Bubbles, friendship and support in abundance xxxxx

So sorry to hear of the death of a lovely lady.

cornergran Thu 09-Apr-26 00:53:03

Of course you’re right gg133.

Sleep is elusive, no idea why as there was a lot of movement today when we visited a beautiful NT garden full of glowing tulips. Warm bordering hot in the sun. Some folk out in shorts, several steps too far for me.

Hope you’re sound asleep fgt. 💐

You’re getting there jax, not long now.

Good news the staples are out nannyt.

Night night everyone, sleep tight.

Nannytopsy Thu 09-Apr-26 03:40:53

I’m awake too Cornergran. Don’t know why other than the awful situation in the Middle East.

Hi Galen. Lovely to see you in soop's kitchen even though the circumstances are so sad. I hope you are well.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 09-Apr-26 08:00:35

Hello Galen 🙋‍♀️ good to see you posting, sorry it is in such sad circumstances, hope you are well 😘

Doodle Thu 09-Apr-26 08:35:04

Galen I too am pleased to see you posting. Soop was a dear friend to so many. Hope you’re doing ok

Galen Thu 09-Apr-26 09:07:07

I’ve been very ill with bilateral pneumonia taking 5 1/2 weeks in hospital to recover
I’m now housebound with very limited mobility. I try to keep occupied with reading and artistic projects.
Very boring I’m afraid.
Hope the rest of you are all doing okay.
I’ll try and pop in more often in the future.

kittylester Thu 09-Apr-26 10:17:19

Sorry to hear you have been unwell, Galen and about your incarceration!! I hope you are feeling better and up to calling in to the kitchen for a catch up sometimes. Do you still have your trusty helper - sorry I've forgotten his name.

I have been ill recently too - gall bladder removal (with ongoing issues) and i had a kidney removed. One tends to forget how long recovery takes as we age. Flipping nuisance if you ask me. 😀😀

What a lovely painting of Milo LLFL, dear Soop was such a talented artist.
Hope your ok Baggs.🌹

You’re doing so well Jax so pleased for you.

It’s been a much quieter week here, yesterday was my DIL’s birthday and we had lunch with them at a local pub on the Thames. The food was very average but nice to be out and sit in the sun.
Love to you all enjoy your day.

Charleygirl5 Thu 09-Apr-26 11:04:54

Galen lovely to hear from you again.

District Nurses refused to dress my leg wounds because I am apparently mobile. I can get out of bed, wash and dress myself and walk down the road but not far. I am dressing my large wounds at least twice a day, the minor problem is I can't see, but that doesn't come into the equation because I am mobile.

Great to see you posting again, Galen. Sorry you’ve been so unwell and hope you are making good progress.
Are you still wearing your pearls?? 😄
Wasn’t your gardener called Gary or have I got that wrong?

SueDonim Thu 09-Apr-26 12:17:12

Hello to all the ‘returners’, it’s lovely to see familiar names. That sounds awful, Galen, I hope the spring weather helps you recover.

My family & I are still sitting at my dh’s bedside. He is being cared for with much love by the medical staff.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 09-Apr-26 12:53:54

SueDonim sending you and yours a virtual (((hug))) 🌸

Usedtobeblonde Thu 09-Apr-26 13:13:03

SueD flowers seven years ago I was sitting at my H’s bedside so I am with you in every way.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Thu 09-Apr-26 14:03:47

Six weeks ago I was where you are SueDonim
My heart goes out to you 💕

Galen Thu 09-Apr-26 14:17:06

Yes to the pearls.
No to Gary who left.
For the past 3 years I’ve had a marvellous carer called Laura.. her darling daughter’s partner has a gardening business and one of his employees does my garden.

Jaxjacky Thu 09-Apr-26 14:37:17

SueD sending a big hug x

SueD I'm thinking of you and your family. Much love x

Redcar Thu 09-Apr-26 17:30:26

sueD I’m so sorry to hear that your DH is so poorly. flowers

I’m at home now after my dear sis in law’s funeral, I’m shattered! A full Requiem Mass, followed by a short committal service at a crematorium nearby. She had always wanted her coffin to be carried on a carriage pulled by two black horses, so that is what she had. They carried her from the Church to the crematorium, turning heads as we drove through the Main Street!
Lots of standing around before we adjourned to a local hostelry for refreshments.
Sad to see so many of her friends looking so old - just like me!!

Her stepdaughter and step grandson are returning to Oz next week, so we’re having a family get together on Saturday.

Sorry to read that there is so much sadness in the kitchen, sending love and healing thoughts to all.
