I have taken the liberty to open a new kitchen.

Bubbles, friendship and support in abundance xxxxx

Baggs Tue 31-Mar-26 20:10:56

Thank you for keeping this going, GG13 and everyone. Soop is very poorly but knows she is in your thoughts.

Thank you grannygravy I hadn’t realised that the old kitchen had closed!
A day of changeable weather, drizzly this morning, then cloudy, then sunny with showers! Quite mild though, pleasant after yesterday’s cold wind.
I managed half an hour’s weeding at the end of the garden, slow progress, but at least it’s progress. Hope I can do more tomorrow.

jaxjacky, good you were able to sit outside today, to celebrate your win? Life is looking up for you at last!

Visited my dementia friend this afternoon, very quiet again.

Called in at DD2’s mil to deliver a birthday present, DD2 and family arrived soon after. Apparently DD2 will be working at my house tomorrow while her mil looks after the 8 year old and littlest. I feel guilty that she’s older than me, but so much more able and energetic. Quick tidy in the dining room to ensure there’s room for DD2 to work comfortably.

Enjoy the rest of your evening folks. I hope those in the quiet corner are warm and comfortable this evening.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 31-Mar-26 20:15:25

Baggs our dear founder friend soop is always in my thoughts when I read or post on her thread.

This safe space will always be soops kitchen

Please convey our love and thoughts 🌼🌼🌼

gillgran Tue 31-Mar-26 20:32:05

Lovely, thoughtful words GrannyGravy, just what I & so many of us feel.
Thank you for opening up this new kitchen, another aptly named one.

Many thanks Baggs for keeping us "in the loop".

Warmest thoughts for our dear soop & all her "kitcheners". x

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Tue 31-Mar-26 20:35:07

Perfectly put GG13 thank you for it. I too hope our dearest friend soop is comfortable with her devoted liegeman by her side. I feel so sad at hearing how very poorly she is now.

She has been a friend to many over the years, some of whom are no longer with us. This kitchen will always be ‘her place’ and the title of the thread shall always be a reminder of the special place this is.

You are in our hearts and minds this evening dear lady.
We have much to thank you for.

I remember with great fondness some photographs you posted a few years back, the ones sharing how you built your house together. You were both a good deal younger, fitter and full of excitement. Your love for one another shone through. ❤️💙

Jaxjacky Tue 31-Mar-26 20:47:09

soop is indeed in our thoughts, I often think of her gazing at their magnificent view so far away, thank you Baggs.
A thank you to you GG13 for your opening with just the right words.

Thank you Grannygravy and Baggs for the Kitchen and news of our lovely Soop.

I am with my very unwell Dh in a hospice. He fell in his room here at the weekend and broke his arm, which is an added complication to deal with.

brook2704 Tue 31-Mar-26 21:33:59

Thank you for opening the new kitchen GG

So sorry to hear Soop is so poorly, sending gentle hugs and thank you for the update Baggs. I hope you are doing ok too

Well done on your win Jax, after the awful time you’ve recently had with your hip you deserve a bit of good luck! Hope you can treat yourself to something special x

Jaxjacky Tue 31-Mar-26 21:41:32

Thank you for opening a new kitchen GG.
I am sorry to hear that soop is so poorly but thank you for letting us know Baggs. You and she are often in my thoughts.

Oh SueD I am so sorry for both you and your DH. Sending you both hugs.

Georgesgran Tue 31-Mar-26 21:53:06

Couldn’t pass without adding that I hope the Soops are warm and comfortable.
Such a difficult time SueD without this in the mix - thinking of you,

Ladyleftfieldlover Tue 31-Mar-26 21:53:28

Hello kitchen people. The bubbles mentioned would be very welcome!

Love to the soops and thanks to Baggs for keeping us up to date.

The main event today was Milo and Ripley’s annual visit to the Vet. They are nearly 16 (80 in human years) and doing pretty well. They’ve both lost a lot of weight and Milo is having trouble with his teeth. He’s booked in to have four out next week. The estimate for this is £400! We will pay this as we don’t yet have a maximum amount we would pay for medical expenses for them.

For a little more money we are having six windows and a door replaced in our conservatory. We had it built in 1995 and had a few windows replaced in 2017, so it’s not doing too badly.

Sleep 💤 tight everyone.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 31-Mar-26 21:57:34

Sending you (((hugs))) SueDonim I hope your DH is comfortable xx

cornergran Tue 31-Mar-26 22:17:40

Thank you for opening grannyg and thank you baggs for sharing news of soop. I’m saddened to hear she is so unwell and send much love and a gentle hug.

That’s worrying news sued, a hug on its way from here and a hope your husband is comfortable.

It’s been a strange, bitty, sometimes unsettling day here. I’m off to bed very soon so will wish you all a restful night.

Redcar Tue 31-Mar-26 22:30:41

sueD so sorry to hear that your DH is so unwell. Thinking of you and hoping that your DH is comfortable. flowers

Grandmabatty Tue 31-Mar-26 22:31:22

I'm glad to have found the new Soops kitchen. Thank you GG for starting it off. However I'm sad to hear Soop is so poorly. I have enjoyed reading her posts about her lovely family and friends and looking at the photos. Thank you Baggs for keeping us up to date. I'm also sad to hear about your dh Suedonim. I'll be thinking of you both.
I've had a very early night and just got up there to tidy the kitchen. Back to bed now. Take care all.

Charleygirl5 Tue 31-Mar-26 22:48:41

Thanks Baggs for the update. I hope soop is warm and comfortable and McSporran is getting sufficient help.

SueD so sorry to hear your latest news. Breaking an arm hasn't helped because of the pain and lack of use. Take care of yourself but I know that is difficult.

An early night for me. I am usually a late bird and early riser.

Usedtobeblonde Tue 31-Mar-26 23:25:04

Nice, but quite sad, new kitchen.
It is good of baggs to bring us news of soop and my best wishes go to both of them.
SueD I send my heartfelt thoughts to you and your DH.
A broken arm is the last thing he needs to cope with.
You know, I am sure, that we are with you at this worrying time.

TOYA.
