A late good morning from a beautiful day on the east coast.
We had a lovely afternoon yesterday with the family. My lamb dinner went down very well with enough left over for another dinner each for tomorrow night.
The girls entertained us all with their dance to the song Golden. I realised who DGD2 reminds me of and it’s Helena Bonham Carter with her wild curly long hair and the eclectic way she dresses. Yesterday it was a floor length net skirt, a tee shirt with a duck on because it’s Easter and unicorn tights paired with crocs. She’s certainly individual.

This afternoon we are round at DSs they have invited us for lunch and his partners family are coming too. We haven’t met them yet. DGS is with his mother so they are taking the opportunity to have their first houseful since they moved in last October. GS isn’t comfortable with lots of people and noise.

Wishing you all a lovely Easter Monday with moments of joy🌼

Good morning from a sunny and dry NE.
Yesterday was a lovely family day, DD arrived with chocolates from a favourite chocolatier in Brussels.
GD told us about her three days in the Lakes for D of E, camping and having to cook after long day walking, seems to have gone well.
After dinner GD played the piano for over an hour and then her aunt played a duet with her. It was a real treat to have them play together.
Today will be quiet, DD and SIL are helping his brother clear his cousin's house, not the best bank holiday activity.
Have a good day.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s dry, a bit sunny and 15°C is forecast according to Alexa. I have no plans, not seeing anyone today so I intend to just potter about. I think I’ll sort my bookcase and go through some boxes sitting on it where I have mementoes and memories. One in particular is stuffed to the gunwhales and the lid won’t fasten. I’m not sure what I’ve squirrelled in there these past couple of years…. I’ll be listening to CFM and enjoying the final day of the Top 300 pieces of music that have been played since Good Friday. I have a ready meal I can bung in the oven so I have no need to be out at all today. x

Good morning from Shropshire.Another sunny day but still chilly.

Yesterday was a lovely day DD1 did a lovely roast dinner with DD2 as her assistant. It was lovely seeing the cousins together.Busy lives mean we don’t all get together as much as we would like. The two grandsons had a great time together, DGD enjoyed looking after her baby cousin.Although we did nothing but eat and chat we were tired when we got home!

Today DH will do the lawns and I will do laundry as it’s a good drying day.

Glad things are ok lulu, a scare for you, definitely take it easy today.

Thoughts with our absent friends and those struggling.Wishing everyone a good day.🌻🦩

It is a bright morning here in S E Essex, still a chill in the air.

Not sure what our plans are, I am rather stir crazy as we are used to being away with family over the Easter break, not sure I like this quiet home alone alternative 🙋‍♀️

GrannyIvy Mon 06-Apr-26 08:46:35

Good morning from Cambridgeshire where it is 5 degrees but forecast to be sunny and around 12 later. We had a busy day with DD2 and family here yesterday. We had roast chicken with all the trimmings and then played games and the little ones did Easter colouring and crafting. We managed to fit in an egg hunt between showers! Today will be just a quiet one at home.

Happy Easter Monday to all 🐣🌸

Good morning from a fair Wiltshire.

Easter has been fairly quiet this year. We spent yesterday morning with D2 and GC’s while SinL was busy proceeding with upstairs renovations. We have never bought them Easter eggs which is just as well as they had about 8 each from other people. We gave them other things instead. GS2 played with a rocket launcher and foam rockets in the garden which he was going to “launch into space like Artemis” but is was very windy and instead one was launched into next door’s garden. GD3 gruesomely told us about a raven which had killed a pigeon in their garden. I never realised they could. My son sent a video of a group of adders he’d filmed on Greenham Common.

We had lamb tagine for dinner so no cooking really other than couscous and spinach. Sausages and mash tonight as I realise we didn’t have potatoes on a single occasion in the last week.

Have a good bank holiday everyone.

Good morning from a brightish Leicestershire.

I enjoyed the Gardener’s Fair yesterday although it was bitterly cold. I succumbed by buying more plants I don’t need!

No plans today except laundry and dog walk.
I really must delve into the freezer for dinner.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

BlueSapphire Mon 06-Apr-26 08:03:55

Good morning everyone and happy Easter Monday.from an overcast Northampton, though sun is promised later.

A quiet day on my own yesterday, spent reading and catching up on tv. I cooked a delicious half rack of lamb for my dinner (the other half is in the.freezer). Really enjoyed last night's The Other Bennett Sister.

Today I am being picked up late morning by DS and family and going over to DD for lunch and an overnight stay. DD is planning on cooking two roasts, chicken and lamb, so we are being spoiled! I have Easter Eggs to take for the DGDs, and a bottle of champagne for the grown-ups.

Wishing all a pleasant Monday.

ginny Mon 06-Apr-26 08:03:46

Good morning. It’s dry at the moment so hoping it stays that way. We will spend a couple of hours on the garden . I doubt I’ll manage any longer.
Later I shall lay out some of the cloths that will be packed for our holiday and then carry on with some art work.
Wishing all a good day with a smile along the way.

Good morning from a sunny Suffolk where it is predicted to be warmer than yesterday.

We had an excellent lunch at the pub with DS and his crew. The pub suspends their usual menu on Sundays and do roasts with a mass of different vegetables….7 yesterday. The DGC were delighted to be offered a pizza menu. The owner of the pub is Italian and her pizzas are famous around here.

I’m hoping to get out into the garden later to do a bit more tidying up and venture down to the summerhouse for the first time this year. We store some of the garden furniture in there over the winter and it will stay there for a few more weeks but I can squeeze in and find a comfy spot to read and admire the stilllovely primroses and the emerging cowslips and bluebells,

Hope today is a good one for all.

Marydoll Mon 06-Apr-26 08:03:08

Good morning all from a very chilly Glasgow, no sunshine here.

We had a quiet day yesterday no visitors. They all had plans, but had visited on Saturday. I was so relieved, I didn't feel well enough to entertain.

I had a dreadful coughing fit during lastnight and was sick. DH, of course slept through it.

Today, I am going to clear up after all the Easter services. Some parishioners think the fairies clear their rubbish away.

Lulu, a restful day for you and Roses, pleased your family visit went well. ♥️.

Thank you for the lovely photos.

Have a good day, whatever your plans.

P,S, the DIY dentistry failed. I looked like Bugs Bunny!

Morning, 5 in S Hants, sun due later today.
We had a lovely lunch my my daughter and children yesterday, son was held up at work, one game of Rummikub which MrJ won. It rained on and off before he went to the pub for the meat draw and won an Easter prize.
No voluntary phone today.
Glad to see lots of you had a good Easter Sunday, beautiful sky Bellas!
Safe travels today those heading home.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where it is overcast but calm and dry. Good to hear you’re feeling better, Mick. I started my day by knocking a full glass of water off my bedside table.

Lunch was lovely yesterday; everything was spot on - unusual for me - but I had been on my feet for most of the day and when we played games in the evening I struggled to concentrate but it was great fun. After they left, I fell asleep in a chair🙄!

Today I will go to the gym and then the day will be mostly gardening. GS is coming over tomorrow to cut the back lawn, and to help me to move some plants around in the top bed, but I have small jobs to catch up on that don’t require digging!

Have the best day you can, folks.

EkwaNimitee Mon 06-Apr-26 07:54:48

Good morning Mick and everyone from cloudy but dry Carlisle.
I was out for an early walk in the park yesterday, it was practically deserted apart from one or two dog walkers. That's how I prefer it. Back to coffee and a phone chat with my brother and sister, the former on a visit to the latter. I usually stay home at Easter and definitely this Easter...no long drives because of fuel concerns and our trains are being messed about again with major works.
My little lawn got its first mow of the season before lunch and I gardened in the afternoon, it was sunny but the stiff breeze was unpleasantly chilly. Reading for the rest of the day.

Today will be a normal day for me, bed-changing, laundry and vacuuming plus I have the weekend puzzles to finish.

Wishing you all a pleasant day and some sunshine.

Ladyleftfieldlover Mon 06-Apr-26 07:47:48

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

Our daughter went back to London yesterday with a big wodge of Simnel cake and an Easter egg,

There is a lot of lamb left so I will bake two or three shepherds pies and freeze them. I will try and fit in a Waitrose shop and we may visit our nearby NT property which re-opened for the new season last week.

I won’t get much done tomorrow as I have to take Milo to the Vet for 8.15 am to have four teeth extracted. Our cleaner is also coming tomorrow, and our gardener plus a WI coffee morning at the village coffee shop.

Have a good day everyone.

Gingster Mon 06-Apr-26 07:47:30

Good morning all. Bright and chilly again here in Essex.

We did a spot of gardening yesterday in our tiny plot. Mowed the lawn, deadheaded daffs and generally tidied around. It’s all looking pretty and colourful. Redcar our camelia is turning brown too. It has been glorious though.

DS2 and family are going to our seaside cottage for a few days. I hope it warms up a bit for them. Goodness knows when we’ll manage to get there. The sale is progressing , slowly. 😢.

Today , who knows,. Something always turns up.
I do like to get back to normal routine though, and this week is looking busy.

Enjoy that Roast Lamb Madeleine.
We had lamb cooked in the slow cooker. Melt in the mouth.

Enjoy the day .🌺

Gagagran Mon 06-Apr-26 07:43:59

Good Morning all from a zero degrees central south coast. It is sunny and clear but with an easterly airflow. It will warm up a little today but not reach the dizzy heights promised on the forecast I am sure. It's never warm from the east.

DH was delighted with his Easter egg but didn't open it as I did a chocolate trifle for dessert at lunchtime and he is quite abstemious about eating too much chocolate.

Had a long chat with DS who had to cancel his sporting plans over the weekend due to hurting his back. He had spent some time laid on the floor trying to ease it and taking pain killers but did manage a little walk yesterday afternoon. DDiL also had a disappointing weekend as her sailing competition in Wales was cancelled due to the strong winds. They had a nice family lunch with the two DgDs which had made up for the change of plans.

I spent some time planning the summer planting of the garden ready for purchasing plants. It is still too cold but we have done some basic prep and know what is involved. DH is lined up to do the actual work - under the supervision he requests. "Just tell me what to do" - so I do!

Thinking of all our GNs with worries, sadness or difficulties of any kind. May the day bring some ease and comfort for us all. sunshine

brook2704 Mon 06-Apr-26 07:43:00

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s bright and sunny, hopefully better than yesterday’s weather which was awful with snow and sleet showers most of the day. Thank you Ash the snow is gradually melting now and it’s warming up a bit 😊
Pleased to hear all is ok luluaugust what a worry for you
We’re planning a walk somewhere today if I can get motivated enough to get ready. Nothing else planned though so will see how the day goes
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Usedtobeblonde Mon 06-Apr-26 07:40:24

Grandmabatty your joy with your DS shines out, I am so happy for you.

Gelisajams Mon 06-Apr-26 07:39:30

Good morning Mick and all from Morecambe Bay where the weather promises to be a little kinder than storm Dave. He tried his best to ruin our Easter service on the Shore yesterday (but didn’t succeed) and continued over the day with hail showers.
We are off in a few minutes to take Crazy dog to the woods where he will run and chase the squirrels. He hasn’t ever caught one although he has come close on a couple of occasions. They do spoil his fun by running up a tree.
Last week we took our camper up to North Yorkshire where we did the wild daffodil walk at Farndale. I’ll hopefully attach some pictures. Take care everyone.

monk08 Mon 06-Apr-26 07:37:09

Good morning all from the Black country.
Today is DiLs birthday will meet the family at nearby farm after she has had her early morning wild swim.
I think we may have a takeaway later.
Have a good day everyone whatever your plans, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed.☀️

Usedtobeblonde Mon 06-Apr-26 07:37:06

Good morning from Nottingham, my last day here.
I have a taxi booked for 10:30 to take me to the station and I can’t wait to be home now.
I had one of my bad nights, still awake at 3:30 and had palpitations, the first time in a few weeks, of course I worried then which makes it worse.
I have enjoyed seeing my D and GD but want to be home.
The weather has been kind, chilly but we only had rain once and we weren’t out in it.
We did, sadly, see some bad behaviour on the trams yesterday and some very feral children and teenagers smoking weed and drunk and making people very uncomfortable.
Part of life today.
I hope you good folk mostly enjoyed Easter and found some good times.
Roses I am happy for you that you enjoyed your family visit, did you tell them?

Grandmabatty Mon 06-Apr-26 07:34:35

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 1° and cloudy. Very cold. Bellasnana, that photo is just lovely. Rosesandlilac I'm glad you had a good time with family.
Yesterday we had every kind of weather in the morning. Rain then hail then enormous flakes of snow which fortunately didn't lie. I organised all the food for the buffet and tidied up as I went along. Ds arrived early with a huge dish of macaroni cheese he had made that morning (still warm). He then hid lots of easter eggs around the house for the boys to find. My aunt and uncle arrived with a nut loaf and gifts for all. Dd, dsil and the boys duly arrived, bearing more food. The boys were very excited. We ate until we could eat no more with lots of laughter and chatting. When it was time to go, I made sure all of the sweet stuff left as well as other goodies. I have enough left for a couple of days. It was lovely to have the family all together. I had messaged my brother inviting him but he didn't reply nor appear. I'm not sad nor disappointed. I won't invite him again. I cleared up last night and everything is clean and tidy. Even the tablecloth and napkins have been washed and dried.
Today I'm meeting a friend for coffee and cake. We will have a blether. I'm looking forward to seeing her as I haven't seen her since Christmas. After that, home to put away all the dishes used yesterday and to work on the painting for me ds. Here it is in its unfinished state. Have a good day all

Good morning from a sunny W Kent
Yesterday was a very different Easter Sunday. Having phoned 111 regarding my racing heart I was directed to a Same Day unit and had blood tests and an ECG. All seems well and the staff were wonderful. Very relieved
Today as the Dr suggested a quiet day with domestic stuff.
Best wishes
