Check when shopping.

We once bought a gammon joint or similar in Tesco as it was such a good price, at least that’s how it appeared from the big label.

Only when we paid did we realise the ‘bargain’ price was per kg, not the whole joint.

Duh!

Lesson learned, always check carefully.

What is more irritating, when shopping on-line, is to have a price for, say, courgettes, quoted at £X per kilo for loose and a pack of 3 with no per kilo price at all. How can one compare?

Caveat emptor

Plus always take your reading glasses when out shopping!

dalrymple- I think 3 packs of courgettes are sold on quantity not weight - so if they were smallish they'd be more per kg, than if they're a bit bigger.

The loose ones are usually cheaper with veg, though often not so with fruit.
