Good morning from Bristol. It’s still dark.
Yesterday went ok; the Palm Sunday processing church was the usual, slightly chaotic affair, with the children waving actual palms, then non one really sure of which aisle to walk down…
The afternoon was quiet. I’m now sewing the edging on the quilt, it’s not as unattractive as DS told me it is - he is very candid!
Usual Monday, Tesco then whatever presents itself.
May the week bring only sunshine ☀️ into your lives.

I meant to recommend a programme on the Beeb called “the garden of 1000 bees” on catch up. It is absolutely gorgeous and very interesting to boot. Give it a try although a bit slow to start.

Good morning, it’s a damp hillside here in south Glos.
I didn’t sleep well, my neck is painful and I can’t get comfortable, grhhhh! It always plays up when I’m stressed, so I just have to get on with it. The buckwheat pillow helps a bit.
Today it’s housework, change the bed etc, hopefully it will be line dried 🤞🏻
Yesterday was very quiet, not that I mind, I did wash the dogs’ beds and the throws on the sofa and chairs. Tiddler’s getting a bath today, she’s looking grubby mainly because she loves mud and puddles 🙄. Bigger dog regards her with disdain as she ploughs through the mud.
Hope that the sun shines for you all today x

Good morning from Malta where we have another cloudy day forecast with a high of 20°C. Very strange weather for the time of year.

Had the boys yesterday, they were great company but I was exhausted after they left and I fell asleep on the sofa for a couple of hours then woke feeling awful.

The tennis started over an hour late last night due to rain in Miami. I watched the first set after which it was rained off again so I went to bed fairly sure Sinner would win.

I must get up as the boys will be here soon. I hope we can get out to the park today as the past few days have been cold and windy so not much fun to be out in, especially as DGS2 has such troubles with his chest if he gets ill.

Can’t believe we are already at the end of March, I wish time would slow down a bit.

Hoping you all have a good day.☀️

Good morning from Sheffield

I am going to my prayer group this morning. I haven’t been for a couple of weeks as I am a bit disillusioned with it. Hope it’s better this morning . It’s turning into morning coffee. I went to learn and pray.

I will work this afternoon and then a quiet evening

Take care everyone flowers

An early Good Morning from Stockport.
I have been awake since 3am unable to settle.
Today my H would have been 90 and although seven birthdays have gone by this one is playing on my mind.
I can’t stop thinking of all that has happened since he died.
We shall remember him tonight with a G&T, one of his favourites.
Now my mind must turn to practical things and find my small suitcase as I am going away for Easter.
Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning from a dark Durham, a cold, windy day is forecast.
After best part of a week isolating with a heavy cold, my body clock is all to hell, but I feel much better. So much so, that I’m meeting a friend for coffee as usual. DGSs have requested Smyth’s vouchers instead of big Easter eggs, so I’ll get those and should visit my rental house later. That will be enough for my first foray into the outside World!
It’s not surprising you’re not sleeping well Roses - stressful times.

Best wishes to all. X

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. It feels cold.
I cancelled my walk yesterday as the rain/hail was horizontal. Instead I began to prepare for the furniture removers coming today and was rescued by 3 strong potters who arrived at lunchtime bringing sandwiches. They told me to make tea and sit down while they finished clearing the bookcase. I obeyed and phoned or texted all my DC.

Then the 4 of us finished decorating the U3A pots and packed the kiln. I made some dinner plates.

Cinema in the evening. So a busy day.

This afternoon there will be another house viewing here.

I hope everyone has some joy today.

Susan56 Mon 30-Mar-26 06:28:55

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a rather gloomy South Yorkshire. Supposed to be dry today but I wouldn’t give odds at the moment. My sleep pattern is like a rollercoaster at the moment.

I didn’t do a lot yesterday except change my bed linen and make a batch of biscuits. DD and the menfolk dropped in for a visit in the early afternoon which was nice and when the rain stopped later I managed to get a walk in. I think today will be a suck it and see day, though I have to phone my energy company at some stage.

Have the best day you can, folks, and safe travels to those on the road.

Grandmabatty Mon 30-Mar-26 06:45:00

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 4° and dry at the moment. Utbb 💐 Happy pension day Susan!
Yesterday the weather was vile and driving conditions were atrocious, nevertheless this intrepid explorer set out for Stirling. I met up with ds for breakfast at a new Turkish restaurant he likes. We had a couple of hours of eating and chatting then I went home with lots to think about. I made a chicken curry for dinner which was nice and there's enough for tonight too.
Today I had a long lie because dsil has a hospital appointment and will drop off the boys at my house later. Then it will be breakfast and taking them to school/nursery. Once that's done, I'll make a pot of lentil soup in the slow cooker. A quiet day until I pick up the boys again. Have a good day all.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. It looks as if there’s a light frost. It certainly feels chilly as the heating doesn’t come on until after 7 am.

Our cleaner should be here this morning. I will do a Waitrose shop.

After lunch I may do sone Easter baking. I usually bake a Simnel cake and a rich chocolate cake,

OH nay visit his bees.

Have a good day everyone, especially those of you going through difficult times.

Good morning from a calm and bright Torbay.

Good to be having your pension, Susan56. No doubt you know that you are entitled to your bus pass now.

I shall surprise everyone by turning up at Move It Or Lose It today, having previously announced our plans to be in France by now. My beloved car is still in dock, awaiting the decision of the insurance company, following receipt of the report from the body shop locally.

Hope everyone has a good week. 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

Good morning from s somerset, some sun all day and should be dry but windy

Typical me, out of the blue I decided to start hardening the ceiling wood on the allotment shed and what a palaver, the strong awful smell and the liquid running down my arm, the dissolved black glove. sticking to my hand Then the cleaning up afterwards.

I did not have enough and I have had to order more to finish plus do an extra coat. Next time I will use a mini roller and I have ordered chemical resistant gloves and I will take a good mask with me. Luckily I had safety glasses on and a hat and my clothes were not splattered.

That was an impulsive moment, I went to brush out the shed and suddenly decided to go home and get the liquid. I spent a couple of hours cleaning myself and my clothes

Whatever, I did have a very good sleep, eight hours

Today, not planning anything, I did skirtings and washed the floor yesterday. RnR is in order today

Gingster Mon 30-Mar-26 07:17:18

Good morning and it’s grey and cold here in Essex.

Yesterday was good. Dd and DGD came for lunch and we walked up to town and met some friends. Visited the Flower Show and bought some bulbs, cake and marmalade.,. I’ve never seen so many varieties of Daffoldils. Really lovely.,
We all then went to the tea shop for refreshments and chat.
A nice afternoon.

Today is my first foray into public transport. I’m heading off to my Chimes group which is a bus ride away. Finding what no. bus and times and where bus stops are , will be an adventure.
Oh dear 😢. 😅.

Take care and enjoy the day as best you can.🌺

Ashcombe Mon 30-Mar-26 07:25:47

Gingster: I expect your local bus company will have a website to help you plan your journey. Sometimes they provide maps showing the location of bus stops, too. Good luck! 🚌

Redcar Mon 30-Mar-26 07:31:19

Good morning everyone from mid Essex where it’s bright and a little less cold at the moment.
I had a good day yesterday, DD1 and her DH collected me and we went for brunch with DD2 and her family in the nearest town. Then we all walked to the theatre where DD1’s girls were appearing in the junior version of We will Rock You, put on by the stage school they attend. It was great fun and a good time was had by all.
DD2 brought me home and I didn’t do much for the rest of the day.
Today I need to go to the garden centre to get a birthday present for a friend, and may venture into my garden to resume tidying it.

marzipan yesterday evening’s Countryfile featured St. Michael’s Mount, showing the devastation that Storm Gorecki? had caused on the island. It showed the clearing up operation going on and the difficulty caused to the residents by the fallen trees etc. I found it very interesting as we have visited the island many times.

roses sorry you had a bad night, take it easy today?

ash I hope you get some news of the insurance company’s decision on your car very soon.

I hope all those who are poorly or worried find some relief today.

Have the best day you can everyone.

kittylester Mon 30-Mar-26 07:35:43

Good morning all from a wet and chilly North Leicestershire.

Not a lot happening here today apart from going to the cinema this afternoon.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning from dry and cool Dublin.

The wind was fierce yesterday but the rain held off and we had a most pleasant afternoon wandering through the streets of Dublin. We popped into a pub for an hour to listen to traditional music and later had tea and scones in Bewleys. Dinner was in a Lebanese restaurant and was very tasty.

We may do the hop on and off bus today, flying back tonight.

Have a good day everyone.

Jaxjacky Mon 30-Mar-26 07:37:25

Morning from a dry S Hants, yesterday started dry then descended into rain all afternoon. MrJ dropped his car for its MOT today, my son gave him a lift back.
Voluntary phone today and bedding wash, I may sneak a quick lunchtime walk.
Roses you are understandably on edge, I hope you have a gentle day.
💐utbb
Good luck with the bus Gingster.

Good morning all from the Black countr.
DH has an appointment at the local hospital today for an echocardiogram, it is the the hospital I used to work at. I very much doubt I will meet anybody I know though my department was moved and staff redeployed within the hospital group.
We will call in at the carvery on the way back so no cooking yippee.

Enjoy your day folks whatever your plans ☀️

Gagagran Mon 30-Mar-26 07:40:42

Good Morning all from a still chilly central south coast. I seem to have adjusted to the clock change more quickly than usual and managed a decent sleep last night.

Had a nice catch up chat with DS yesterday and a whats app from a madly busy DD who was trying to catch up with all the usual chores after a long holiday and is back to work today. She promised a proper catch up when she has drawn breath.

Kind thoughts as always to all our GNs with struggles of any kind. May the day bring some relief, ease and comfort. sunshine

glammagran Mon 30-Mar-26 07:40:47

Good morning from a mixed bag Wiltshire.

Had a 3 hour lunch with my sister and her DH yesterday in West Berkshire. It was lovely to see them both but the roast dinners were average - I’ve had better. The wind was awful and it was drizzly so no local walks.

GS1 took part in a swimming relay competition in Winchester. He won his leg of the relay but his club came 4th overall.

Today is the start of the school holidays so we have GD3 and GS2 for the day. I wish I’d stop referring to DD2 as DD3 in posts - I only have 2 daughters.

I wish the weather would cheer up. Not looking very good for Easter.

Have a good Monday everyone.

Good morning Mick and all GN's on a dry still but very chilly morning in North Yorkshire. I am full of aches and pains this morning and am sitting in my dressing gown waiting for the pain killers to make a bit of an effort before I can venture into the shower. The change to summer time has not helped as my body has not changed its timings and so all yesterday felt out of kilter.

I had quite a variety of plans for yesterday but most of them came to nothing. I had had a rubbish night and hoped that I would feel a bit better in the day, but didnt. I felt tired and out of sorts and couldnt get warm , so did very little of planned jobs and then actually felt quite ill in the afternoon, so it was an odd day. I neither felt up to cooking nor up to eating a proper meal and so was picking bits and pieces all day which is not my usual way nor is it good for me.

The ironing never got a look in , and I did very little of anything, and didnt even feel up to a short walk. I did have some good music to listen to and later enjoyed the Bennet saga on tv and that was about it. Went to bed but couldnt get to sleep and so here I am somewhat cranky and creaky. Good job no one else here to have to put up with me today. I had thought last night of either going out to Harlow Carr or to see a friend, but the price of petrol is a big consideration at the moment. Anyway as I feel now , no contest I shall be staying at home! Ah well the best laid plans of mice and men.

I hope you have a good trip this morning Mick. The easter eggs dont sound very appealing to me! Usedtobeblonde, I know that feeling. It was our wedding anniversary on the 18th March, and of course I think of him often but the date reminds me of so many things besides the wedding. Our many different ways of celebrating our annivesaries etc., and the hard won even keel you had managed to get to without them disappears and it takes a time to get back to it. Karmalady, sounds as though it was a bit of a hassle day for you , hope today is a better day.

In fact I hope everyones day improves as it goes on and that we all settle down to the new timings of the day. It may be lighter but not warmer so far, so keep warm and enjoy what you can today
