I have taken the liberty to open a new kitchen.

Bubbles, friendship and support in abundance xxxxx

kittylester Thu 02-Apr-26 21:21:53

Thanks again, Baggs. Hoping you are ok. Send lots of love from the kitchen next time you speak to the McSporran.

Fgt2, sending you a huge hug too. You are doing amazingly well but you are allowed to miss your DH.

Hoping your husband is doing ok, too, SueD, and that you are too.

Sending hugs to everyone who needs one.

Jaxjacky Thu 02-Apr-26 21:32:07

Sad times…
FGT xx
Thank you Baggs difficult for you too, take care.
I hope your husband is comfortable SueD and you have support.

dragonfly46 Thu 02-Apr-26 22:08:08

Thank you Baggs for the update. I am sorry to hear soop is in hospital but pleased she is comfortable.
FGT flowers.

cornergran Thu 02-Apr-26 22:32:08

Thank you baggs. Love to you and to Mr and Mrs soop

Love and hugs to you fgt, of course you’re missing your husband. Please, just be as you are.

My thoughts go to all finding life tough.

Sleep well tonight everyone.

brook2704 Thu 02-Apr-26 22:34:34

Thank you Baggs, so sorry to her the latest news about our dearest Soop
Fgt, SueD and everyone in need of a gentle hug 💐

Grran Thu 02-Apr-26 22:37:31

Sending love to Soop and so many thanks for this safe haven of a kitchen which is all down to her.

Us lovely lot are thinking ofcyou, Soop ♥️

baubles Thu 02-Apr-26 22:44:59

I’ve been popping in and out of the kitchen for news of soop, sending her my love.

Charleygirl5 Thu 02-Apr-26 22:57:49

I have had loss of internet connection which was a pain but another GN kindly told me about soop. The family is so far away.

SueD you are not having it easy either. I hope you are looked after when you visit, That wretched broken arm is a pain.

fgt it is all still very raw and will be for a considerable time. You are in the comfort of your own home, Himself is looking down at you and you do whatever you want. If the tears flow, so be it.

Grannmarie Thu 02-Apr-26 22:59:24

So sorry to hear that our dear Soop is in hospital but thankful that her devoted MrSoop is with her. 💕 Thank you Baggs, so sad for you too.

Neine, thinking of you, 💐🙏

Glad you enjoyed the pub, Jaxjacky, you're doing really well!

Hello 👋 YiaYia, thinking of you and your DH.

Beautiful cake, Ladyleftfieldlover, you are blessed with a good pair of hands!

Aww, FGT, I know, sending you gentle hugs. This evening I was setting the table for dinner (savoury mince and tatties, traditional Scottish fare) with my Australian cousins and I inadvertantly set a place for DH...❤️ He would have enjoyed seeing them again.

SueD, I hope your DH is comfortable and his arm isn't giving him too much pain. Hope you have loving support at this difficult time.💐🙏

Thank you, lovely Kitchen people, for your good wishes for our family celebrations. It's sixty years since my late aunt and uncle emigrated to Australia with their young family, so it's a very special anniversary. I doubt we'll all see each other again so we're making lots of family memories. We have a celebratory gathering for around forty organised for next weekend.

Wishing everyone a peaceful Thursday evening and a good night's sleep. TOYA, NNGB.

Thinking of the Soops, Baggs, fgt, SueD and all the lovely people in the kitchen this Good Friday morning.

spottybook Fri 03-Apr-26 09:50:06

I echo what Septimia just said flowers

Nannytopsy Fri 03-Apr-26 09:50:35

Good morning to the whole kitchen. A week ago I was waiting for surgery and today I am packing to go up to Shropshire for my brother’s 80th birthday lunch. We shall not rush and have plenty of stops to walk around and loosen up. I shall be pleased to get a change of scene.
Much love to everyone in the kitchen

Grandmabatty Fri 03-Apr-26 10:04:59

I am thinking of all in the kitchen this Good Friday morning. I wish peace to all. To Soop, a special blessing for this lovely thread.

mamaa Fri 03-Apr-26 10:11:05

Morning Kitcheners- just posting to say I’d like to echo what GrandmaBatty just wrote as Id have put similar. 💐

GrannyGravy13 Fri 03-Apr-26 10:19:16

Thinking of our dear soop and her man, along with all other kitchen friends who are struggling this Eastertide 🐣🐇🍫

hulahoop Fri 03-Apr-26 11:41:29

Granmarie have a lovely time with your relatives.
Jaxjacky glad you could see your Friday friends.
SueD sorry to read of your Oh injury hope he is pain free.
Blossoming we were in Lytham for a few days last week we enjoy it there.
Hope Soop is comfortable ,thanks for keeping us updated Baggs.
Good Friday wishes to all x

Thorntrees Fri 03-Apr-26 11:57:07

As a lurker, just wanted to send good wishes to all the lovely people on this thread.
Easter seems like a time of hope and renewal but for those who are struggling with illness, worries or caring for others I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.

Charleygirl5 Fri 03-Apr-26 14:23:47

I am not the slightest bit religious, but I send my love to all here.
Life isn't easy at present, too many obstacles. One person, a GP, thought she was dealing with an 82 year old git who knows nothing but will be discovering soon she chose the wrong git!

The sun is out but I am cold. Please look after yourselves.

brook2704 Fri 03-Apr-26 15:32:52

Hi to all kitchen friends, the weather is cold and wet up here, not much fun for all the families out and about. I’m home from the gym and just having a relaxing cuppa before going for a shower and getting my glad rags on for a night out in town with a few friends.
I hope Soop is comfortable today with Mr Soop at her bedside
A big well done with your recovery nannytopsy and enjoy the birthday lunch
Thinking of everyone in the quiet corner especially SueD, take care all x

kittylester Fri 03-Apr-26 15:44:06

Just popping out of the quiet corner to check on everyone.

We are due at DD1's house at 5 for a meal and catch up. It will be lovely when we get there but the effort of getting ready is very daunting somehow.

DD2 and Co are on their way to Turkey for a much needed relaxing break. I hope they get there and back with no problems.

Take care everyone. Thinking of everyone sad or worried at the moment.

cornergran Fri 03-Apr-26 15:44:29

My love and best wishes to you all. Life is such a challenge for many.

Usedtobeblonde Fri 03-Apr-26 16:38:55

I am safely ensconced in my room at a premier Inn in Nottingham.
Everyone was so helpful although the train was heaving as far as Sheffield with standing room only but the guard persuaded someone I needed the seat more than him.
Taxi from the station to here and the driver carried my luggage in and reception staff carried it to my room.
I must look very old and helpless but I did so appreciate it.
My D and GD have just arrived and we have arranged to meet in the bar at 6 for a drink.
I think all the time about the ones for whom this is no longer possible and send my very kindest thoughts.
A blessed Easter to all.

Jaxjacky Fri 03-Apr-26 17:07:08

Have a great time Nannytopsy brilliant recovery from your op.
I recall a certain get together before brook 🍹🍷🍸!! Enjoy your evening.
How lovely utbb people can be so kind, I wish you a lovely time with your family.
It’s been dull, damp and miserable here today and I’ve been rather slothful, I won’t go out with MrJ (he’s just gone) as the pub will be BH busy. Exercises done though x 3 and I helped put away Tesco delivery, everything ordered came ✅.
There are a few of us Kitcheners really struggling, some being so brave, I can only send my love and wish for a gentle evening and night.

Redcar Fri 03-Apr-26 19:33:24

You are doing very well nannytopsy, have a lovely lunch to celebrate your brother’s special birthday!
utbb I’m pleased that you have made it to Nottingham, and pleased that people helped you to get to your destination. Nice to know that there are so many kind people about!

jaxjacky well done for the exercises x3 and for helping put the food order away. You’ve earned the right to be slothful this evening. I have a kitchen timer in the shape of a sloth, given to me by DD1 - I think she’s trying to tell me something!

I’ve been for a walk today, done my exercises (also x 3) done some ironing and some gardening, now having a rest, will get the hot wheat pack out for my back soon.
brook enjoy your evening out with your friends.
Sending gentle hugs to all in the quiet corner and also to soop and her DH.
Enjoy the rest of the evening everyone, whatever you’re doing!

Nannytopsy Sat 04-Apr-26 04:54:55

We had a lovely evening catching up with my nephew and his family and being filled in on their news. Came to bed earlier than usual and have been awake since 1.30. 😡 I hope I can get a couple more hours at least.
My thoughts are with all our Kitcheners who are suffering, caring or grieving tonight.
