Morning from a cloudy S Hants. So much patience gM.
Thoughts with you today Roses x
End of a large chapter Susan it must feel odd.
Yesterday the voluntary phone was averagely busy, but finding drivers was very hard work, holidays and other commitments.
Today we’re meeting a friend out for coffee, I need to get some steps in.
I hope pantglas is ok.

Good morning all from a cloudy North Leicestershire.

We thoroughly enjoyed the film, Mother's Pride, yesterday. It was a lovely, gentle story.

Today, DH is doing a hospital drive and I am going to choir and then a group of us go to a cafe in the village for coffee and cake.

Have the very best day possibke, everyone.

Gagagran Tue 31-Mar-26 07:43:33

Good Morning all from the central south coast. The temperature is still low but warming up and we may see 16 degrees later.

Roses you will be virtually accompanied to your appointment today with large numbers of supportive Grans. Keep positive whatever the outcome and we will be there on the journey, wherever it takes you. flowers

The hearing aid my DH got 2 weeks ago has been a huge success. I recommend anyone else with a "deaf but in denial" DH to do whatever it takes, whether carrot or stick, to get him to an audiologist. He keeps commenting on what he can hear now that he could not before but I think the best thing is that he not only listens and hears me but also has the TV sound turned down from blasting out!

Some lucky person will win your colourful quilt GM and admires your creative skills as much as I do. I still treasure the tote bag you made for me with my Yorkshire white rose on it. Hope the FAB cafe goes well tomorrow and you have enough baking to satisfy the hordes!

May today bring some ease and comfort to all with pain, struggles and worries of any kind. sunshine

Good morning from a dry NE after heavy overnight rain.
My hairdresser is coming this morning for my cut and blow dry.
DS is coming this afternoon after a half day's work but has to have an online meeting so will need to spend some time in the study before he takes me shopping.
SIL is travelling to the UK today and DD travelling tomorrow, her work commitments didn't allow them to travel together.

Thinking of you today Roses 💐

Good morning all, it's 10°C here in Glasgow.

Another awful night, but wanted to pop in to send my best wishes to Roses, for what will be a very challenging day. I do hope you have someone to hold your hand. 💐

Enjoy your day, folks.

Greyduster Tue 31-Mar-26 07:56:15

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where it is dry and the sun is making an effort to join the party.

Yesterday I felt ill from the get-go and the weather didn’t help. I managed to do some ironing, and little gardening between showers and then fell asleep in a chair, only waking when GS rang to find for a chat.

I had a surprise phone call from an old friend. He’s not in good health but we always find a lot to laugh about. We were neighbours in Holland when he and DH were both serving soldiers and have been friends since - almost 48 years now. It lifted my spirits to hear from him. He’s the only person who still insists on ringing me on my landline and the reason I still have a landline! As soon as it rings I know who it is going to be.

Not sure what I will do today. Laundry, gardening probably and then a phone call scheduled with another friend from way back when. It will be a long one!

I am another who watched “The Garden of a Thousand Bees”. It was beautiful and mesmerising. I will never look at bees in the same way again. He is the same film maker who made “The Birds” - also on iPlayer - which was equally enthralling.

Roses💐💐.

Have the best day you can, folks.

Good morning from Cambridgeshire. Just popping in quickly to wish Roses all the very best for today. Lovely quilt GM Also thinking of Bellasnana and Susan. Sending best wishes also to all those worrying and struggling that I haven’t mentioned.

I need to be up early we are off to a Safari park with DD2 and the little ones. I am making the picnic for us all which may need to be eaten in DH new car, his face is frosty already 😳.

Hope the day goes well for everyone 🙏🌷

Good morning from a cloudy Black Country, where it is trying to rain.

Over to Mums today, mainly to pop to Lidl for her weekly shop, which is less now as I order Wiltshire Farm Foods for her lunches, which are put in microwave by the Carer who comes in 5 days a week at lunchtime. No visit from her Tuesdays or Wednesdays as myself or brother visit Tuesdays, and she goes to the Day Centre on Wednesdays, where apart from the activities she has a cooked 2 course lunch. Of course she can never remember what she did or what she ate by the time I call her around 5pm!

Also had a call from her Surgery last week, they are arranging her medication to be delivered each week in Blister packs. That will be one job less to think about, ordering and collecting. Really must ring them today to see when it starts.

You are so talented gM. I can just about sew a button on!

Thinking of you today Roses we are all here rooting for you flowers

Good morning everyone from an overcast Northampton, hoping it stays dry and that it is not as windy as yesterday. At least my washing dried outside.

An easy morning, an early lunch, then out to join my walking group; it must be.nearly two months since the last time, what with an injured knee, and then my holiday. I need to call in at my local Co-op on the way home for some new potatoes to go in the pea and ham soup I intend to make for dinner tonight.

Lovely quilt grandMattie.

Roses, thinking of you today.

Wishing all a pleasant day.

EkwaNimitee Tue 31-Mar-26 08:03:39

Good morning Mick and every one from grey Carlisle.

Yesterday morning was filled with ironing and admin, in the afternoon I had to go into town, first to pick up a prescription and then to visit the opticians to have my new glasses checked out. Apparently the glasses are fine so she re-adjusted them on my face. A visit to the GP re my vertigo was recommended...my head and ears still feel odd and my tinnitus is worse. I'll wait a bit, it's not bad enough to bother the doc with at the moment and I've no long train journeys in the offing.
Another success was avoiding going in Hotel Chocolat, I just looked in the door, it was busy. I did treat myself to hot chocolate and biscuits in Cafe Nero though!

Today, I'll kick off with a bout of bathroom and kitchen cleaning then hope to get out in the garden. Everything is bursting out in bud but I'm thinking the soil is too cold to sow peas. If not gardening, then a walk if the rain holds off. I want to be out doing things, not stuck inside!
Some baking is probable, probably some warming ginger parkin, I prefer mine to the shop bought which is too sweet for me and never gingery enough.

A lively quilt grandMattie, it's going to look great in someone's room.

Gagagran, you are right about DHs and hearing aids. Oh the bliss when my bullying and nagging got mine to get and use his!

And wishing you all a pleasant day.

Gingster Tue 31-Mar-26 08:06:21

Good morning all.

Yesterday went well with my bus ride to Chimes group. Our leader will be 80 this week so we had cake and instead of a gift we decided that we shall take her out for lunch after the Easter break.

Today I’ll clear clutter and do a bit in the garden.

After lunch I’ll walk up to town, where my friend will pick me up for Bridge. I don’t want anyone having to come through town as the traffic is so busy and can take ages.

I’m so grateful and blessed to have wonderful friends.

Bellasnanna don’t be too sad. Keep busy and know they are only a phone call away., 🫂.

*Roses we’re all with you today. 🤗🤝.

Lovely quilt Mattie 👍

A weight off your shoulders Susan 🙏

Hoping all struggling have the strength to cope with tricky times.,🌺

ginny Tue 31-Mar-26 08:09:48

Good morning from a dry dull N. Bucks. We had a lovely time making Easter crafts yesterday ( see pics.). The boys also made a fruit cake, 10 year old weighed the ingredients and 4 year old did the mixing. Later they proudly presented it to their Daddy. In the afternoon we visited a local garden nursery and purchased a pot and cornflower seeds to plant.
Today we just have the younger Grandson as his brother is off to rugby camp. It will be a little quieter.
So, a visit to a mill not far away and a fairy walk , although apparently we will be looking for gnomes and dinosaurs.
This evening I will be attending choir , which will be our last meeting. Very sad but several of us will be transferring to one led by the same MD in a nearby town.
Thinking especially of Roses today.
Wishing all a good day.

Liberty Tue 31-Mar-26 08:17:11

Good morning all from a dull Suffolk. I hope Roses that your hospital appointment goes as well as such things can and you have some clarity about the way forward.

I’m meeting a very dear friend for coffee this morning. I got a somewhat mysterious message for her yesterday suggesting I went to her house, about 15 mins away by car about an hour earlier than going to the venue we were to meet at an hour later.

She suggested we go to a new place she had discovered and she would reveal all today. She loves flying in light aircraft and has done so from the local heliport nearby. A request to reassure me that my feet would remain on the ground has been ignored! Hopefully that will be the case.

Hope today is a Godoy one for all.

Liberty Tue 31-Mar-26 08:17:47

Good day of course!

brook2704 Tue 31-Mar-26 08:18:12

Good morning everyone from Inverness, it looks grey and cloudy outside
Thinking of you today roses, gentle hugs ❤️
I completely understand your mixed emotions Susan, hoping you feel a bit more settled soon
I’m off to the gym for aerobics later then the usual coffee with a friend and a riverside walk back into town before getting the bus home. I’ve still not had much chance to potter in the garden, hopefully soon if the weather picks up
Your FAB cafe sounds such good fun gMattie, no wonder so many people turn up! Lovely quilt too
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

What a busy thread this has become! 40 posts when I logged on at 8am. So many early birds … 😊

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s damp out but not windy. Showers are forecast so I shall wear a scarf tucked into my hooded rainmac when I go out late morning.

I’m meeting a friend from up the road at the train station. We plan a day in Manchester. Train to Oxford Road station, find a coffee shop for a good catch up then wander over to Whitworth Art Gallery (my suggestion, my favourite) for a couple of hours before lunch somewhere nice with a glass of wine. Home around 5pm will suit us both nicely I think.

Now to read all your posts while I drink my TiB. x

Good morning from a grey and chilly S E Essex

Thinking of you RosesandLilac 🌼

When we sold our mums house, the exchange and completion was a sad day, so many memories (((hugs)))

Lovely quilt grandMattie

I am taking the 11yr old and The Imp to an indoor trampoline park late morning. DD has a few deliveries expected and these boys have so much energy…

Have a good day with your friend FGT2 🍷

Hope you get some respite from your aches and pains Marydoll 🌸

Good morning from the Essex coast where it is very grey looking.
My very best wishes for today Roses , we are all with you in spirit.
A phone call from the eldest of my 3 brothers to tell me he has been diagnosed with Prostate cancer. He is to have hormone treatment then radiotherapy.
My other brothers don't talk to him, long story, and I'm not sure whether to tell them or not. Family sagas !!!
DH is having his Cornea transplant tomorrow so lots going on here, no wonder I'm having trouble staying asleep.
The quilt is beautiful GM, very pretty.
Take care everyone and best wishes to all xx

Morning all,
Just reading the thread as I do most mornings but couldn’t pass by without sending Roses a virtual hug and a handhold if so required for the consultation today. x

Good morning from damp South Lanarkshire.

We got home late last night and I think I’m in recovery mode after walking so much over the last couple of days.

My poor DD had to leave home at 4.30 am for her morning flight to work after us not getting home till nearly midnight.
It was wonderful to see so many of my family in Dublin though so she thinks it was worth the effort.

My sister came home with me and will stay till Friday.

Thinking of you today Roses.

Have the best day possible everyone.
