I was looking for dishwasher tablets at the same time as another woman.
She made her choice and I asked her why she had made that decision.
After getting over her shock at being questioned we had a great discussion on which university degree might be the best for getting the best deal!

dalrymple- I think 3 packs of courgettes are sold on quantity not weight - so if they were smallish they'd be more per kg, than if they're a bit bigger.

The loose ones are usually cheaper with veg, though often not so with fruit.

Caveat emptor

What is more irritating, when shopping on-line, is to have a price for, say, courgettes, quoted at £X per kilo for loose and a pack of 3 with no per kilo price at all. How can one compare?

We once bought a gammon joint or similar in Tesco as it was such a good price, at least that’s how it appeared from the big label.

Only when we paid did we realise the ‘bargain’ price was per kg, not the whole joint.

Duh!

Lesson learned, always check carefully.

I got caught out this morning as I was buying soft drinks. When I checked my receipt I saw I had paid 50p extra for some of them as they were in glass bottles which I hadn't noticed.
The prices were on a very small ticket fixed at ground level so I couldn't read it.
If you ever look at these labels they often seem designed to confuse with some prices in one measurement and others in a different firm eg lt ml etc
