Significant rise in both anti-semitism and Islamophobia
When is Amol Rajan leaving the Today programme please?
Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark and dry and cold outside here in Brackley this morning.
After breakfast do a tidy up and then get the bus to Bicester to shop and hopefully chat to those I know.
My Health is OK ,
Take Care,
Mick
Happy Birthday BlueSaphire enjoy your special day ππΎπ₯π
Morning Mick, morning All from a sunny corner of Somerset.
Itβs far from sunny indoors as Mr C has a flu like reaction to yesterdays jabs and when not grumbling is sleeping. What I thought was hay fever has developed into an unpleasant head cold. I may join Mr C and sleep. Iβll certainly keep taking the drugs!
Very happy birthday wishes bluesapphire and thoughts to all coping with lifeβs trip wires.
Have the best day you can everyone.
I am worried about Madeleine give us a quick wave if you are ok
Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it is 2Β°C.
Happy birthday, Blue Sapphire.πππ
For the first time in a long time, I slept all night. The 17,000 steps I did, walking hobbling from church to parish hall and vice versa, may have had something to do with it.π
My limit is 7,000 on a very good day!
The young sacristan and I were stunned, when the Chief Sacristan informed us, that a man was coming to take down his shed, and he was going home after morning Mass.
He has not lifted a finger, the whole time, we have been moving items, just scuttles away.
It has taken three days of hard graft.
We were raging, even more so, when we found his surplice still hanging in the wardrobe, despite the fact that he was supposed to move it himself.
There is no entry to the church, as of today. It is a hard hat area. How does he expect to get his things?
The church is looking lovely, thanks to all those parishioners, who came to the rescue last night, when we were on our knees.
However, I had a a catastrophe during it all. I always lock my bag in the church safe (it is like a bank vault), for security.
We were seriously flagging and decided to go home for something to eat and a break.
The young sacristan went to get keys and I went to get my bag, but the safe wouldn't open. Total panic, for everything was in it, purse, bank cards, Blue badge medication etc. It would unlock, but the handle wouldn't budge.
I was alone in the church, because the P.P had been called to the hospital. π±
I went and borrowed his keys, but they wouldn't budge either. Obviously, I couldn't phone DH, he still isn't well enough to drive.
Eventually, I gave up and went home. Thankfully, I had my car keys in my pocket, or I would have been in a mess.
Why is my life so problematic? To make matters worse, I couldn't get a hold of the P.P and all the items for 5pm Mass were in the safe!!
Eventually the P,P phoned me. He was so calm and told me to pray to St. Joseph, the worker.
He is lucky, he was not standing beside me. π€¬
I said that everything was in my bag and I had promised DH, a treat of a takeaway, but had no money nor cards. My priorities were all wrong, but it had been an exceptionally long day. π
He replied that he would give me the money. π
Half an hour later, he phoned. Thankfully, I had been able to unlock the safe, and he had then been able to release the jammed handle, by dismantling part of the lock. ( I hadn't realised, that he was so hand's on.
We had already been looking up the phone numbers of local safe breakers.π
The greatest irony, my blood pressure had actually come down with all the drama.
It was 9pm, when I got home, totally exhausted. The takeaway was awful, perfect end to a perfect day!
Once I see DH is settled, ( BP still very high) I'm off to church again. The Monday sacristan is in Teneriffe ( lucky man π) and the chief Sacristan pretended yesterday, he didn't know he was supposed to cover today.
I have been biting my tongue, but don't think I can hold out much longer.
I won't be doing anything physical, just losts of tidying up. My back is so painful. It's my own fault.
Best wishes to all the poorlies and their carers, it is not easy.
Enjoy your day, folks.
Not only little girls FGT! Attached to my backpack I have a little yellow plush dog, an Eeyore and a tiny sad mouse someone left on their doorstep. Plus a keyring memento of a trip to St Michael's Mount. (My excuse is that they make it easier for my arthritic hands to use the zips. π)

This choosing of adornments is a big thing with girls at junior school. They attach them to their school bags π
I know FGT! I bought my nearly 10-year old granddaughter a furry avocado! I bought myself bright yellow leather bananas for my handbag!
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it's bright-ish.
I completed the long reccie walk yesterday with another person who showed me a great path I had never walked before in all the 45 years I have lived here!
π€
Last night I enjoyed a performance of "the Gentle Shepherd" by the Caledonian Opera. (Director and 4 performers)
at a local church.
Today I shall try to comfort my DSiL and all the usual Monday things
Happy birthday BlueSapphire I hope you enjoy your special day.
Safe travels Susan and thinking of you FGT and Rosesandlilac
I hope Marydoll's life gets easier.
Such trials.
I am wishing everyone a happy day.
Good morning from a sunny Norfolk. A little walking today round the local seaside and hopefully a sandwich lunch out.
Happy birthday Blue Sapphire
Good morning from a right but not yet sunny Suffolk. Either you are all getting earlier posting or,perhaps,Iβm getting later. Iβm just enjoying my first cuppa and will read your posts when Iβve finished mine. I hope they contain positive vibes.
I think we will venture to the coast for the morning dog walk. We tend not to go at weekends because our 2 or 3 favourite places are also loved by many others and get very busy, especially on a glorious day as we had yesterday.
Iβll spend the afternoon reading a mound of papers for an extra meeting Iβve been asked to participate in on Wednesday. I enjoy the company, usually remotely of the others involved and keeps y brain in gear( hopefully! ).
Happy birthday BlueSapphire
Good morning Mick and everyone from a somewhat cloudy and cool Carlisle with patches of blue sky.
Yesterday was a lovely sunny day. I went out early for a walk. The park was a bit busier than usual for that time of day on a Sunday, mostly dog walkers. The birds were singing their heads off and trees and plants bursting with fresh green foliage. I came back for a second breakfast and then got on with various little jobs including a bit of deadheading in the garden...the tulips are winding down their display sadly, I do love them.
I woke in the small hours with a bad migraine and had to go down for some paracetamol, it's still hanging about somewhat now. I haven't had such a bad one for years, having been plagued all my adult life, they gradually disappeared after menopause.
I'll just carry on gently through the day and maybe get the vacuum out, the washing I did yesterday, a good drying day.
I've decided I must have a clear out of t shirts, my drawers are practically overflowing. I tend to buy a couple of new ones for a holiday and then a souvenir one whilst away. Meanwhile the others are perfectly good for in the house, some are a quarter of a century old!
Wishing you all a good day if possible.
Happy birthday Bluesapphireπππ!
Good morning everyone from Inverness, after a gorgeous sunny day yesterday weβve got grey clouds and light rain this morning
Good luck in the auditions Ash
A very Happy Birthday BlueSapphire enjoy your special day! πππ₯
Yesterday I made the most of the weather and was out in the garden for a while. It was lovely to hear the birds singing and sit in the sunshine for a while. Today Iβve a volunteering session this morning, Iβm looking forward to catching up with a few other volunteers too. Nothing much after that until this evening when Iβm out at my line dancing class.
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings π
Morning from a bright S Hants.
Happy Birthday BlueSapphire ππ₯π₯³.
Yesterday I cleaned the exterior window sills and front door, then kitchen cupboard doors.
Today is voluntary phone, might get out for a walk and a quick coffee at some point.
Have a pleasant day all.

Blimey, quick response from octopus. I am now on variable direct debit and will only pay what I owe, bill by bill. I am impressed.
Good Morning all from a sunny central south coast. It's still breezy with an easterly airflow all week according to the forecast so it will not be a heatwave for sure.
The friend of our next door neighbour came to look at DH'S old e bike yesterday. He was delighted with it and even more delighted when DH gave it to him as a belated thank you for chopping down a large plum tree in our garden some years ago. He insisted on giving some cash to DH to buy some flowers for me. A very nice and kind transaction all round.
DS phoned to tell me about his planned trip to the Isle of Man in May and his plans to see the relations we have there. My sister is already looking forward to seeing him again. He worked for her in their hotel one summer when he was 16 and they have always got on well.
This morning I am going to see my choir friend for coffee. She is still recovering from a badly broken upper arm ( the head of her humerus) but thankfully is beginning to improve.
She will enjoy a catch up chat about choir and her husband will too as he is one of our tenors but has not been attending due to caring for her.
Kind thoughts as always to all our GNs with struggles or troubles of any kind. May the day bring some improvement, ease or comfort.
Happy Birthday Blue Sapphire ππ₯πΎ

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.
Iβve woken up with a painful left eye
I have a blood test this morning - the final part of my annual long term conditions check up. The cleaner should come while Iβm out. Iβll then do my weekly Waitrose shop.
OH is restarting his U3A croquet group which heβs looking forward to. Apparently the ground is dry enough.
FGT2 πΉit is lovely that you have such supportive family nearby.
Good morning all from a sunny but chilly North Leicestershire.
I had a bad gastric day yesterday having forgotten to take one dose of medication - I won't do that again.
Today, DH is going to the gym, we have Covid jabs booked and are seeing a new cleaner. So hopefully my stomach behaves.
Have the best day possible everyone.
Good morning from another beautiful clear day in Cornwall. I booked my day trip to Scilly last night, which hilariously involves an overnight in the Premier Inn in Penzance and a convoluted train and bus journey home the next day, all for four hours on St Mary's, but it will be well worth it! I love the boat journey which takes nearly three hours.
Gingster my patio is simply a mish mash of plants that survive in four inches of soil because that's all they have. There was already ivy everywhere and I've trimmed and tied that into swags. Otherwise I've planted honeysuckle, pyracantha and box, which I've grown from Tesco seedlings and created topiary from them. I didn't invite the echium and wild garlic. Oh and there's a six foot high oak tree in a four inch pot which appeared from somewhere. How everything survives in such little soil is a wonder to me. The mirrors I didn't grow. π€£
Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where it is 3 degrees and sunny. Going to be a dry day with high of 13.
Yesterday DD and her menfolk arrived to half past two and requested a walk before lunch ( which we never eat early anyway) so we did a round walk up through the reed bed and the birch wood. It was very enjoyable but they take no prisoners when they walk and I was tired when we got home and ache like the devil this morning. Lunch was very goodπΊπΊ and because I never make a pudding when we have curry, we finished it off with salted caramel ice cream.
Today, when I have soothes my aches with a hot shower, I shall go to the post office in the village for stamps and then to the hardware shop next door. This afternoon, I have a short appointment with the chiropractor who will have put a treatment plan together after last weekβs assessment.
FGT itβs a b****r when that happens.π
Have the best day you can, folks.
Happy Birthday bluesapphire, I hope you have a lovely day! ππ₯
Good morning from sunny Leicestershire.
We had lovely cake yesterday in the church next to the stately home but there was a dearth of bluebells.
Today we have our Covid jabs then a coffee at the local pub. We may be able to sit out.
Happy Birthday BlueSapphire.
