Good morning from Bristol; it’s dry and promising to give us a little sunshine. I just hope it’s not too windy.
Glad that things are a little better, Mick.
I had a very pleasant day with the family yesterday. Church with them then lunch.
Some of my church ladies make little knitted animals with a crème egg inside, which I get for the girls. This year p,mi added a pair of earrings each - they had their ears pierced at half term and are just starting to change them. They appeared delighted with the history behind the ones I gave them, DGD1 appeared thrilled with hers.
Iris told me about the diocesan church competition she won - prize was a lovely card, a large bar of chocolate and a £50 voucher for riding stuff! It was for things the church could improve for young/disabled youth. She made a short video about the use of Makaton during services.
I took home a large bunch of (Spanish) bluebells from their garden and spent a quiet rest of the day.
I’ve nearly finished my jumper, and have prepared some heart blocks for my new quilt. They are so easy and pretty that I think that I’ll make a multi-coloured one for a raffle prize for the church fete in July.
Quiet day today after a Tesco shop.
Enjoy the bank holiday, keep yourselves safe. Carpe diem 🦩🦩☀️🦩☀️🦩

Good morning from Malta where we are promised a sunny day with a high of 23°C.

Yesterday was lovely! I went to Mass which was packed to the rafters after which DD3, DSiL and the boys picked me up and we went to a restaurant in the north of the island for lunch.

We sat outside it was so warm, lunch was delicious and my lovely son in law wouldn’t let me pay for anything which was very kind. The boys behaved very well, ate grown up food and after lunch they spent a while playing with other children they’d met, all in all a lovely day out.

Got home around 5pm and had a long FaceTime chat with DD2 and DGD who had been out the day before with her softball team‘egging’ people’s yards, ie: hiding chocolate Easter eggs for the children to find. I like the way they do things for the community.

Today I intend to blitz my animal-free home as I feel there are pawmarks on everything! How much I get done will depend on my back which is playing up, and also if there’s any tennis I want to watch from Monte Carlo.

Hope you all have a good day☀️ Photo is view from the restaurant yesterday showing the island of Comino.

Good morning Mick and all GN's on a cold dark morning in North Yorkshire. I am slowly creaking around and hope to improve in a bit as am going to a friend today and need to get my act together here and remember what needs doing before I go etc etc.

Yesterday didnt see anyone at all, but spent most of the day indoors, trying to find passport - failed so far - carry on doing paperwork things - mixed results - and poked my nose out planning to have a walk round, but the wind was so cold and so in the end I started to walk round the flats but decided it was too windy and chilly and turned back from even that, pleased to return to the warmth of the flat. So far today still but cold so may be able to have more of a walk today.

Heard from my son and family, His hand a little improved but still painful and cant do much and they also had a quiet day at home . He said that he had been telling Louise about the "strings" that I mentioned yesterday. so glad that is a special memory for him and the fun they had that day. He remembered in particular finding eggs in his wellington boot and his tonka fire engine. I think that it will have been a poor day for any organised event. The weather is definitely in charge and I think many people will have been put off doing anything much round here. Perhaps today they will fare better.

I had some rather nice sea bass and saute potatoes for dinner and look forward to our roast lamb today. Shall be glad to get away from irritating jobs that I am having problems with and hope to come back feeling refreshed and ready to sort out things. We shall see, and the main thing tomorrow is to be able to sort out the bank hassle and get things paid and organised. If the weather improves I want to try and get more bits done in the garden and think of venturing to Harlow Carr but the weather forecast for the next few days promises us a bit of better warmer weather and then colder. Well so far we seem to have jumped straight to the cold weather so will have to see how things change.

So I need some decent coffee and breakfast and then start getting together the bits and pieces for the car. It will be a plod as I am rather struggling walking about, but have resorted to pain killers this morning so fingers crossed they will start helping soon.

Glad you are feeling a bit better today Mick. Take it easy today too wont you. Iris had a good idea and deserved her prize. That reminded me to get my Makaton book out and do a bit of revising and hope that I will get onto a course soon. I have a friend who is also learning , so I plan to try and organise a little set regular time that we could meet for a coffee and practise a bit . To make it more fun I suggested that we could begin by checking our signing and then attempt to choose something to eat with the coffee, which we only get when the other person can correctly decipher our signs. At the moment I had better choose something cold as anything hot would probably be quite chilly before I had spelt it out correctly, without stops to remember a particular sign! Glad you had a good day with the family.

Well the morning has lightened a little, still dry but cold and I had better make an effort to start my day . Wishing you all a happy Easter Monday and safe journeys home for those of you who have been visiting families and friends

Good morning from south Glos, it’s going to be another lovely sunny day today and the same is currently forecast for the week!
A really lovely day with my DS, DDIL and DGSs, a delicious traditional dinner with roast lamb and an egg hunt in the garden, perfect 😁
They went home late afternoon, they have plans for today - a 120km cycle ride for DS and DGS1, wild water swimming for DDIL, then a pool swim later with DGS2.
I’m going to have a good tidy up this morning then going to a friend’s house for a cup of tea this afternoon. I haven’t done any embroidery for a few days so that’s planned for later.
I hope you all have a lovely day x

Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset is promised a less windy day with some sunshine.

Our young friend (she’s younger than our children) was pleased to have some company yesterday and I was left in awe of her strength in coping with three hours travelling for daily cancer treatment. She’s amazing. A very cold wind kept us indoors in the afternoon.

We’ll have coffee and a catchup with our neighbours this morning and I hope an hour or two in the garden later bringing out solar lights and other items put away for winter.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Good morning from a brightening northwest coast. I have a sun trap in the back garden out of the wind and spent a couple of hours in it yesterday, drawing, reading and enjoying a spot of lunch. It was nice to be in the sun for a while. I even got too hot at one point.

In the evening, I joined my friend at her open mic night and had a good time, although I don’t sing, my repertoire is too classical! Some very good performers and I met some new interesting people. Not a late night and my friend is off to Wales early this morning. She’s a busy bee as she’s in a band herself as well as being a practising artist.

A quiet day today and thoughts to all🌺

karmalady Mon 06-Apr-26 06:57:53

Good morning from s somerset, it will be a beautiful sunny day today

I`m off to the allotment later, pottering, chatting and mainly to take a couple of big things such as a pot of shed paint and a chair. We have three new members, I met one the other day, very friendly with a nice smile. I am hoping that regular cycling to the allotment will happen after today

I am sorry about this young friend of yours Cornergran

Good morning from our last day in Wressle

We will go home today. I think early.

There are some jobs to do in the garden which I would like to do before we are back to work tomorrow

It’s been a lovely break, the weather could have been warmer but never mind.
Yesterday we had a run to Spurn Point. I have never been . I was hoping to walk to the end but the weather was so blustery with heavy showers we didn’t get out of the car. A shame because I would have liked to have done it.

Take care everyone flowers

Good morning from South Lanarkshire, the wind has dropped but it’s still quite drizzly.

We had a delicious dinner of roast lamb yesterday cooked by DSiL. We haven’t seen all the children together in the weeks since DH’s surgery so that was a treat in itself. One of them came home with us and wants to go to Mass this morning so that’s what we will do.

Nothing else set in stone so we’ll see how the day goes.

Have a good day everyone.

Ashcombe Mon 06-Apr-26 07:16:49

Good morning from a lovely morning here in Torbay with the sunshine enhancing the blossom on the young trees in the park opposite my home.

Today we hope to do an early Lidl shop so I’m well stocked up before DH returns to France on Wednesday.

Have a good day, everyone and I hope our grans such as brook 2704 who have snow find it soon melts!

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. Sunny but a little frosty here this morning. My pale pink camellia is suffering from the frosts we’ve had recently and is turning brown.
I had a good time at DD1’s yesterday afternoon, a lovely roast dinner (beef, not lamb) and even the DGDs ate well, despite eating several small Easter eggs before dinner.

Nothing planned for today, but a load of washing is in the machine and should dry outside later.

* bellasnana*your day yesterday sounds delightful. I hope you can get your house free of paw marks today!

karma a busy day at the allotment for you , I hope you get all the planned work done today.

Good to read of so many grans enjoying family time over the weekend!

Thinking of those who are struggling with life’s challenges at the moment and hoping that things improve for you soon.
Have the best day possible everyone.

kittylester Mon 06-Apr-26 07:27:27

Good morning all from a bright North Leicestershire.

We are aiming to go shopping this morning - we need wine glasses! - and we are hoping the shops will be quiet. The rest of the week is looking very busy here.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning from a sunny W Kent
Yesterday was a very different Easter Sunday. Having phoned 111 regarding my racing heart I was directed to a Same Day unit and had blood tests and an ECG. All seems well and the staff were wonderful. Very relieved
Today as the Dr suggested a quiet day with domestic stuff.
Best wishes

Grandmabatty Mon 06-Apr-26 07:34:35

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 1° and cloudy. Very cold. Bellasnana, that photo is just lovely. Rosesandlilac I'm glad you had a good time with family.
Yesterday we had every kind of weather in the morning. Rain then hail then enormous flakes of snow which fortunately didn't lie. I organised all the food for the buffet and tidied up as I went along. Ds arrived early with a huge dish of macaroni cheese he had made that morning (still warm). He then hid lots of easter eggs around the house for the boys to find. My aunt and uncle arrived with a nut loaf and gifts for all. Dd, dsil and the boys duly arrived, bearing more food. The boys were very excited. We ate until we could eat no more with lots of laughter and chatting. When it was time to go, I made sure all of the sweet stuff left as well as other goodies. I have enough left for a couple of days. It was lovely to have the family all together. I had messaged my brother inviting him but he didn't reply nor appear. I'm not sad nor disappointed. I won't invite him again. I cleared up last night and everything is clean and tidy. Even the tablecloth and napkins have been washed and dried.
Today I'm meeting a friend for coffee and cake. We will have a blether. I'm looking forward to seeing her as I haven't seen her since Christmas. After that, home to put away all the dishes used yesterday and to work on the painting for me ds. Here it is in its unfinished state. Have a good day all

Usedtobeblonde Mon 06-Apr-26 07:37:06

Good morning from Nottingham, my last day here.
I have a taxi booked for 10:30 to take me to the station and I can’t wait to be home now.
I had one of my bad nights, still awake at 3:30 and had palpitations, the first time in a few weeks, of course I worried then which makes it worse.
I have enjoyed seeing my D and GD but want to be home.
The weather has been kind, chilly but we only had rain once and we weren’t out in it.
We did, sadly, see some bad behaviour on the trams yesterday and some very feral children and teenagers smoking weed and drunk and making people very uncomfortable.
Part of life today.
I hope you good folk mostly enjoyed Easter and found some good times.
Roses I am happy for you that you enjoyed your family visit, did you tell them?

monk08 Mon 06-Apr-26 07:37:09

Good morning all from the Black country.
Today is DiLs birthday will meet the family at nearby farm after she has had her early morning wild swim.
I think we may have a takeaway later.
Have a good day everyone whatever your plans, safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed.☀️

Gelisajams Mon 06-Apr-26 07:39:30

Good morning Mick and all from Morecambe Bay where the weather promises to be a little kinder than storm Dave. He tried his best to ruin our Easter service on the Shore yesterday (but didn’t succeed) and continued over the day with hail showers.
We are off in a few minutes to take Crazy dog to the woods where he will run and chase the squirrels. He hasn’t ever caught one although he has come close on a couple of occasions. They do spoil his fun by running up a tree.
Last week we took our camper up to North Yorkshire where we did the wild daffodil walk at Farndale. I’ll hopefully attach some pictures. Take care everyone.

Usedtobeblonde Mon 06-Apr-26 07:40:24

Grandmabatty your joy with your DS shines out, I am so happy for you.

brook2704 Mon 06-Apr-26 07:43:00

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s bright and sunny, hopefully better than yesterday’s weather which was awful with snow and sleet showers most of the day. Thank you Ash the snow is gradually melting now and it’s warming up a bit 😊
Pleased to hear all is ok luluaugust what a worry for you
We’re planning a walk somewhere today if I can get motivated enough to get ready. Nothing else planned though so will see how the day goes
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Gagagran Mon 06-Apr-26 07:43:59

Good Morning all from a zero degrees central south coast. It is sunny and clear but with an easterly airflow. It will warm up a little today but not reach the dizzy heights promised on the forecast I am sure. It's never warm from the east.

DH was delighted with his Easter egg but didn't open it as I did a chocolate trifle for dessert at lunchtime and he is quite abstemious about eating too much chocolate.

Had a long chat with DS who had to cancel his sporting plans over the weekend due to hurting his back. He had spent some time laid on the floor trying to ease it and taking pain killers but did manage a little walk yesterday afternoon. DDiL also had a disappointing weekend as her sailing competition in Wales was cancelled due to the strong winds. They had a nice family lunch with the two DgDs which had made up for the change of plans.

I spent some time planning the summer planting of the garden ready for purchasing plants. It is still too cold but we have done some basic prep and know what is involved. DH is lined up to do the actual work - under the supervision he requests. "Just tell me what to do" - so I do!

Thinking of all our GNs with worries, sadness or difficulties of any kind. May the day bring some ease and comfort for us all. sunshine

Gingster Mon 06-Apr-26 07:47:30

Good morning all. Bright and chilly again here in Essex.

We did a spot of gardening yesterday in our tiny plot. Mowed the lawn, deadheaded daffs and generally tidied around. It’s all looking pretty and colourful. Redcar our camelia is turning brown too. It has been glorious though.

DS2 and family are going to our seaside cottage for a few days. I hope it warms up a bit for them. Goodness knows when we’ll manage to get there. The sale is progressing , slowly. 😢.

Today , who knows,. Something always turns up.
I do like to get back to normal routine though, and this week is looking busy.

Enjoy that Roast Lamb Madeleine.
We had lamb cooked in the slow cooker. Melt in the mouth.

Enjoy the day .🌺

Ladyleftfieldlover Mon 06-Apr-26 07:47:48

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

Our daughter went back to London yesterday with a big wodge of Simnel cake and an Easter egg,

There is a lot of lamb left so I will bake two or three shepherds pies and freeze them. I will try and fit in a Waitrose shop and we may visit our nearby NT property which re-opened for the new season last week.

I won’t get much done tomorrow as I have to take Milo to the Vet for 8.15 am to have four teeth extracted. Our cleaner is also coming tomorrow, and our gardener plus a WI coffee morning at the village coffee shop.

Have a good day everyone.

EkwaNimitee Mon 06-Apr-26 07:54:48

Good morning Mick and everyone from cloudy but dry Carlisle.
I was out for an early walk in the park yesterday, it was practically deserted apart from one or two dog walkers. That's how I prefer it. Back to coffee and a phone chat with my brother and sister, the former on a visit to the latter. I usually stay home at Easter and definitely this Easter...no long drives because of fuel concerns and our trains are being messed about again with major works.
My little lawn got its first mow of the season before lunch and I gardened in the afternoon, it was sunny but the stiff breeze was unpleasantly chilly. Reading for the rest of the day.

Today will be a normal day for me, bed-changing, laundry and vacuuming plus I have the weekend puzzles to finish.

Wishing you all a pleasant day and some sunshine.

Greyduster Mon 06-Apr-26 08:01:38

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where it is overcast but calm and dry. Good to hear you’re feeling better, Mick. I started my day by knocking a full glass of water off my bedside table.

Lunch was lovely yesterday; everything was spot on - unusual for me - but I had been on my feet for most of the day and when we played games in the evening I struggled to concentrate but it was great fun. After they left, I fell asleep in a chair🙄!

Today I will go to the gym and then the day will be mostly gardening. GS is coming over tomorrow to cut the back lawn, and to help me to move some plants around in the top bed, but I have small jobs to catch up on that don’t require digging!

Have the best day you can, folks.
