Bubbles, friendship and support in abundance xxxxx

Yes, it’s chilly here in S E Essex.

I am a happy bunny, just started the second season of Rivals (I love Jilly Cooper’s Rutshire chronicles)

Night night

Evening everyone. A busy day with the little ones, especially as DGD is potty training! They went to sleep beautifully although she woke up after an hour. A head cold is making her a bit grotty.
I shall be early to bed myself!

Hello kitchen people.

I had put my winter nightwear away and got out the summer stuff. Mmm. Back in a winter nightdress again. OH turned up the heating and I made toad in the hole for dinner.

While he watched the FA cup final, I popped into Waitrose and bought some goodies.

Sleep 💤 tight.

‘Evening All’

I’ve been round to my neighbour a friend of 50 years - we were delighted when she and her husband moved into this development 4 years ago, such a nice surprise.

Sadly her husband died unexpectedly this week - a huge shock to us both.

We’ve shared a bottle of wine and shed tears together about our joint widowhood just weeks apart and then laughed at some of the happy memories we recalled from over the years. I know we will support one another going forward.

I had a message earlier from one of my LWW friends who lives in Málaga …

“ Hi ….
Are you ready for your next challenge? Are you packed etc. look forward to seeing you, the weather looks to be improving, I’m getting ready to start moaning - it’s too hot haha. xx”

I’m nervous for Monday’s flight out as I’ve lost a lot of my confidence.
Hey ho
I’m trying not to overthink this and I know Himself would be proud I’m picking up the threads of my life as he wished.

Just sometimes the actual doing of something is harder than the abstract.

FGT2 my friend, for her first trip alone after the death of her husband, booked assistance at the airport. Not because of mobility issues but just to provide a bit of support. She said she was glad she did. Just a thought for you to mull over.

My friend's husband died about 2 weeks ago, She lives in Falkirk, I live in London so can't do much practically. We have known each other since we were 22 years old, sharing a flat in Dundee with two others. 2 doors away from M&S but the 3 years I lived there, I never entered as I earned beans.

She is 82, the same age as me and is planning to visit friends in Australia. Good for her.

The dinner is in the oven, I am chilling with a glass of chilled white wine.

FGT2 safe journey, you’ve got this 👍

I am watching the rugby (England v France) and checking my phone for the Wembley game as the 11yr old is there supporting our local club 🤞

Another cool day with intermittent showers and I'm still coughing and hacking away, how annoying.
I did give the kitchen a clean, then caught up with TV I’d recorded, MrJ was playing in a bowls competition, he came second.
Imogen was picked up about 10, what a pleasure it was to have her stay, she was revising some of the time, psychology, she’s now on study leave.
Have a good journey tomorrow FGT take strength from the warm embraces waiting for you.
Thoughts with the quiet corner, particularly SueD this week xx

FGT sending good wishes for your trip- you’re much braver than I’d be- I’d need to take someone with me, so a ‘big-up’ to you and yes, you certainly have ‘got this’.

Hi all, well *FGT should be safely ensconced in their special place, lots of happy memories to revisit.
A breezy day with light showers, voluntary phones proved troublesome, all sorted half an hour ago. Kitchen flor was washed and I chased my DEXA scan results, allegedly sent to the surgery who haven’t got them 🙄
This blooming cold is hanging around, persistent germs.
MrJ just called, dinner ready, have a lovely evening all.

brook2704 Mon 18-May-26 19:18:40

Hi kitchen pals, it’s been sunshine and showers here today, a bit of everything
Sorry to hear your germs are still lingering Jax hopefully they’ll be gone soon
I’ve had a good day and got most things done that were needed. I even got the ironing board out and ironed a few things for our holidays. Although whilst I was doing it I wondered why I was bothering as they’ll be packed tight in an unbelievably small suitcase as cabin luggage on the flight - thanks easyJet!
Hoping fgt has arrived safely and has friends around her
Thinking of everyone in the quiet corner, take care all x
