Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Default dreich here but may cheer up later. I want to go to yarn group this morning but there's so much going on house-wise that I may miss it again.

I decided to do my reccie for a U3A walk alone yesterday. It took me 4 hours so perhaps too long. It also took me up several hills, a field with docile bulls and a stream with stepping stones.

I went to Folk Club in the evening and listened to protest songs from my era.

I checked the status of the house I want to buy and have the estate agent coming tomorrow to arrange to put my house on the market.

Really Roses! Do you need to clean the kick boards 🤣 I suppose it takes your mind off the other stuff. Hope today goes smoothly.
Good wishes to Redcar and all with medical appointments.

Have a nice birthday 🎂Mattie with cake.

Hoping everyone has something nice today.

Just had to post my rant - I am incandescent with rage! DD2 has been refused her Blue Badge renewal application. The World has gone mad!
She had a stroke at 12 and has been unable to walk and a full time wheelchair user ever since and had Motability cars from being 16. Her assessment letter is ‘for life’.

I know she’ll appeal and I’m confident the decision will be overturned (or else) but who makes these decisions??

karmalady Wed 15-Apr-26 09:12:47

*Gramaretto and anyone else we have a Rosesandlilac and I just noticed a Roses also posting.

karmalady Wed 15-Apr-26 09:17:07

Rosesandlilac I am thinking about you on this very important scan day. Please accept my virtual handhold

Roses Wed 15-Apr-26 09:21:43

I know it gets confusing for me too
I don’t post often but have been on GN for ten years posting under the name of Roses

A late Good morning everyone from south Manchester. I’ve had 2 mugs of tea with youngest daughter who is on her school Easter break still this week. L’il Miss went back in on Monday, the Boy Wonder and herself next Monday.

Then speech and language Yorkshire Lass eldest daughter FaceTimed for a nice long chat. She was due at a school this morning (work) but the visit got cancelled at 8am. She looked glamorous in eye make up and lippy whilst I was still unwashed and in pyjamas! The joy of retirement eh?

I best get a wriggle on. I’m due at yoga in less than an hour good job it’s only at the library in the square below. Then home for a shower before being picked up by my brother in law and his wife to drive for a pub lunch meeting t’other (youngest) brother in law and his wife.

Will read all your posts after my yoga class no time now. x

Good morning all from a very dull Wiltshire. Rain soon I expect.

A busy week. On Monday we picked up after school. We left home about 20 minutes earlier than usual due to 4 way lights in town. DD2 picked up GD3 early she was doing a trial at Brownies to see it she likes it. GS2 was dropped off later. They were very good company this week.

Yesterday we had a new zip link bed delivered and DH build 2 side tables for the room. The bed can be a double or singles. This is where the GCs will have sleepovers for now. GD is very upset the old (30 years) single beds have gone. I ordered made to measure curtains too. DH nearly had heart failure at the price. I order and then tell him the cost 🥴. There seem to be fewer ready made curtains around. I’m sure this is deliberate. Today new 6’x6’ trellis panels for the garden have just been delivered.

Happy Birthday GM. 🎂🌷- I can’t believe how active you are at 78. Thinking of you today R&L hope all goes well. 💐You and your husband must be so fed up Sar. 💐

Have good day everyone.

Georgesgran who an earth could have come to that decision. As you say the world has gone mad flowers Hope it is sorted out soon

Grammaretto Wed 15-Apr-26 10:01:51

Sorry I shorten your name to Roses Rosesandlilac would you rather I didn't?

We have Rosiesmaw too but I don't confuse you two

Scapa1 Wed 15-Apr-26 10:09:55

Happy birthday GM flowers

Marydoll Wed 15-Apr-26 10:16:31

Georgesgran, I am incandescant!!!
Surely it is an error? Good luck with the appeal.

Thankfully mine has just been renewed, I was worrying about it.

A strange anniversary today. It’s 6 years this week since we had our first Sainsbury’s delivery 🤣. I wouldn’t go back to pushing a trolley around now.
Roses andL hope things go smoothly today. Wishing all poorly husbands an improvement.

Redcar Wed 15-Apr-26 11:42:58

georgesgran what a stupid decision! I hope her appeal is successful.

Roses Wed 15-Apr-26 11:53:24

Karmalady you seem a bit put out that I post as Roses as I have done for years
I was a little put out that someone else was being called Roses by most people who replied to her texts but didn’t feel it was my place to comment

Marydoll Wed 15-Apr-26 12:03:58

I was unaware of another Roses and often on GN, names are abbreviated.
Many people call me MD, I have no problem with abbreviating my username.
I apologise if you are offended.

Good Afternoon from a sunshine and showery Co Armagh,,
The weekly Village / Wednesday club was interesting , we had a video made a few years ago about growing flax , all local , it was interesting to see the process from sowing the seed to a beautiful tablecloth made from the result of the hard work , no wonder it is so expensive
I hope the scan leads to treatment starting soon RosesandLilac

Roses Wed 15-Apr-26 13:06:50

Thank you but I’m not offended MD

karmalady Wed 15-Apr-26 14:24:23

That thought is only in your head Roses I was simply pointing out an observation. I too have abbreviated Rosesandlilac to *Roses*. quite personal posts and they did need to get to the right person. Perhaps it should have been pointed out to the rest of us Roses

Grammaretto Wed 15-Apr-26 16:25:27

I'm sorryRoses I honestly didn't know there was another one.
In future I will distinguish between you!.

My messages have been for Rosesandlilac

Marydoll Wed 15-Apr-26 20:41:52

Because you don't normally post on this thread Roses, it wasn't obvious to many of us, that there was another Roses.
However, you are very welcome to join us.

I can honestly say, that in the fourteen years I have been on GN, I have never seen a post from you, mainly because I stick to the same few safe threads and definitely avoid the confrontational ones.

From now on I will use R&L, Rose and Lilac takes too long to write, I am a very impatient poster.😉

kittylester Wed 15-Apr-26 20:54:03

I knew there was a Roses and a RosesandLilac because I often need to go back and check.

Cossy Thu 16-Apr-26 08:34:14

Good morning from Westcliff, in Essex. Bit of sun, but swept away by windy chill.

Have a nice day one and all thanks

Oopsadaisy1 Thu 16-Apr-26 13:35:35

Cossy I think you need to repost on Thursdays Good Morning thread
