathroom cleaning, vacuuming and yet another phone call to the surgery re vital pills. I was lying awake for ages las night worrying about them running out, it takes ages to fulfil the order these days.
After lunch, it's into town to the opticians to have my new glasses and prescription checked out, I'm still getting minor headaches and balance problems.

Good luck with the buses Gingster, I expect trips out will just take longer but just look for the positives such as getting fitter because you walk more!

Have a good day if you can everyone.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Mon 30-Mar-26 08:10:03

Good morning all from south Manchester where it’s damp and chilly. I’m having brunch today in Chorlton with a friend so a new place for me. I’m just enjoying TiB however I have to make my own now 😢 it still seems strange.

Early afternoon I have chair yoga which I enjoy and this evening I’m spending an hour out so with neighbours. However I shall drink tea not wine. It’s too easy upping your social life again to find alcohol can feature on every occasion.

Marydoll Mon 30-Mar-26 07:55:26

Baubles, I enjoyed the Dublin bust tour, but was badly affected, when we visited the jail. I felt very emotional.
My ancesters were probably guests. My great uncle was hiding in the fields, when shot by the Black and Tans.

Good morning.I will have to come back to read all the news as I am a bit behind this morning
DH is off for a half day of golf.
I am having a craft day with 4 and 10 year old DGs. We will probably pop up to the nursery to buy some seeds to plant as well. No doubt lunch at the cafe there will be requested.
Wishing all a good day.

Good morning all, it's 4°C here in Glasgow. I have nothing much to report.

I spent yesterday collating the Easter Triduum rota for everyone from Clergy, Sacristans, readers etc. It is a thankless task.
At 10pm last night, I received an email from a parishioner, complaining her friend was not on the rota. Her friend had not volunteered, so why would she be on the rota? There are so many busybodies in our parish, always complaining, but contributing zilch.
I wasn't feeling too well (the dreaded cough is back and I am breathless) , so I'm afraid, she got short shrift for interfering, in something that was none of her business.

Today, my usual Monday morning routine at church, clearing up after a very busy weekend. I plan to take it easy, I'm feeling pretty rubbish.
However, I have run out of midget gems and will stop off at Lidl on the way home.
I find they help my extremely dry mouth, caused by my Sjogrens Syndrome. I have no voice at the moment. It is my fault DH cannot hear me, nothing to do with his deafness. 🤣

Ginster, what a shock to hear from the DVLA. I hope you manage the buses. DH and I have started using them more, because parking here is now nigh on impossible. I quite enjoy it, for people here are very friendly.

Roses and UTBB 💐

Have a good day folks and Happy pension day, Susan.

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s cold but dry with some sunshine
Good luck with the buses Gingster!
I had a really enjoyable line dancing weekend away, lots of fun and laughter with a great crowd, a lovely hotel and good food and drink. Today it’s back to normal, a quick volunteering catch up session this morning then food shopping this afternoon
Uttb ❤️
Hoping your neck pain eases a bit roses and you can sleep a bit better tonight
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning Mick and all GN's on a dry still but very chilly morning in North Yorkshire. I am full of aches and pains this morning and am sitting in my dressing gown waiting for the pain killers to make a bit of an effort before I can venture into the shower. The change to summer time has not helped as my body has not changed its timings and so all yesterday felt out of kilter.

I had quite a variety of plans for yesterday but most of them came to nothing. I had had a rubbish night and hoped that I would feel a bit better in the day, but didnt. I felt tired and out of sorts and couldnt get warm , so did very little of planned jobs and then actually felt quite ill in the afternoon, so it was an odd day. I neither felt up to cooking nor up to eating a proper meal and so was picking bits and pieces all day which is not my usual way nor is it good for me.

The ironing never got a look in , and I did very little of anything, and didnt even feel up to a short walk. I did have some good music to listen to and later enjoyed the Bennet saga on tv and that was about it. Went to bed but couldnt get to sleep and so here I am somewhat cranky and creaky. Good job no one else here to have to put up with me today. I had thought last night of either going out to Harlow Carr or to see a friend, but the price of petrol is a big consideration at the moment. Anyway as I feel now , no contest I shall be staying at home! Ah well the best laid plans of mice and men.

I hope you have a good trip this morning Mick. The easter eggs dont sound very appealing to me! Usedtobeblonde, I know that feeling. It was our wedding anniversary on the 18th March, and of course I think of him often but the date reminds me of so many things besides the wedding. Our many different ways of celebrating our annivesaries etc., and the hard won even keel you had managed to get to without them disappears and it takes a time to get back to it. Karmalady, sounds as though it was a bit of a hassle day for you , hope today is a better day.

In fact I hope everyones day improves as it goes on and that we all settle down to the new timings of the day. It may be lighter but not warmer so far, so keep warm and enjoy what you can today
