I have taken the liberty to open a new kitchen.

Bubbles, friendship and support in abundance xxxxx

I loved yesterday's sun and sunbathed outside, watching the washing dry with my woollen cardigan on! It was very pleasant

All I appear to do these days is go to hospital appointments. The next is Tuesday, having been informed on Thursday evening. It is local, but one needs hiking boots to visit that hospital and I have no idea where I am going. I hope the transport man does!

Redcar Fri 01-May-26 20:53:04

brook I do hope that the industrial strength anti histamines work for you and that you’ll be more comfortable soon.

charleygirl I find that hospital and other medical appointments tend to be a bit like London buses - none for a while then loads come along at once! It’s always a route march to find the right department too.

It’s been a glorious day today, dry, sunny and warm. I abandoned my socks, and didn’t need a coat when I went out. I think it’s back to normal over the weekend and into next week.
Fingers crossed I’ve managed to find someone to help with my garden. He’s going to have a look at it on Sunday morning and will decide if he can help or not! I did pull a few weeds out this afternoon, which only served to show how many are still growing, no doubt any rain this weekend will spur them on to greater heights!

grannygravy I hope you had a good meal this evening. Enjoy your weekend free from technology.

Enjoy the rest of the evening folks.

‘Evening All’

I went to the Trafford Centre today and treated myself to a cashmere ‘v’ neck jumper two-thirds price in the John Lewis sale so £59 instead of £99 happy me. Then (as it was sales) I bought a lovely top from Hobbs too. I enjoyed my splurge the first time this year I’ve bought anything really.

Then this afternoon was my bereavement counselling session for an hour. I cried. A lot. So much to unpack from the last awful 10 months that Himself had to endure. Talking about it reminds me of how bluddy anxious I was. Constantly on high alert. I’m drained tonight to be honest.

Hello kitchen people and especially FGT2.🌹

We had lunch out today which was good. Read the papers when we got back.

The pigeon which was nesting in our garden seems to have vanished. She was in her dreadful tatty nest this morning but gone this afternoon.

I won £2.80 on the Euromillions! Yippee. Perhaps I’ll have better luck when I check my Premium Bonds tomorrow,

Sleep 💤 tight.

Redcar Fri 01-May-26 22:44:02

fgt flowers. Reliving the pain and anxiety of the last 10 months must be exhausting and very distressing for you. Be kind to yourself.

Hello Kitcheners.Hope your enjoying the sunshine. We are here at Ds and Dil’s.Thursday was quite traumatic we dropped Spiros at the cattery and I’m not sure who was the most stressed him or me.😂He has a lovely lady looking after him and will pick him up on Tuesday.
I then drove half way to Derbyshire and we stopped for the night in a nice hotel. The drive was a big deal for me but it was ok with very little traffic.
Its nice to have DS around as DH is a bit of a challenge he has a very short fuse at the moment understandable but,it’s difficult.Hopefully a trip to his favourite Chinese restaurant later will make him happy.

Glad you’re enjoying the sunshine Charliegirl and getting plenty of VitD.

Hope the meal goes well today FGT and good to have your family around you.❤️
Enjoy your Saturday everyone.

Ladyleftfieldlover Sat 02-May-26 16:12:07

Our cats haven’t stayed in a cattery for over a decade. They hate it and last time Milo actually hissed at OH as we walked away! Fortunately the lady over the road loves looking after them.

I’m happy, it’s raining! May it last some time, our garden is slurping it up.
Yesterday was sunny and warm, the pub at tea time was nearly full outside, we just got a table and sat with three friends.
I sowed some seeds outside earlier, rather haphazardly as I'm still very careful, time will tell. Still haven’t culled some long summer dresses I’ll never wear again and a couple of shirts, tsk, tsk.
A lovely meal I expect GG13 you’ll be ready to tell next week.
Enjoy Derbyshire Yia a buffer for you from your understandably tetchy husband, he’ll be frustrated, but knowing that doesn’t always help!
FGT I hope you’re have the best afternoon surrounded by love, himself would wholeheartedly approve and be pleased you are cared for.
Have fun kicking those heels tonight brook hay fever symptom free 🤞
Have a pleasant evening all.

Oh dear LLFL now I feel very bad he wouldn’t come out of his carrier when I left.

Naughtyneine Sat 02-May-26 20:30:08

Not an easy afternoon FGT....but hopefully in the long run a little bit cathartic.
Yia , not an easy time for you...trying to keep DH upbeat ...will they try again to see if the catheter can be removed? I hope so. Enjoy your time away.
Jax...I have planting envy... I'm waiting for the new bargain greenhouse to be erected and at the moment everything is being stored on the veg patch.
LLFL... We are currently away in Maevemouse ( motor home) with all 3 dogs...because we can't leave them behind...that said we are taking only the 2 smalls to Ireland as darling No 2 dog is on chemo and will stay home with my best friend.
Redcar... Fingers crossed for the gardener...

jaxjacky I’m happy too because it’s raining here, but I think it’s only a light shower, and not the long downpour we need. I doubt it’s done more than just damp the dust, and made a mess on the windows.

DD1 and her family came over this afternoon and stayed for a couple of hours, which was lovely and we all sat in the garden, in warm sunshine. DD2 will probably come over tomorrow for a little while.

I have managed to put together a few items of clothing that I no longer wear, along with some wine glasses and tumblers and will take them to the charity shop on Tuesday. My niece gave me mum’s rollator when she visited on Thursday, it’s much lighter than one of mine, so I’ll take the heavier one to the charity shop too. I hope someone will want it!

Enjoy the rest of the evening everyone.

Good morning everyone! It’s my 70th birthday today 🥳 and friends from the village are joining us for drinks and a buffet lunch. Thankfully the rain has passed through during the night. Messrs Wait & Rose are delivering most of the buffet shortly but I have added sausage rolls and puds to the table. I spent a happy hour making devils on horseback last night.
I don’t want to be “^in my 70s^” but it’s better than the alternative!
Better get moving, once I have finished my coffee.
Enjoy your day everyone.

Grandmabatty Sun 03-May-26 08:25:41

A very happy birthday NannyTopsy. Have a lovely day

Ladyleftfieldlover Sun 03-May-26 08:27:43

Happy birthday NannyT! I know what you mean - I found 70 difficult! I’ve moved on now as I was 73 last Sunday.

cornergran Sun 03-May-26 08:34:05

Hello everyone. Good to read how you’re all doing.

Your stay with family sounds just what is needed yia. I’ve been concerned for you both.

A hug and love heading your way fgt.

🤞 for hayfever eradication brook and for your appointment on Tuesday charley.

Hope you’ve enjoyed your travels neine. We had touring vans for years, I do miss the freedom they gave.

Nothing much has been doing here other than essentials as we’ve both been distinctly under the weather. Sinus pain and exhaustion followed by coughing. Covid test was negative.

We had plans to visit our elder son yesterday, an opportunity to catch up without our granddaughter around, although we love to see her conversations are different. We dithered a bit before deciding to go ahead. It’s a fair drive. Goodness knows what Mr C had done with his phone but it woke us an hour early - he denied all knowledge 😂. We worked with it and concluded it was to our advantage as we navigated two motorways without traffic issues. An easy drive for me.

A super day with some successful shopping, an hour sorting my parents grave and a lot of sitting chatting. My drive home was mostly in a veritable monsoon, 40mph signs on the motorway with far too many still zooming along. A nasty accident on the northbound M5 left us feeling so sorry for those involved and grateful for our direction of travel. Large puddles greeted us here, the garden will be the better for it.

A quiet one today, we’re both weary. I’m sure Mr C will doze this afternoon while I enjoy some tv catchup.

Look after yourselves everyone.

Good morning and just popping in to send birthday greetings to Nannytopsy.
I had a very quiet day yesterday and today looks to be a repeat.
Enjoy what you can of the BH weekend.

Jaxjacky Sun 03-May-26 08:42:34

Happy birthday to you 🎼🎼🥳🥂 enjoy your day Nannytopsy.
Good to see you back corner sorry you’ve both been poorly 💐

Charleygirl5 Sun 03-May-26 09:00:26

Yiayia Spiros is warm, safe and being cared for. Many years ago I looked after two dogs belonging to a friend for two weeks. One had such a good time with me he didn't want to go home so that was very embarrassing.

Sorry I don't live closer or Spiro would have a lovely life, lots of cuddles and affection.

My neighbours frequently have BBQs without warning me. One of these days I will say something, but it will be too much! So thoughtless when they can see my washing out,

mamaa Sun 03-May-26 09:07:23

Happy Birthday NannyT sounds like you have a lovely day planned.
As I type the sun is just peeping through the clouds here in our corner of Suffolk- hopefully the forecast rain will stay away in your neck of the woods too, until after your celebrations. 🎂🥂
